QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 02:07 AM) Dude Charlie is dead. I know. But as I said, I'm wondering who the rest of the world has been lead to believe the other two people who survived the crash were. Since Jack said there were eight. Possibly Charlie is one of them, because he really is dead, and could not be brought back during the rescue.
-
I'm well aware Jack was lying, but I thought it could give us some insight as to what the public has been lead to believe about what happened. Since they are known as the 'Oceanic 6' I wonder who they are considering as the other two. Possibly Charlie and someone else 'big' who will die
-
In trial did Jack say there were 8 people who survived the crash?

Stupid can now mean you have a lot of something Jill: should I get some soda at the store? Jack: no, we are stupid with Pepsis

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 10:20 AM) I'm certain some stat head has done this, but for example, what would have been Pods Slugging % if you credited him with a double on all his SBs and took away any singles when he was caught? By brain starts to hurt figuring that out, but I think it would be interesting. Year Real SLG "Adjusted" SLG Δ 2005 .349 .420 .071 2006 .353 .393 .040 2007 .369 .402 .033 But a stolen base does not move anybody over

That would make for a much more interesting thread

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 09:13 PM) So what are they saying in terms of Pythagorean this year? I was saying that PECOTA had us at 72 wins last year and 77 this year. That is +5 wins with over a +100 run differential. +104 runs should equate to about 8-10 wins, not 5. You must have the wrong 2007 PECOTA projection.. 2007 PECOTA RS = 765 2007 PECOTA RA = 857 2007 PECOTA Pythag = [(765)^2]/[((765)^2)+((857)^2)] = .443 2007 PECOTA W-L = 72-90 ------------------------------- 2008 PECOTA RS = 780 2008 PECOTA RA = 822 2008 PECOTA Pythag = [(780)^2]/[((780)^2)+((822)^2)] = .474 2008 PECOTA W-L = 77-85

**** for In Bruges. Very funny/offensive, very dark, very unpredictable. Really good performances by Farrell and Gleeson.
-
Preach. Yes, they over shot Buehrle, Garland, and Vazquez. For those three pitchers, the ERA prediction was off by an average of 0.86. So almost a full run.

Make a wild or bold predicition for the 2008 Sox

Anyone from the Texas chapter going to games at Arlington?

Maybe people don't know the distinction. Brands like Lucky are to upscale designer jeans as Olive Garden is to fine Italian dining.

A 24 year-old making over $80k and complaining about the $250 removed from his rebate Where's that violin smiley?

Yeah it was KC. He was so amped for the start. He pumped his fist after every strikeout. I tried to make a gif of it but failed.

QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 08:26 PM) Read it again. He said that he liked Grandma's Boy. Yeah but in the context he used it, he made it seem like he's the only one who likes it. It's hilarious though.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 07:10 PM) Wild Wilderness or whatever it is called is without a doubt the worst movie I have ever seen. That is no exaggeration. And that's from someone who loved another recent Happy Madison movie in Grandma's Boy. Come on Grandma's Boy is funny as hell

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 04:01 PM) Took this from another thread. This has been kind of said here, but the majority of people I talk to don't give a damn about this year's Super Bowl. The Super Bowl! It almost seems like most people are watching it out of obligation. People go out of their way to watch a golf tournament, because Tiger Woods is playing. Must be because you are surrounded by Colts fans Patriots-Giants was most-watched Super Bowl ever

Yeah, I know it's not. I'm trying to point out you can't look at the Sox record with and then without Podsednik to determine his worth to the team. Because in years 2006 and 2007 when Podsednik was playing worse than 2005, we had a larger improvement in our winning percentage in his starts. Which makes no sense.

I think the person in the coffin is Michael. On the Wednesday scrolling-notes show they said a very popular theory was that the man in the coffin was from New York, and I'm not 100% sure but I think Michael lived in a big city by himself in an apartment before getting Walt. And Jack would be somewhat torn about his death but obviously he is not a friend because Michael sold them to the Others to get Walt back. It's pretty cool that for the first three seasons we get only flashbacks to show us the past of each character, now it looks like the final seasons we will get flashforwards instead.
