You know I'm in.

That sucks for them, but it could be good for us if we need to rely on the Wild Card to get into the playoffs even though they're 5.5 games above us.
-
I'd love the Brewers to win the division, but I'd almost rather have them win the Wild Card based on recent history with a Wild Card team being in the World Series every time since 2002. Worst case scenario, Cubs and Twins World Series, I honestly do not know who I'd go for. I don't competely understand the whole Chicago deal because I've never lived in Chicago, but I cannot stand Twins fans around here so I wouldn't want to see them win a World Series.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 03:45 AM) what's that make the Sox then? Sox - 39-18 at home Twins - 39-21 at home That's surprising that we have a better record at home. Since June 1st the Twins are 23-7 at home, the White Sox are 27-9 at home. I didn't realize we've been that good at home.

QUOTE (scenario @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 10:55 PM) I'm a little confused. Floyd won his 12th game but lost a bet? LOL. You'd think that if a guy thought he was going to do well... and then he did... that he would be winning bets not losing them. Yeah maybe he thought he could win 12 games, but if he didn't he was going to win a bet with Jenks, who knows what Jenks would've had to do.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 10:20 AM) No offense to the man, and RIP, but I don't think he counts as filling out the "trifecta." Hopefully the 3rd person was supposed to be Morgan Freeman since he lived, and have no more surprising deaths, but probably not.

The Twins now have a 9 game homestand with the Yankees, Mariners, and A's. Hopefully the Yankees can do some damage to the Twins because I don't see the Mariners having a repeat of last week and the A's are not playing very good ball as of late.

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 07:37 PM) Good work. Don't stop now. 190 is just around the corner. Thanks. I'd love to lose just a pound a week to get to 190 for my 100 mile bike ride in Minnesota over Labor Day weekend. I did a 70 mile bike ride in the end of June and I think I weighed 198 then. So if I get to be a few pounds lighter, and more importantly build more endurance for the ride, I should be good to go. Since my softball games are all done it should be easier to step up my training.

QUOTE (Shadows @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 08:31 PM) Which is funny considering how deceivingly crappy he seems this season, yet all his numbers are right there. Yeah he has turned his season around, it's just the clutch factor that remains terrible for Thome.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 08:28 PM) "miles ahead" is not any way I would describe Hamilton at this point. This is a dead heat. I don't know if you're refering to my "miles ahead" comment at the begining of the thread, but I said he's miles ahead in RBI's. Being more than 20 RBI's ahead is 3-4 weeks of RBI's ahead of Quentin, that's all I was saying. I never said he's miles ahead in winning the MVP.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 05:10 PM) I fixed it for you. I'm talking about beach volleyball, water polo, bike racing, swimming with Phelps, not stuff like diving, equestrian, dancing. -
QUOTE (Noberto Martin @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 11:48 AM) the AL would eat Maddux alive Yeah now's not the time to switch leagues for Maddux.

Tony Pena, Jr. entered the game batting .148 and 1 of 16 aginst the Twins. He went 2 for 2 today.

QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 04:58 PM) He balked and he knew it. oh yeah he balked, the replay made it obvious. 3 up 3 down, bottom of the 12th now.

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 11:18 AM) I remember when he sang the 7th inning stretch in Game 6 for Cubs/Marlins and said "Root, root, root for the champs!" and cursed them even more. I'll love him for that. It's pathetic that Cubs fans blame him for the loss along with Bartman. Don't blame Bernie Mac, don't blame Bartman, blame your players. At the time I was pretty pissed he called the Cubs CHAMPS.

Picked off at 1st, close to a balk though.

Punto, one of the original Piranhas, is really sucking. 0-6 with 4 strikeouts and 0 for his last 9 with 6 strikeouts. Olivo singles, lead off man aboard.

It's fun watching the Olympics. Yesterday that bike race had an awesome finish. Then there are other sports that you never get to see, only at the Olympics. -
I'm down to 194, the lightest I've been in 2 years. Keep it up guys.
-
RIP I loved him as chef on Southpark, but I know he did many more important things compared to that. I loved his voice.

Lamb at 2nd, 1 out. Harris, the double king, is coming up to bat. Watch the left field line please.
-

And what does he do, get a base hit. Winning run at 3rd. 1 out.
