QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 4, 2014 -> 07:04 PM) Smith also overthrew a gimme TD that could've almost iced the game. If they would've converted a touchdown with first and goal from the 2 yard line it would've been a different game too............or Junior Hemingway paying attention when Dwayne Bowe wanted to lateral it to him. Yeah the overthrow wasn't good, looked like Davis had a little stutter step on it too.

I knew damn well this game was over once Smith fumbled even though KC had a 3 touchdown lead. It's just how us Chiefs fans roll. 20 years and counting without a playoff win.....

I'm doing this playoff fantasy challenge thing. It's quite unusual, at least I've never heard of it. You have to pick 1 player from each playoff team, 12 players altogether. You get 2 QB's 3 RB's 4 WR's 1 TE 1 K 1 Defense. So obviously there's a lot of strategy involved, meaning you probably want your kicker and defense done after 1 game and your quarterbacks to go 3, heck maybe 4 games. And theoretically people could have the exact same team. I've backed myself into a corner, I can't decide who to take as my 4th WR. Keenan Allen or T.Y. Hilton. I think Allen will do better against Cincinnati and I'm leaning towards him, but that means my kicker would have to be Adam Vinatieri. And I think Indianapolis has a much better chance of winning compared to San Diego. It's either Hilton WR (IND)/ Novak K (SD) or Allen WR (SD)/ Vinatiera K (IND) This what I'm leaning towards right now. QB T. Brady QB C. Kaepernick RB M. Lynch RB L. McCoy RB J. Charles WR D. Thomas WR A.J. Green WR J. Nelson WR K. Allen TE J. Graham K A. Vinatieri Def Carolina -
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 3, 2014 -> 07:47 PM) If The Officer brings Chris in as his bench coach he has the support of the Widgenation. Of course Widger left on bad terms with the front office here I believe so that won't happen. I'm all for Dave Martinez. I think he may have murdered 2 or 3 people however since he has not landed a job yet. Why doesn't Dave Martinez get a shot at being a manager anyways. I'd give him a try for sure, but I don't run the team or pay the salary of course. Love the Lyle Mouton reference!

Alright, who will be the jerk to vote against Greg Maddux?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 1, 2014 -> 06:46 PM) http://screenrant.com/female-expendables-movie/ Cast for female Expendables? How much interest is there for a movie like this? Lone Survivor... I cried... Like 4 times. I'm a sucker for war movies. It didn't get to me like Saving Private Ryan, for example, but it was a lot more emotional than Zero Dark Thirty. Black Hawk Down is about the closest comparison for it (the post 1990's wars) that I can think of off the top of my head. Act of Valor, last year's SEALS movie, wasn't nearly as good...not even close. Just started watching Redford's ALL IS LOST. I'd probably pass on seeing the female version but I couldn't be certain until I saw a trailer for it and who's actually in it. Give me Angelina Jolie and I'm in!

Probably nobody cares about another game but I'm sorry Pittsburgh Steelers fans with how the Chiefs folded in the 4th and missed a field goal at the end of the game, and just sucked most of the 2nd half. Granted I suppose Kansas City had the luxury to not care about the outcome but I still hate not being able to win the game, especially on a missed field goal.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 04:21 PM) Yup. That touchback call was also bulls***. Not watching the game but there are a few teams you generally don't want to play when seasons are on the line. In no order: 1. Patriots 2. Peyton Manning's team 3. Steelers 4. Packers 5. Cowboys lol probably others too.......

And speaking of numbers, #5 is always switching hands, it really gets around. 9 different guys in the last 12 seasons. Just saw that #39 has had 11 different players in 12 years, what an odd number........

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 12:50 PM) With the history of baseball, it would be really odd to see a guy in a suit and tie going out to switch pitchers. I'd even have a hard time picturing a manager going out to switch pitchers in khakis and a polo. I'd think he was a trainer or something. Managers wearing uniforms is just one of those things that's always happened probably. Seeing a basketball coach wear the uniform would generally be disgusting, while seeing a football coach where all the pads would look down right hilarious. Managers wearing uniforms is just tradition and sometimes you don't mess with tradition.

White Sox may have quite the interesting off season.

It's always funny listening to Dick Vitale broadcast ACC teams. Just loves Duke and North Carolina year in and year out. Was a hug Maryland fan when they were good, and I'm sure he'll love Syracuse even more. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 08:40 PM) 8 on 5 lol definitely not picking fights with all the Bulls fans but that's how I felt in Game 6 of the '98 Finals. I remember Marv Alberts saying Utah would have to win by more than 5 to beat Chicago because of 2 bad shot clock calls from the refs. Either way Jordan's infamous shot probably would've came in game 7 anyways! -

QUOTE (scs787 @ Nov 28, 2013 -> 11:11 PM) Got my "f*** the soft nfl rules" post queued up if I lose by the 6 points Le'veon Bell should have got on that brutal play. Hope he's alright. Should be alright though after getting 79 points out of my killer B's Bell, Bush, and Big Ben. lol I lost 12 points in one of my leagues because Heath Miller can't stretch out the last 12 inches to get into the end zone! -

It's something else seeing all these Alabama fans near tears, or the little kids that have tears. They've been treated extremely fortunately and well the last few seasons so overall they have nothing to be upset about. Plus this is college football, who knows if it's really over just yet....... If only the White Sox could win 3 of 4 World Series! -
I would love to have Wieters, but only if the price is right, which I would fear we'd vastly overpay for him. I just think Wieters has too much talent not to figure it out in some way. He's not going to be the "Joe Mauer with power" sort of guy I remember one article saying, but eventually I think he'll come around. Right now in his career I'd put him with Alex Gordon. The Royals were hoping for the next George Brett which hasn't happened, but he has improved over the course of his career. There were numerous people in this site hoping Kenny Williams would try to trade for him when the Royals were sending him back to the minors, me being one as well. Since then over the past 3 seasons on average he's batted .287, 19 HR's, 41 2B's, 80 RBI's, 13 SB's, along with 3 Gold Gloves and WAR average of 6 in those 3 years. Still wish the Sox could've gotten him somehow! Not saying Wieters can turn it around to even the extent of Gordon, but wouldn't mind giving him a chance.

Gotta love the West Coast Arms race (literally) with San Francisco and Los Angeles.

What a smart move by Belichick basically drawing Denver's timeout.

Is Bill Belichick doing is best Marty Mornhinweg impression? Taking the wind and not the ball. I guess we'll find out!

This is extremely last minute but I can't decide between D. Bowe of KC or M. Floyd of Arizona. Murphy's Law will prevail in this case! -

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 17, 2013 -> 08:14 PM) Probably third or fourth best team in the Big 12 this year behind Kansas, Oklahoma State and about on par with Baylor. Cool cool, I'll generally watch them when they're on TV. Hoping UNI will keep it close in a few weeks!
