Where was this strike zone the whole game?
-
Another productive game for Iguchi. He can't leave soon enough.
-
Hopefully they'll try and throw inside to Iguchi, and hit him with the pitch.
-
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:51 AM) Gload would've hit a granny. Nice job Thong Song. Now let's win it! He did have quite the grand slam last year.
-
Nice job by Sisco. Can we at least get a hit to tease me?
-
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:48 AM) Uh no. We have enough of that approach on the team. Ask Gooch what pulling does. He has gotten progressively worse with his hitting as he has had more time to work with our coaches. His first time up against Johan santana he hits the ball the other way. Now 2 years later he looks just as foolish as pullem paulie. I trust Sweeney a lot more though...it's all in the hips. The times he hasn't cleared his hips on inside pitches this year, he's hit weak grounders on the infield. When he's opened up on the slow stuff, he's hit rockets.

Great.....now a walk scores a run.
-
QUOTE(danman31 @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:44 AM) Yeah, and his swing didn't look much better in the 2nd at bat, but he drew a walk. Of course he went and hit a HR later, but a lot of people would be (and were) upset to see him swinging harder and longer. I might be the only one, but I want to see Sweeney swing harder and pull the ball. The only thing was that he didn't look smooth with his swing in his first AB.

I'd do anything to have Gload back for Sisco.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:40 AM) Dejesus coming into tonight: Against RHP: .277 BA, .754 OPS Against LHP: .286 BA, .864 OPS I'm betting the WGN won't run this garbage propoganda commercial come late June. I love Sisco's pinpoint control.

QUOTE(danman31 @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:39 AM) Also, keep treating me like a total piece of s*** and acting like you are never wrong about baseball. I really appreciate getting responses like you are making me laugh and that was the dumbest thing said on this board (the 2nd one wasn't you). I'm just stating an opinion and making observations. We've drawn an insane few amount of walks since Thome went out....it was shocking to see someone lay off an offspeed pitch twice in one night on a full count. The funny thing is there were people after his first AB saying he didn't look that good with his swing.
-
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:39 AM) 3 f***ing funs against the toliet of pitching. It all started with Iguchi going out of his way to pull an offspeed pitch with the infield back and no outs, runner on 3rd.
-
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:37 AM) Hell we have people on this board bashing our rookies who reach base every PA including hitting a homer. I'm still holding out hope that was sarcasm.
-
Hawk really is Grandma Erstad.
-
QUOTE(danman31 @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:35 AM) I feel a little better after looking at Alex Gordon's stats. .164 with 37 strikeouts in 110 at bats. At least he walks (has 13), but damn, the Royals rushed him. Those are sub Anderson numbers. Imagine how much we would hate Gordon on this board? I like that the Royals rushed him. He had nothing left to accomplish in the minors. They know they're not competing for the title this year, so why not get him experience.
-
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:36 AM) Grienke's numbers coming in: 5.80 ERA, 1.79 WHIP So far after this game: 5.35 ERA, 1.68 WHIP Was there ever any doubt as soon as we saw him warming up in the pen?
-
This is a great cause....but these hitters have been swinging a pink bat all year.
-
Best wishes to Cintron. Gonzalez should start at 2nd base, and Iguchi should start looking for real estate back in Japan.
-
Aren't players in their free agent year supposed to do good? I hate this f***ing offense so much. KW deserves so much blame for not upgrading the crap we saw all during the 2nd half last year. At least we have more AAAA pitchers.
-
Holy s*** does this offense suck. Greinke's going to finish off this game.
-
Ironic that Dye makes an out on a play he would be 20 feet away from.
-
So we have Dye, Mackowiak, Crede, Iguchi, Sweeney, and Erstad to get us one run. Someone please hit a homer. QUOTE(danman31 @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:28 AM) People are calling him a god and all this garbage. It just bothers me when Scott Podsednik was hitting .300 and people value him like a piece of s*** and Sweeney has played like an average Major League hitter and everyone is gaga over him. Greinke has an excellent change-up, and Sweeney took the 3-2 pitch beautifully. Way too many hitters on this team don't know how to work the count for a walk. I think Thome has more walks than the rest of the team combined.
-
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:26 AM) "The hitters are just putting too much pressure on themselves." "It's not technically summer yet, so it's okay we're not hitting." "It's a domino effect -- one hitter starts pressing, and then the other guy starts pressing. Poor guys!" "Injuries!" Am I missing anything? "This team is too talented not to get on a roll"....wait a second, that was last year's battle cry.
-
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:23 AM) The theory of lift and pull as an offensive strategy needs to be put to bed on the southside forever. This is a f***ing joke that this craphole pitching staff of the Royals is holding us to 3 runs. The Tigers put a 9 spot on this crap, The indians would put a 9 spot on this. The aenmic Oakland offense torched them for 17 runs, and no they are looking like Cy Young again. Well, hopefully after this year, Ozzie will pull a Tubby Smith and quit after being told he has to fire an assistant.
-
QUOTE(danman31 @ May 13, 2007 -> 01:20 AM) Look at the replay of that 3-2 pitch, the catcher caught it just above the dirt. Talk about a joke. That's one of the dumbest comments in the history of this board.
