Could the Giants be a player for Paulie?
You need to lay off the eggnog after that suggestion.

Angels May Consider Trading For Dye or Paulie
I personally don't see a lot of value in the guys he got from the Yankees. Now if he trades Dye or Paulie he has to go out and fill that hole instead of using Swisher in one of the spots.

Angels May Consider Trading For Dye or Paulie
I was just going to ask that. KW screwed up by trading Swisher so early.

Yankees sign Teixeira
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 08:40 PM) Yeah, but he is probably the best first baseman in baseball. Still young, a .300+ hitter, 40 HR, 100 RBI, great walk numbers and gold glover to boot. He is the best at his position. Pujols is by far the best first baseman in any measure.

Red Sox and Angels NOT signing Mark Teixeira
QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Dec 19, 2008 -> 04:02 PM) Am I crazy or should a first baseman never get a deal like this? Maybe Pujols because he is amazing at every part of the game, but he actually took less than he could've gotten on the market when he resigned.

Call Your Crazy!!
Either gonna be the Angels or one of O's/Nats overpaying.

Cabrera probably WON'T go to the Dodgers
Man, some of you guys are just ridiculous about your hatred for OC.

Winter Meetings Chit-Chat
Well, I can think of a few million differences between them.

Winter Meetings Chit-Chat
I'm crossing my fingers he signs with the Dodgers. Rock, you seem confident the Sox will have a signing this week. If you could guess who would it be.

Winter Meetings Chit-Chat
I think it's from a Japanese ad for the Mario game on the Nintendo DS.

Winter Meetings Chit-Chat
You clearly don't know how KW operates if you expect to hear rumblings before a move.

Winter Meetings Chit-Chat
because that's pretty likely to happen. in other news the sun should rise tomorrow.

Ben Sheets? That would be nice. He would hit the DL around the time Jose comes off it. As long as it's not Willy T I'll be happy. Probably.

Sox enter rebuilding phase
It really is too bad, especially since he hit so well last spring training. He just needs to get consistent at bats.

Personal Trade Speculation
Are you drunk?
-
KW to be on the Score
I would do that trade but that is not where I would spend the money.
-
KW to be on the Score
Where do they even slot Lillibridge to play?
-
KW to be on the Score
Rock, what makes you think that? Unless of course by action you mean all of us complaining about the direction of the team.

Is there a list of potential non-tender candidates out there?
I honestly cannot believe the Astros non-tendered Ty Wigginton. He OPSed .876 last year and will make ~8 million in arbitration. He's better than anything we have.
-
Willy Tavaras to be non-tendered
His lack of ability to get on base should be career ending though.
- We need a starter or two

Rumors: Sox/Reds Talking Dye for Bailey Swap
QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Dec 12, 2008 -> 04:36 AM) I'll also add a theory of mine: the main reason there is some apprehension about acquiring Bailey is because when many of us look at that deal from the Reds point of view, we say to ourselves "There's no way I do that deal unless the kid is hurt." It's hard to imagine giving up on a kid that talented for any other reason, but really, that could be the case. Some organizations do highly questionable or outrageously stupid things, like hire Dusty Baker as a manager for instance. His fastball has no movement on it. That's why they would give up on him. Plus as was just shown, they don't really need him.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 09:09 PM) Gabe Gross is another candidate I believe. I keep hearing this and I just can't believe it. Gabe Gross is insanely popular with the TB fans. If he can be the 25th man what's the harm in holding onto him. He may not be very good at all, but do they have someone to replace him?

Sox have inside track on Abreu
At this point last year we already acquired our MVP...

Sox have inside track on Abreu
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 06:44 PM) Was Dunn? Nope, neither was Burrell.
