  1. Red Sox lineup full of LH hitters with 3 switch hitters, though Victrion is batting exclusively right handed for the time being.
  2. 19 pitches for Rienzo to get through the 1st inning.
  3. Keppinger flys out to CF. AviGar picked off does not beat the throw to 2nd for the 2nd out. Viciedo 4/7 lifetime against Dubront but Keppinger still ahead of him in the middle of the order. Dayan grounds to short . 3 outs. Stone speculating Viciedo may have tweaked his back on swing and miss at the 2-0 pitch.
  4. AviGar leads off the 2nd by dumping a single into right.
  5. Nasty hook by Rienzo to K Victorino on 3 pitches.
  6. Little Leury picked off but beats the throw to 2nd easy. The kid is very fast .
  7. Little Leury with a 1 hop smash to deep short that Drew snags with the backhand on 1 knee ,spins and fires and Little Leury beats it out.
  8. Sox have lost the 1st 2 of the 3 game series and looking to avoid the sweep. I think this is a key start for Rienzo pitching against a patient team on the road looking to stop a mini slide by the Sox. If Rienzo can throw strikes and keep the White Sox in the game, I , for one , will believe he can be a key cog in the rotation next year. Edit: Can someone spell Rienzo correctly in the title please ?
  9. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Aug 31, 2013 -> 05:30 PM) Man how good as Avi been? Best trade Sox have made in awhile. He'd be sitting on a 17 or 18 game hitting streak if it wasn't for that 0-1 in the game he hit his head on the fence and was taken out.
  10. AviGar ties it up with a single up the middle with 2 outs.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 31, 2013 -> 10:26 AM) We needed Lindstrom in July? I thought the team was more than out of the race by then. In the fangraphs world he's already put up $4 million in value this year. In the B-R world he's put up more. That was my 1st thought but my 2nd thought was he meant when we could ve traded him .
  12. QUOTE (ron883 @ Aug 31, 2013 -> 06:43 AM) The power of 2005 is much greater than the negative impact of a bum. AJ will channel his inner Oz and win multiple championships Did you say Oz ? I love Oz he was a great player and great manager. He has so much personality. He's fun not like boring old Ventura. Ozzie should manage the Sox again and hire Frank Thomas as hitting coach. If Ozzie could have stifled himself he'd have worked forever. His resume will forever include the only Chicago WS title in modern history. Odds are neither Chicago team will win another one in the next 20-50 years so he's going to be a legend a long, long time.
  13. Robin can take this loss for starting Keppinger over Gillaspie against rightie Dempster.
  14. Garcia now 27 for 75 with the Sox a cool .360
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2013 -> 04:57 PM) So Avi's supposed to be good defensively, right? Besides his arm, he's looked awful out there. That looked like DeAza'a ball all the way. He had it lined up and he's supposed to take anything he can.
  16. The dreaded leadoff walks did not prove to be so dreaded.
  17. Garcia's 1st White Sox HR comes on the 23rd anniversary of the Big Hurt's 1st HR as a White Sox.
  18. QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 28, 2013 -> 09:05 PM) I just read he was actually batting an even more impressive .410 in the 19 games. EDIT- Ha, way to go yahoo...He's 25 for 71 not 61. So its back to .352 but in those 19 games he has gone hitless just 3 times and 2 of those 3 he was only 0-1. He might be sitting on a 15 game hitting streak if it wasn't for going 0-1 in the game he was removed from after hitting his head on the fence.
  19. Sale struck out 12 for the fourth time this season, setting a single-season franchise record.
  20. Leury Garcia lead off today went 0-2 but had 2 walks scored both times. One was on a steal and got to third on the throw then sprinted home on a shallow fly ball with a great slide and slap of the plate. He also hit a sac fly for an RBI.
  21. Sox take the rubber match of the series with Houston . Chris Sale threw 8 innings giving up 4 hits ,1 run ,K'ing 12 ,and walking 2. Avisail Garcia went 3 for 4 including his 1st HR as a White Sox, a 3 run shot to CF off of former Sox farmhand Lucas Harrell. Sox win their 5th series in a row.
