Disgusting stat of the night: Even after a solid game against Marshall on Sunday, Iguchi has an OPS of. 480 against LHP this season. I really hope we don't even consider bringing him back.

We better pray that Cintron doesn't have a good game.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 09:33 PM) He is better than an A ball scrub, come on now. He was brought up prematurely by the Marlins and that has contributed to a lot of his struggles. He is better than Terrero, has similar, if not greater, power (1st ML HR = 493 feet), he is fast, plays good defense, and can become a respectable major leaguer. I'm always accused of praising Cubs players too much...but Abercrombie sucks. He won't make their big league roster.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 08:58 PM) I am sure the Wellness Program is a joke. Oh yeah...I find it funny that some people are pointing to it as reasons why steroids can't be blamed. I'm with you though, it's going to get annoying the next few months with the crap wrestling's going to get.

Miscellaneous "White Sox" Trade Notes
fathom replied to Kalapse's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
I've talked to someone much closer to Rocco than anyone on here, and there's a lot of concern that his physical condition has declined so much that he'll never be the player that he was capable of becoming. When you combine that with our other injury issues and the big asking price, I'd stay for away from him. -
QUOTE(Shadows @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 07:44 PM) Actually, most of their deaths were from drug use more so then they just died from using steroids.. It will be interesting to see if all of these baseball juicers from the last decade start dropping dead in their 40s due to enlarged hearts, etc.

I heard about him hanging himself in the weight room about two hours after the news broke yesterday, but didn't want to start the rumor. I don't think this is a case of roid rage. From the sound of it, Benoit's been a troubled individual for a while now.

Kenny Williams not allowing teams to negotiate with Buehrle
fathom replied to Steve9347's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 03:48 PM) This is great news, imo, because it sounds like the Sox still plan on negotiating him this off-season, even after he is dealt. I don't like this line of thinking, as it might lessen the package we'll receive. I honestly don't think there's any way that we can trade Buehrle and then re-sign him after this season is over. I don't really see why he'd want to do that. -
Cardinals Interested in Buehrle?
fathom replied to RudyLawRules's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 02:47 PM) The more interest the better. Demand + one pitcher = lots of items coming back. I hope everyone jumps on this. If we see an injury on one of the teams we could see the price jump quite a bit. It would be splendid if one of the Mets starting pitchers or Dodgers starting pitchers gets injured. Also, it wouldn't hurt if Gappard gets rocked tonight for the Red Sox. -
QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 01:26 PM) Any talks with the Mets would begin with Fernando Martinez. Anything other than him and I am not interested in dealing with the Mets. In dealing Contreras? There's maybe 7 or 8 guys I'd consider in order to deal him and his 20 million dollars left and declining strike out rate. QUOTE(IowaSoxFan @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 01:01 PM) Contreras is a pitcher that throws 93-95, has playoff and WS experience. He would be going to a park that would better suit his pitching style. He may be a little older, but older pitchers are having more and more success. He definitely has value to the right team. Dont sell him too short. He has been slumping, but he still is a well thought of pitcher He hasn't thrown 95 mph in over a year. His fastball sits around 89 mph now, and his forkball is nowhere near the pitch it once was.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 05:07 AM) I'd love to get Matt Murton. Hell, if the Cubs think they can compete I'd send Buehrle to the northsiders for Murton, Rich Hill, and Felix Pie. I'd probably do Mmac for Murton and a low level spect. He gives us a legitimate left field bat that projects to be a pretty good hitter, imo. You couln't get either Hill or Pie for Buehrle.

QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 04:34 AM) Ahh yes, that's right. If everything goes bad with a person, I don't get why they have to take other people's lives. He could of took a leave of abscense from the WWE (if they have that there), and got things straight. Sadly, things aren't that simple for people, especially if depression is involved (I've heard just horrific stories about people being shells of their former selves).

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 03:56 AM) I'm just looking at it from a Sox point of view, and if this was my team, I would be upset about what took place tonight. Ya it nice to win these games that you blow, but to have the back end of the bullpen blow up on you like that is not a place I would like to be, at least if this team is supposed to be a contender. Yes, but it's not like it was their closer who blew the game. Dempster's supposed to be back in a few days, I believe.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 03:49 AM) I just have to laugh. Yes, they are in a terrible division, but it's amazing how excited Cub fans are about a 36-39 team. They have a long, long way to go. Yep, it's just disturbing to see them winning all of these close games now. If they had been having this type of luck earlier in the year, they'd be right up there with the Brewers. Now, they're getting every break imaginable.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 03:44 AM) Exciting win, but you can't feel that good after giving up a 6 spot in the 9th. Uh huh...I hate those f***ers. This baseball season just gets worse and worse.
-
I hate you Kaz Matsui. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 03:27 AM) HAHAHA, good to know the world is right and the Cubs still suck at life. And the Brew Crew already won. Nice jinx! Soriano's won the Cubs 4 straight games now.
-
QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 03:29 AM) I would like to see him on the Sox, but I think the Cubs and Padres may be at it again. fathom... how about that fan going out to have some "words" with Howry... LOL It would make sense, as Jones is from San Diego.
-
QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 03:22 AM) I am thinking a trade of Jacque Jones will be announced tonight after the Cub game... stay tuned. Go Rockies... don't call it comeback. TULO! A trade to the Sox? And yes, that swing by Troy T. was fantastic.
-
All hell is breaking loose in Cubs game. Eyre/Howry gave up 6 runs in like 3 minutes to blow the lead, and a fan went out to tackle Howry after it.
-
QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 02:58 AM) Just b/c they were found in 3 different rooms doesn't mean Chris or his wife did it. It's possible the killer broke in quietly, killed the wife, snuck up behind Chris and killed him, then maybe went up (or down) and killed the son When the sheriff says that they're not pursuing anyone in this case, I'd imagine the evidence is overwhelming that someone in the house is responsible.
-
Another report I just saw states that the item used in at least two of the deaths was found at the scene.
-
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 02:48 AM) How? There were no gun shots. Would he have used a knife? Not sure, but it's on multiple stations now in the southeast. All three of them were found in separate rooms.
-
Reports out of Atlanta now are that it's being investigated as a murder-suicide, with Benoit killing his wife last night, and then taking his own life today. I pray this isn't true.
-
It was obviously sarcasm by Guillen....good to see he can still have fun (and yes, I'm serious).
-
I'm happy for Danks that he got the win.
