Sounds good. Let me know the next time Obama eats a burger.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 06:08 PM) I was really hoping Beltre would get another chance to hit a walk-off homer, for the second consecutive day. Ibanez is now 0 for 6 lifetime against Nathan, but I suppose it was a good chance that he might hit another homer...but he should have laid off of the pitch if it wasn't in his wheelhouse. Yeah I agree with giving him the green light to swing too, but it was a pitchers pitch. I watch Nathan pitch a lot and he seems to throw more balls at times instead of strikes, but he gets people to chase them.

Pablo Ozuna just checked in for LAD on ESPN
WilliamTell replied to Steve9347's topic in The Diamond Club
I could see him coming back to the Sox, but we've been fine without him. -
For the non-PC and no offense to anyone. Queer as a $3 bill. Otherwise, Strange as a $3 bill.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 28, 2008 -> 09:40 AM) I just joined the saturday draft league as the 11th team so one more person has to sign up Jeez, why'd you have to do that, now we need another team, way to go. Knightni, if you need me to jump leagues I can do that, both draft times worked for me. Otherwise you know I'm up for 2 teams if we don't have enough people.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 06:22 PM) The original ESPNers were a good group. I was over there as well. Hawkiconk, Rdivaldi, Mike, and a few others were over in the ESPN world. At lot of these guys went to other boards, fell off the end of the universe, or arrived here. ESPN wasnt bad, and we had a lot of good banter with some of the other boards. Ofx over on the ESPN Twins board, Imann over on the ESPN Royals board were a few I got along with quite a bit. One particular anti-fan and his nonsense and the endless trolls trashing the board were the reasons I found myself here. I was with the ESPN boards in 2003 and 2004 and loved it at first. I remember those guys and I got along with Hawkiconk very well. I wonder if any of those guys still post there. Imann was very cool I thought. BoogAlou98 or 95 or whatever his number was, I did not enjoy very much. There was another guy that started with ChiSox and had some numbers after, he was an interesting guy and everyone seemed to hate him, I think Mike might've been his name but I can't remember. Anyways once the new format came for the espn boards, the Sox board and most other boards lost a lot of people. Soxtalk used to be slammed quite a bit, which is how I found out about soxtalk.

Interesting how I can't hear a clear word on Fox News now because the music is too loud and when I turn it to CNN I can hear Wolf Blitzer just fine.

game over, 6-5. That was a bad 3-0 pitch for Ibanez to be swinging at, low and away.
-
Dangit, tying run thrown out at home.

I can't get too upset for the Mariners giving up the lead today after they've won the first two. As far as Cleveland, I'm not too worried about them. They'd have to play .900 ball the rest of the way.

QUOTE (YASNY @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 11:01 AM) If she threw her support to anybody else, she'd be committing political suicide within the party. Exactly my point, I don't understand why people are so excited she supports him, it's pretty obvious that's what she was going to do.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 10:49 AM) I still believe 100% that she wants him to lose so she can run again in 2012. I have seen nothing that shows me otherwise. I agree with that. On the flip side some people are really excited that Hillary showed her support for Obama last night. That's pretty obvious she'll support him, it's not like she's going to support McCain or someone like Ralph Nadar.

Rockies put Taveras + Fuentes on waivers
WilliamTell replied to WinningUgly85's topic in The Diamond Club
ok, that makes sense guys. This waiver stuff just annoys me, most players we hear on it don't get traded, then out of the blue someone like Guardado gets traded. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 08:01 AM) That will be easy, I can't STAND diet pop. I have switched to Gatorade and water mostly. I drink so many ounces of fluids, but I'm close to averaging 100 oz of water a day now. I used to drink almost a gallon of milk a day, but now it takes me 3 days or so to drink a gallon. The 100 oz water idea has really helped.

Rockies put Taveras + Fuentes on waivers
WilliamTell replied to WinningUgly85's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE (YASNY @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 10:26 AM) All teams put a s***load of players on waivers at this time of year. A player can't be traded if he doesn't clear waivers. If he's claimed, the team can just pull him back off of waivers. If they have no desire of getting rid of someone, what's the reason for putting them on waivers in the first place? -
Rockies put Taveras + Fuentes on waivers
WilliamTell replied to WinningUgly85's topic in The Diamond Club
The biggest surprise in this thread to me is the Rockies putting people on waivers. They're only 6 games out in that terrible division. Taveras helps them a lot when he gets on base with his 60 some stolen bases. -
That's cool he's a Sox fan, but it doesn't change my vote for McCain.
-
Thanks Seattle for winning the series, it'd be awesome if you swept them.
-
haha wow..........although I shouldn't make too much fun of that because my song would be "If You Wanna Be Happy" by Jimmy Soul.

Official: Instant replay on home run calls is here
WilliamTell replied to joejoesox's topic in The Diamond Club
Let's just get robots to be umpires as well. I don't mind if it stays this way just for homers, but I'm sure it won't. -
QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 02:29 PM) I never looked at the catch-all thread. Too long and I always read threads based on something catchy in the thread title, that obviously is missed with the Catch-all. Yeah I just always skipped the catch all thread, sometimes before I forgot, other times because it was a completely random thread.
