QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Apr 12, 2006 -> 08:10 AM) I would love to see someone like Guillen, whom Pedro has plunked several times, turn to the catcher in his first at bat and say something like "You go tell Pedro right now that if I get hit at all, I turn around and hit you up side your knees with this bat. No charging the mound, i take it out on you, before the rest of the team can come out and get between us." You think the catcher would be calling all outside stuff for him to throw the rest of the game? Hitting batters is almost a part of the game. When batters wear armor and hang their elbows over the plate, I would be aiming for that every time. but some pitchers get so arrogant, like Pedro, that is is over the top. I would almost give even money that Padro gets plunked himself in the next game with the nats, fines and suspensions be damned. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmFyW0g-wRM...baseball%20kick

The best part was using Carousel as the opener.

Welker started for Kanny today at second base. Looks like he may get some work there due to Hernandez being the Intimidators' starting catcher.

The link wasn't showing up for me either Keith. I think it must be removed after a certain period of time?

QUOTE(rventura23 @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 12:39 AM) didnt the 102 million figure not take into consideration payments to the sox from other teams (like the phillies for Thomes)? Correct, look at Cheat's table for the adjusted figure.

How much do the Sox get for that brand new "OwnACondo.com" ad on the right field wall?

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 08:37 PM) Are you saying I'm seeing things? I hope you're refering to yourself because your pre-edited post obviously had the "$" after 10,000. I don't think you know my boss who only cares about making money. He doesn't give a s*** about how much money his employees make. Do you work at Dairy Queen?

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:22 PM) this will be 3-0 in no time. Luckily Belliard just jumped out of the way of a 2-0 game.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 01:19 PM) 1-0 Indians on the sac fly by Martinez. Anderson has trouble getting the ball out of his glove. No he just took too damn long. I hope he played it like that just to make sure he caught the ball or something because that was poor.

QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 11:41 AM) I'd love to watch this.... if MLB.TV didn't black me out for no goddamn reason. And their customer support line is busy, weee! It's on WGN today, you may have a chance..

Too simplistic and uncreative for me. Gives mood-ring vibes.

The theme song on her website is 'Golddigger'. At least she's up-front.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 01:34 PM) Describe, I've had a few ideas on how to do it, I want to know what you had in mind. Like the electric meter on your house, where the numbers rotate on wheels and display in a slightly offset manner. As I said, throw-up sick.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 01:29 PM) Boone singles to CF, Broussard to 3B. Have you tried yet to display the stats in your sig so it looks like an actual meter? Probably too hard, but would be sick.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 01:25 PM) Victor Martinez goes deep. How deep was it though?

I think I just saw Chisoxfan14 standing with her friend in the rain.

QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 08:46 PM) Hm, restart for 11:30 PM for me. Tomorrow morning should be fun. Dude, aren't you a triple-major? ~5-6 hours sleep should excite you.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 04:54 PM) Avoid this scenario and I may resist pulling up choke avatars. Mine's on bookmark and is ready for immediate restoration.

Carlos Lee To Cubs Deal Imminent?????
3E8 replied to South Side Fireworks Man's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 01:49 AM) I read about 3 pages of this thread and the only one that seems to have realistic grasp on things is JimH. Not really. This is a quote from the author in his most recent White Sox rumor. He even linked the Carlos Lee to Cubs story under the words 'April Fooling'. Cheat was right from the get-go. -
QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 01:44 PM) In the next offseason, it makes sense. Ok I thought you were talking about keeping this group of 6 around past this season. None of them are getting traded in the near future.
-
QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 01:22 PM) Why would we trade anyone? Every team must have a 6th starter, either in the pen or AA/AAA. If any of our 6 sp gets dealt, who's our emergency plan? Cotts? Broadway? Haeger? Do we even need to discuss why those are all horrible options? We have 6 good sp but virtually no depth. The Sox were killed for years in having an abysmal 5th starter. Do we want to be one injury away from that situation? Because you don't keep a sixth starter that could be a number 2 or 3 in other rotations. Just not how things work. At this rate McCarthy will hit arb without ever being used as a starter for a full season. That's why you trade one of the pitchers making $10M, stick McCarthy in the rotation, spend ~$1-2M on your 6th starter backup plan, use the rest of the money to address greater needs.
