Soxtalk and YASNY featured in Sports Illustrated

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 22, 2006 -> 06:10 PM) That was hard. Engineers just get things done. -
QUOTE(SHAFTR @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 02:10 PM) Or you could just realize that the alternative to Scott Podsednik in left was Timo Perez (appeared in Left in 27 games last year) & Pablo Ozuna (9 games). And don't forget Crede was also injured during that period, making Geoff Blum an everyday starter.

QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 01:53 PM) If he is used in a true loogy fashion and is thereby protected by just facing a lefthander here and there, big leads not-withstanding, he could go a long way to being a true contributer this year. I saw him hit 91 mph on one fastball. Hitters react like he is throwing 95. You make the job of a LOOGY sound much easier than it is. If he were used in true LOOGY fashion, then it is Logan's job to come in to get out the toughest of left-handed batters, sometimes two in one appearance. Think Sizemore/Hafner or Giambi/Matsui. He's not just strolling out to face the number eight or nine hitter who happens to be left-handed, because that batter will be pinch-hit for. I think we really have next to nothing in terms of evidence that Logan can fill a true LOOGY role, and common sense tells me that throwing him into this situation for a team like ours is asking too much. If all you want is someone to eat up an inning now and then against the average left-handed batter, then Logan should be left in the minors to develop while Lopez or some other pitcher from the lefty lottery fills that role.

I have to forfeit this week. Serb would've killed me anyway.

I have heard of it, was intrigued because Cheryl Hines is associated with it. Pretty good.

Anyone want a sig bet that this is a mistake?

QUOTE(bmags @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 11:11 PM) i think he's a converted jew. So he basically rips off everything.lolz You think wrong my friend.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 01:17 AM) Ozuna it's going anywhere. Ozuna: it's what's happening!

For some reason, I can't stand this statement that shows up everyday it seems: "wow...just wow." Could barely type that right there.
-
The only reason soxtalk thinks Gload has an attitude problem is because a member here totally misinterpreted something Gload said in the locker room and decided to start a thread calling him out on not being a team player.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 05:16 PM) I'm not saying that Ozuna should or shouldn't be on the roster. But he possesses two abilities that Ozzie seems to love -- speed and bunting. I'm pretty sure Ozzie will want to keep him on the roster over Gload. I've brought this up two times now, but I think Cintron can bunt well because when he played a full season, he had 12 sacrifice hits. One more than anyone on this team had last season, and we lead the league in sacrifices. Also I've heard from a reputable fan in Arizona that Cintron has above average speed. So Cintron basically eliminates the need for a Pablo Ozuna unless you really want to waste a roster spot just to have a slight advantage in some pinch-running situations. I want Gload on this team (and Ozuna sent down) but my gut says he gone.

QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 12:46 PM) Lets see....he's the fastest player on the team, is a good situational hitter, can bunt, and is well-liked in the clubhouse. Yep.....seems like there's no spot for him. Fastest if Pods has weights tied to his legs. Stole 2 bases in every 3 attemps, great. Cintron had 12 sacrifice hits couple years ago, I'm just assuming he can bunt. Ozuna would never be selected over Cintron on the depth chart at anything other than LF, which he is horrible at.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 12:12 PM) hahahahahahaaha!!!! I had a good laugh with this one. Why? I don't see the point in giving Ozuna a roster spot.
-
I'd still take Borchard and Gload.
-
Borchard and Gload are out of options, and bringing up one of Sweeney, Fields, or Owens is insane.
-
QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 05:45 PM) I am not counting him out. Reading soxtalk though you would think we have 10 players in the minors that have the ability to be starters in the majors... when in reality we may have one or two. You should just shut up because you're not a real fan.

New Matisyahu album is pretty solid. Little more diverse musically I'd say than the last two. You'll be seeing it rotating through my sig for awhile.

QUOTE(Felix @ Mar 5, 2006 -> 11:59 PM) I don't know if this is a joke or not, but either way, I'm laughing pretty hard over here. Look for my original answer on the first page or two, and you will be relieved to know I'm not abusing crack. First five years: 40 hr/year, 45 2b/year, 124 rbi/year, .332 avg, 1.04 ops, never less than 590 ab's... There is a right answer here.
