  1. QUOTE (DonnyDevito @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 03:42 AM) i think i'm going to save my self some time and turn this one off. i think i'll go beat the tigers' behinds on xbox 360 while consuming some alcoholic beverages...that will make me feel better about the Sox not showing up at the ballpark tonight. I'd assume the Tigers are better on XBox than in 2008.
  2. QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 03:42 AM) This is embarrassing. Jason Grillii. Please. Nice lineup tonight Oz. How in the hell can you justify Toady Hall if AJ isn't hurt?!? You wanna sit somebody....sit Uribe's ass for a while. Corpseball is back...so much for that fast start. I wish we'd play Ozuna against lefties and have him bat 9th and play 2nd base. However, didn't matter much with Willis getting hurt.
  3. Tuesday's day off killed this team's energy.
  4. QUOTE (G&T @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 03:38 AM) that was the worst inning of white sox offense I may have ever seen. Which inning was this posted for? There's been three miserable innings. At least Cabrera just had his second longest hit of the year...too bad it was right at Grilli.
  5. You know when baseball experts talk about how a ball jumps off of a player's bat....like Ryan Howard, Soriano, etc? It seems like Cabrera is the opposite of that. He very rarely hits the ball hard.
  6. Ugh, now we have Hawk complaining about calls that are accurately no brainers.
  7. QUOTE (DonnyDevito @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 02:32 AM) shoulda left conteras in there. he could of gone into the 8th no problem. he didn't really throw many pitches at all tonight. he pretty much cruised from the 4th inning on. with a horse like contreras...he can go 110-115 no problem. Thomas has taken great rips off of Jose all season. Logan's been filthy against lefties. It was the right call, just bad execution by Logan.
  8. Damn, that's a huge hit by Thomas. We don't deserve this game at this point.
  9. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 02:29 AM) Flat out, given what happened to Willis in the 1st, a loss is unacceptable. If the Sox go on to lose, this game falls on the big shoulders of Jim Thome. He had two chances to give us big hits, and he K'd both times. Still 9 outs left.
  10. It's got to be Boone time. Great start by Contreras.
  11. QUOTE (G&T @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 03:25 AM) 2 out Good stuff by PK this inning.
  12. QUOTE (DonnyDevito @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 02:23 AM) yeah gamecast is pretty screwed up right now. i guess that tigers pen was bound to throw a good game sooner than later. so far, they have been great tonight. You have to wonder if this is the game that could get them going if they hold on to win. And there's the daily Cabrera lazy defensive play.
  13. QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 02:23 AM) Why was he out in the first place? I missed why... Slight hip flexor, but the radio said he could have played.
  14. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 03:21 AM) Boy. Walking into this thread just now, you'd think that the Sox are down 9-2 or something. Thankfully it's 3-2.
  15. 3 hits off of the magical Tigers bullpen. At least Swisher's in the game.
  16. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 03:18 AM) Grilli is a nonstop hanging curve factory, yet we cant make good contact?? Have we hit anything in the air with authority tonight?
  17. QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 03:18 AM) Barring injuries, I can not see too many teams looking for slow, past their prime, .270-ish hitting DH's. Yankees
  18. QUOTE (SEALgep @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 02:15 AM) Ridiculous? Do you know their history between each other? Is it so hard to contemplate umps being human and being capable of being wrong and stubborn? **** these guys have bigger egos than players at times. Yes, and the umpires stick together. If you diss one of them, it's not likely they're going to take kindly to you.
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 02:16 AM) For me it is Thome. We really should look to trade him if not in contention at the deadline.
  20. Honestly, Contreras has pitched very well outside of that 3rd inning. Our offense owes it to him to not make him the losing pitcher.
  21. QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 02:08 AM) That's their general approach to hitting. We should not be surprised, it is not going to change. He can only wait and hope they get really hot at some point, or 2008 is another famine year. You hear Hawk say how great last year's offense was on paper? He must get a different version than I do in regards to Erstad/Pods/Uribe
  22. Huge inning here for Contreras, as little seems to be going right since Willis got hurt. Get us back in the dugout down 1 Jose!
  23. QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 03:06 AM) I'd say the 2007 softball team is back. ...although they never really left. Well, we are benching 2 of our 4 best hitters right now. Swisher should have been playing, if healthy.
