Politte had amazing control that year. He started to lose it towards the end of the season, but his control for 90 pct of the year was what Aardsma's control in April was like.

Unless the Yanks are paying about 80 pct of Abreu's contract, this would be the type of move that would destroy our teams chances the next few years also. Abreu makes a lot of money, and he's worthless against LHP also. His defense is pathetic as well.

I do agree with you that Buehrle is different than Colon, etc. However, he's having too good of a season this year, and his price is going crazy. Teams like the Mets are going to have a lot of money to spend on quality starting pitching this offseason. I believe it's 28 runs in last 13 innings combined for these guys.

I really hope KW doesn't overpay for some mediocre veteran reliever like Weathers. Hell, trade Crede for Lidge, and give him a shut as our set-up man.
