QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Mar 22, 2006 -> 01:17 PM) I just had a 15 minute battle with my contact lenses today. This was the first time I really had to get them in myself. Not cool. I'm hoping this gets a lot easier. I have my follow-up on Saturday and I'm hoping things work out by then; if not, I'm out. That's kind of a long time, even for a beginner, but it will get easier. I hate to ask a stupid question, but are they in properly? I'm assuming you have soft lenses, so they curve both ways. Look for the natural curvature of the lense and put them in that way. If you do the opposite, you can still get them in, but they'll feel awful. I'm not explaining it well, sorry.

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Mar 22, 2006 -> 05:41 PM) I still think that. I did say "most" posters, not "all". I think the general reaction was just wait-and-see, and some tittering and chatter. Not really accusatory. And I haven't seen the SI story, but it would be awful funny if journalists attacked anonymous internet posters for irresponsible reporting. Jmho. Jackie, you made a clear and very good point back then. I only pulled up our quotes because I found it kinda funny that we were discussing it back then and now it's happening. I haven't read the SI story either. -

From that thread: Los: "If everyone can trace this rumor to this site, it better be true, or we're gonna get ripped.' Jackie Hayes: "Disagree. I think most posters have been pretty cautious. And if the national media utters a single word based on such a flimsy source, it won't be the source that looks ridiculous. " -

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Mar 22, 2006 -> 10:56 AM) I think I might be the type of person that doesn't get addictated to anything. I tried smoking cigarettes for about a week when I was younger. I didn't like the last one I had anymore than the first one. I certainly didn't get any kind of a buzz from them either. I guess I'm weird because I'm not affected by alcohol or nicotine. I'm the same way. I refuse to believe that a drug is addictive to 100% of users from the 1st try. You always read stats on addicts, I'd like to hear how many people have tried things once or twice and didn't get hooked, or just party 'recreationally'. I know people who party like rock stars on Saturday nights, but on Monday morning they are at work at 7:30 am and ready to go and they stay pretty much clean during the week, except for a beer or two at a happy hour. . They also have careers, homes, cars, families and apparently some 'play' money.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 04:27 PM) So, I just got contacts today and it feels like I constantly have tears in my eyes. Is that normal? It almost feels blurry. They feel blurry, or things LOOK blurry? If things look blurry, that's not good. Give it a about a week and maybe go back. Having moist eyes is a good thing, it keeps the contacts comfortable. When your eyes go dry, they'll feel like sandpaper.

I support the decision 100%. Big breasts are so 80's, think cheesy Motely Crue videos. It's all about a big rump now, Bottylicious, My humps, J-Lo etc.

QUOTE(bmags @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 01:17 AM) i don't think i've ever felt i've done a drug to fit in. Curiosity is what kills the cat. I do both and i don't think much of it. I think its far less of a moral issue than its made out to be. I have a bunch of friends that don't drink or anything and we respect them for it and they don't question us. True friends wouldn't pressure somebody to go against their convictions. But yeah i doubt more than 30% of high school kids both smoke and drink on a regular basis. Curiosity has been my only motivation. I think drugs are like Russian roulette, some people can do them occasionally and not get hooked and have it take over their lives and some people can't. The problem is, you never know which person you are until you try them and if there is a bullet in the chamber, you're f***ed. I guess I've been lucky in that I've tried some potentially addictive drugs out of curiosity and never got hooked.

QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 03:47 PM) he's married and his a kid, don't be too impressed. Not sure why him in a picture with two women is impressive at all. For all we know, it's family.

Oh yeah. I'll be traveling with two Cub fans so here's the plan: Sat. the 17th catch the Sox/Reds game in Cincy Sun. the 18th visit the Rock n Roll hall of fame and maybe the Football HOF, time permitting. Not sure if either place is open on Sun. Mon. the 19th catch the Indians/Cubs game in Cleve. All within driving distance. The schedules couldn't have been more cooperative.

Interesting, I always thought 'Mick' was just the Irish short for Michael, just like Mike.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 20, 2006 -> 06:05 PM) I disagree with your assessment of how it feels. Its entirely different. It feels much much different than caffeine, and much better. The first time you try it, you are hooked, and you constantly want more and more and more. It really is an evil drug. It was the same for me the few times I tried it. Waste of money.

Coke is a big waste of time and money. Drink 3 pots of coffe in like 20 minutes, you'll feel the exact same way. If I need to be that amped up to do soemthing, I probably have no business doing it.

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 05:57 PM) Why does every teenager drink or smoke pot? What's so great about it? I'm not encouraging you to try it, but until you do, you'll never know and it could never be explained to you. Just say no.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 20, 2006 -> 12:32 PM) These guys are trying to get the slime angle on this. They are trying to get Joe to say something negative. So far he is taking the high road. Good luck in Seattle Joe. Who conducted the interview?

I know there's a long way to go and it can go in a few different directions, but the whole keeping the audience off base with what is real and what is a flashback and what are coma induced thoughts is kinda cheap. By the way, AJ looks like Jack Black minus 40 lbs. and 10 years.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 20, 2006 -> 11:39 AM) Borchard isn't going to get any playing time with Seattle unless one or two of Ibanez, Reed, Ichiro, Everett, or Lawton gets injured. Yep, if Joe was getting frustrated here, it might be time for him to dust off that football helmet....unless Seattle plans to ship him off in another deal to come.
