  1. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 3, 2008 -> 06:41 PM) A total of 4 hits in 18 innings is going to be quite a resume builder for Greg Walker, very impressive! I said this earlier, but it's entirely possible we don't score this series. We face Halladay tomorrow.
  2. I'm excited to get to update Thome's 7th inning stats today. It likely should be 2 at bats. Hopefully it reads 5 for 26 with 2 homers and 6 rbi.
  3. Bunting down 2? Are you freaking serious! Swisher continues his decent to the mendoza line.
  4. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 3, 2008 -> 07:11 PM) Danks will be fine, he's still only like 22 years old. Looked to me like he was just getting worked by the Jays' lineup. It's been happening a lot to him, I know I'm not the first one to observe that. But I agree, he's definitely a bright spot.
  5. Danks really has to work on his stamina. He seems to hit the wall around the 80 pitch mark.
  6. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ May 3, 2008 -> 06:57 PM) Nice job Danks. In all serious nous, Kenny has pretty much handicapped Ozzie with this team. If Ozzie envisioned this line up as his type of lie up and asked Kenny to get this, than he needs to e accountable, but I highly doubt he did. It all started with the signing of Thome, I know alot of you guys were so happy but we get a guy thats in the last years of his career. Other teams get younger players like, D. LEE , Cabrerra etc. and we seem to always get older players and give up young talent that can easily do no wrse than what we have. Bottom line this team is very slow and are limited to what they can do, our number 3 and 4 hitters are either singles or homers where something that more important than an OPS is extra base hits. That my freinds is what we don't have. KW and Ozzie made this choice when they started re-signing/extending players last year on a team that looked finished.
  7. I believe Dye is 0-14 since he returned.
  8. If not for some fortunate official scoring, OC would have more errors than RBI. He's at 2 vs 5 right now.
  9. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 3, 2008 -> 05:49 PM) Lol at OCab....hah wow.....amazing What did the "Gold Glover" do now?
  10. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 3, 2008 -> 06:24 PM) I'm rather afraid to think just how bad this offense might actually be this year... To think this lineup reflects giving up our top 3 prospects and Jon Garland is enough for KW to be on the hot seat.
  11. I'm actually intrigued at the possibility of the Sox not scoring this entire series.
  12. Cy Litsch...this team is just terrible.
  13. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ May 3, 2008 -> 06:16 PM) Damn, bought 8 tickets for that Grinders trip to Detroit. Why did I do that 3 weeks ago? At least you'll see the best team in the AL Central.
  14. QUOTE (frankie5angels @ May 3, 2008 -> 05:09 PM) If we struugle getting hits against this guy today. We are in deep trouble. He's a solid pitcher who keeps the ball in the park. We're in deep trouble no matter how the team hits today.
  15. Can someone watching please tell me that Hawk was questioning why would you pitch to Wells in that situation? Or was he too busy saying how great Eckstein is?
  16. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 3, 2008 -> 04:39 PM) Well Ozzie just came out and said he isnt firing Greg Walker. That he has vets and they dont need the hitting coach. if you dont need a hitting coach ozzie, then why are we having him stay around. If Ozzie keeps making these horrible decisions with an open base, then his ass better be fired. I'm so sick of the KW/Ozzie/Walker trio. Ozzie knows this team is struggling to score runs, and he's made some horrific decisions the last two games in the first inning.
  17. Good job Ozzie, keep up the terrible managing! Did the dumbass not learn anything last night?
  18. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ May 3, 2008 -> 04:55 PM) Typical, guy looks at the ball instead of hustling. This team is screwed up mentally. What happened
  19. Will Ozzie pitch to Wells with the open base and a lefty up next? Of course, Matt Stairs = Barry Bonds
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2008 -> 04:14 AM) Nice catch by Skip. Hopefully Ankiel or Pujols end this, as I give Troy Glaus a 1 pct chance of touching a Kerry Wood pitch. There was the 1 pct, but it was a weak pop up. He needs to get back on the juice, he has no bat speed.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2008 -> 03:29 AM) Wow, Soriano. Lou should pull him off the field. True story...as soon as I posted this, I thought "I hope Soriano doesn't bat in a big spot in the 9th".
  22. Nice catch by Skip. Hopefully Ankiel or Pujols end this, as I give Troy Glaus a 1 pct chance of touching a Kerry Wood pitch.
  23. QUOTE (Brian @ May 3, 2008 -> 03:11 AM) I thought Ball 3 to Fontenot looked pretty good. Molina got up too quickly to catch it. I thought the first pitch in the Soriano AB was a strike. The 3rd strike on Izturis in the 7th was a brutal call.
  24. Interesting match-up here. Villone is usually all over the place, as he has very little command. Then, you have a hitter with one of the best ideas of the strike zone in all of baseball. Hopefully he just pops up to center.
