... 2 random thoughts: Why use Pedro when they did? What do you think Nomar is thinking?

Big Stein
The 'A-Rod curse' continues, has that guy ever won?

Redandwhite: Your boys finally made it
Awesome, I didn't think it was possible, I'm glad I was wrong. How about the ex-Twins/ex-White Sox factor? D. Ortiz and Doug Mein. vs. Loaiza, Gordon.

Game 7
Boston's best bet is to jump out to an early lead and then hold em, like yesterday. If I'ts close late in the game, Yankees will win.

the insight of Tim McCarver
and that's potentially a very big distinction.

Game 7
anyone care to make final score predictions??

Credit Where It's Due
Good point, even though the replays would have shown them to be correct, it took balls to do what they did.

Credit Where It's Due
The rule is clear and if he had done a better acting job, he might have gotten away with it. He should have had his arms flailing as he reached and fell toward the bag. Then he could have said his momentum carried him into Arroyo. Instead, he took a slap at his glove, got called out and Jeter had to stay at 1st, not too smart. Oh well, like you said it's a split second decision.

I understand the call, I'm asking if what A Rod did, which was clearly intentional, was a good idea on his part. By they way, which thread is that?
-
Credit Where It's Due
They were calling it a good play on the part of A Rod last night because if the call goes his way, it's huge. BUT, if he doesn't interfere, sure he's an easy out but Jeter gets to second on the play. What do you guys think?

Fixing the White Sox: Part Four
That's when I stopped reading, it's more of a fantasy, ideal situation than probable.
-
Credit Where It's Due
Yep, very gutsy. Especially after the comments he made about New Yorkers AND he blew game 1. He almost HAD to win last night, or go out as a big mouth clown.

Look at ME! Look at ME!
I think in some sick, attention hungry kind of way, YES some Cub and Red Sox fans do enjoy the pity party and would almost prefer to keep it going. It keeps the focus on them. Any White Sox fan will tell you that we love our team just as much as anyone, have a 'curse' of our own and have been in many heartbreaking situations of our own, but we take our losses like rational adults who keep baseball in perspective. If we're not praying or crying, it's not because we're not great fans and we could give less of a toss about where the cameras are. Jealousy? You mean of that long Cub's and Red Sox success? Uh, yeah that's it.

Look at ME! Look at ME!
No to mention, how many other times do you think those people pray? I'm sure some probably do, most don't.

Sleeping Habits
I was single and lived alone up until the age of 32, so I always had the bed to myself.....for sleeping that is. Anyway, when I started sharing a bed with my wife, of course I had my own side of the bed. I have discovered that I have this horrible fear of falling off the side of the bed since I never slept that close to the edge for all those years. I would jolt and jerk out of sleep when I'd get that cold-about-to-fall-off-the-edge-of-the-bed feeling on my back. I now sleep with a pillow between me and the edge of the bed, still doesn't really work, the pillow falls off about 50% of the time. Need a fan too. Suggestions?

Does Jason Marquis remind anyone of
I don't know if he is a clubhouse cancer or not, I'm not in the clubhouse, no one but his teammates know that for sure. I also think that if he's being labeled as such for 1 incident, then that is unfair. BUT, I will say that my problem with Garland is his stubborness and unwillingness to listen or change. Now what if you were his teammate and you realize that the team and coaching staff believe he can be an 18 game winner if he makes a few adjustments and then you read some of his quotes in which he has flat out said I'm not gonna change what I do. You might conclude that he has no interest in improving for the sake of the team. Is that not a potentially cancerous attitude to have around?

Astros Pitching Choice
Game 6 is not a must win for Houston. If it goes to game 7, then you use Clemens, Oswalt and Lidge. If the Stros win game 6 and assuming the Yanks-BoSox series goes 7 games, Houston would be sitting real pretty for the WS.

Look at ME! Look at ME!
See, it's not even that. The reason Cub and Red-Sox fans are so annoying is because they think THEY are the story. Not the team, or the game of baseball but them. Listen to Cub and Red Sox fan interviews, you'll never hear another fan base talk so much about themselves. It's all about look at ME, MY pain, I'M a better fan etc.
-
the insight of Tim McCarver
See, that's just it, 21 years in the bigs and he has no insight. He's 'Captain Obvious'. I've been listening to him more and more closely and he brings nothing to the table, no insight, nothing.

Great Night for Ex-Sox Pitchers
Well, I think once Loaiza is in the game for them, the well must be dry. They're thinking must have been, we'll leave him out there no matter what, it's not a do or die game for us. He threw well, was that the only hit he gave up?

Look at ME! Look at ME!
If I see another Red Sox or Cub fan praying at a game, I'm gonna go Elvis on my big screen. It's not even geniune, it's just like 'oh God please please put my face on TV or in the paper, so everyone can see my fake anguish'. Call me crazy, but I have a feeling God might have more important things on his plate than Red Sox baseball, just a hunch. I was really hoping the Red Sox would get to the WS this year just so I could see an end to that s***.

One of the papers did a thing on 'cancers in the clubhouse' for each Chicago team. Guess who won for the Sox?......you got it, Johnny GIRLand. He's a career #5 starter, who will win you 12-14 games a year, who plays to not get hurt, collects a check and doesn't want to hear anyone's mouth about it.

Do you have a problem with Matt Stones comments???
I see your point and we could run off on a tangent about stars endorsing politicians, it's an interesting and very complicated issue.
