  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 19, 2015 -> 10:28 PM) This NyQuil is trying to put me down but I'm fighting it Use cocaine to fight it !
  2. To paraphrase Steve Martin "What a wild and crazy game ! "
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 19, 2015 -> 05:46 AM) Q has it dialed in against the Indians in his career, I hope that continues Except for Brantley who kills him so just keep the guys ahead of him off base.
  4. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 19, 2015 -> 12:32 PM) I am still pissed about that rumor and hate Boston fans even more. I was obsessed with the Chris Sale draft pick to the point where my Dad made fun of me for it. As a sort of joke, he bought me a Chris Sale jersey for Christmas in 2010. We went to Boston to watch the Sox play at Fenway in 2012. We went to the game and the Pedro Hernandez made a spot start. If that isn't his name it was the guy the Sox got for Ozzie. Anyways, our Sox got absolutely pissed on to the tune of 12-1 beating. A group of 25-30 year old fans followed my dad and I back to our hotel just chanting White Sox suck and making fun of our jerseys. My dad had a retro light blue Bill Melton jersey on. They made fun of that for being a "gay" color and I was wearing a "reliever's" jersey. Even though Sale had been in the rotation all of that year... I've seen the Sox play in 10 opposing stadiums and there are no fans like Boston fans. They are ruthless. Of course the Sox are 1-4 when I have seen them at Fenway but the aggressiveness of their fans mixed with the accents and corresponding cackles made for a bad environment leaving that stadium. A Giants fan in L.A. and a Yankees fan in Boston or vice versa is in more danger than Sox on Sox chippiness. But yes I have also been harassed although in stadium not to the point of being followed and harassed. It was during a Sox/Dodgers game with my 2 children ,who were visiting from Arizona (their home with their mother) and my father (visiting from Chicago) a very rare occurrence that all 4 of us were in the same place together. So odd that just rooting for your team in a foreign stadium and wearing the colors can provoke people to harass a man with his children and their grandfather. Young men can be so irrational. Nothing major happened thankfully but what should 've been an enjoyable time ended up pissing me off .
  5. To quote Bruce Springsteen from the song Thunder Road. "Have a little faith , there's magic in the night ."
  6. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 4, 2015 -> 03:49 PM) The whole thread, talking about who to trade already . Can we at least let this team gel before we declare the season over ? If you watched the interview with Adam Eaton right after the game he said something along the lines of it takes time for a team with a lot of new faces to GEL . GELLIN' !
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2015 -> 07:37 PM) Surely caused by carrying this team last weekend Must be his back then
  8. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 18, 2015 -> 06:39 PM) Wouldn't mind a wild pitch DinG Ding DiNG !!
  9. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 17, 2015 -> 05:04 PM) He's making a lot of posters around here eat s***, that's for sure. You know I was tempted to say something along those lines but it's a long season and I take no pleasure in saying " I told you so" . But I do take great pleasure in how he's been playing
  10. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 17, 2015 -> 04:19 PM) I don't know the embed code anymore but... I've got that on my ipod but the version I heard growing up was by Johnny Nash ,AM radio back in the day (1972)
  11. Some times when you turn a corner you get hit by a bus.
  12. QUOTE (farmteam @ May 17, 2015 -> 08:48 AM) The Ducks aren't known for that active a fanbase, are they? I thought that region was dominated by the Kings. There's plenty of fans for both teams especially when you're winning.
  13. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 16, 2015 -> 11:49 AM) @CSNHayes: Adam LaRoche in May (45 PAs): .333/.511/.485 with a homer and seven RBIs. #WhiteSox Maybe it'll prompt others to stop calling him LaDunn and start calling him what LaRoche means in french and that's The Rock .
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2015 -> 07:52 PM) That ball bounced away incredible far from Vogt. He could have checked for a few seconds and still made it with ease. And it rolled right towards 1st base. Pretty hard to keep your eye on the catcher and the runner ahead of you at the same time.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2015 -> 07:45 PM) How did Avi not get to 2nd on that? You know you have to make sure the runner on 2nd is going before you can go .
  16. Time to put Chavez out of his misery.
  17. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 16, 2015 -> 06:59 PM) Really JA.................AR trained well with the tip your cap line already in game 2. You can't watch baseball day after day year after year without hearing cliches time and time again . Why b**** about it ?
  18. I don't want to hear any whining about Avi until his BA drops 50 points !
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2015 -> 06:34 PM) He was on pace to shatter records for the worst defensive season by a 2nd baseman ever. I know you are his biggest fan, but he was really bad. Worst baserunning team in history , worst defensive second baseman in history , a mute 3rd base coach and a non hustling Alexei. Why torture yourself ? Go watch the Cubs.
  20. QUOTE (Chris Sale @ May 16, 2015 -> 06:13 PM) Awful call to strike out Eaton. Abreu's ability to muscle inside pitches never ceases to imperss me, but I wish Cabrera and LaRoche tried a bit harder to work counts in their favor. Despite his batting average LaRoche has a pretty good on base percentage . He draws a fairly decent amount of walks and last night the count was 2-0 when he got that bases loaded double.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 11, 2015 -> 06:00 AM) Stop and think about this though, if Rodon is taking up a roster spot but is going 7-8 days between starts, that leaves us with a 4 man bench and a 6 man bullpen. Both of those slots can use an extra person but usually people go with the bullpen. You can make it work through short stretches but a 6 man rotation really means that you starters have to go 6-ish innings every game because you don't have enough arms in the bullpen to manage the normal wear and tear of guys needing days off and extra inning games. Looks to me like we do have a 4 man bench now and 7 guys in the pen . One of those pen guys will get spot starts either Noesi or Carroll. Basically the semi 6 man rotation I spoke of unless something changes.
  22. HA WTF DirecTV jumped the gun on turning off the Sox game on CSN Chicago . Had to go to the Oakland broadcast just in time to see the replay of the final out . Whew dodged a bullet .
