  1. The thing about Eloy is he could get so hot that he could pass Robert for the team HR lead in 10 days.
  2. Probably trying to break him out of his funk although swinging at pitches off the plate inside a lot less would help more. More likely to help him break back onto the IL.
  3. You're not building for the future right now .Have to get the present fixed if possible. I've wanted to get younger guys the last couple of off seasons.Instead we got Kimbrel, Pollock,Harrison, Andrus, Diekman, Kelly, 1st basemen in the OF, an over the hill manage , more injuries than you find in a nursing home, an owner who won't fire anyone and a bunch of FO people deserving of being fired.
  4. A very sound post . You seemed to have learned a lot about baseball or actually apply life lessons and common sense to this subject. Winning and losing colors our perspective on managerial performance. No one here is out there making a list of his alleged mistakes siting score, situation,BP usage etc. Every Day correct decisions are easily discarded but bad play by at the wrong time by the wrong player is magnified tenfold. It's like half the responses to Sheets starting in LF questioned that decision but Sheets drives in. 3 runs and has 2 hits. If he goes 0-4 and makes an error leading to runs scored he's an idiot. Sox win he's a genius. You call out these fans for not thinking beyond the end of their noses and you're a smug know it all. You make some predictions to back up your supposed smugness which no one else would ever do. Your prediction comes through 100 % and you are an even bigger dick if you point this out because you are tooting your own horn but God forbid you make a post singling out all the people who were wrong if they were the ones making that managerial decision. No one likes being wrong. No one likes if you point out that there are legit reasons these decisions are made because teams have all kinds of info fans don't. That's not to say some managerial decisions aren't mind boggling but most of the minds can't see beyond their own frustration and need to place blame on the most convenient target. Yes Grifol didn't come from a great organization. Yes that same organization that people are putting down as a loser organization suddenly must have made a winning choice by not hiring Grifol.
  5. Yea it's farcical hearing he can't manage the pen when he doesn't have a pen, Who even has done well out of the pen? Outside of Lambert there's no one. Can't DFA them all. There's worse in AAA.
  6. Just to expand on this 9 HR's for the starting 9 in 450 AB. 8 from the backups in 118 AB.
  7. 9 HR from our starting position players and 8 for the backups.
  8. ANd 0 HR from 5 of the starting position players,Anderson, Vaughn, Eloy, Benintendi and Andrus.
  9. There's time especially with Santos throwing in the pen.
  10. Not sure it's Katz. Grifol has pushed guys beyond limits when the BP is taxed.
  11. Just like Moncada was when he initially came back from the toe before he went on the IL with the back problems.
  12. There was just as much reason to question Burger playing 3rd base and I didn't see a lot of that going on or at least not even close to the same amount as Sheets. Burger and Sheets have all the RBI's this game and Burger made the error that led to only 1 of the 3 Baltimore runs being earned so we're about at where we were when the game started. Still too early to pull either one so hopefully they both contribute more offensively as well as the other sleeping members of the offense or else the rest of this game won't be pretty.
  13. Not sure what you mean by Little Richard part of it. I'm just a White Sox fan who doesn't over react and actually knows that it's easy to over react to Sheets OF defense and forget or never even think there are other reasons to play someone other than that he fell down in the OF which doesn't only happen to big slow guys playing out of position in the OF. Balls move twist, knuckle , get affected by wind and spin. Plenty of good OF's get turned around and misjudge FB's.
  14. Yep that's what I said. It was in the post I quoted, my quote, along with my prediction that he will hit his 1st HR and get on base at least another time after that. If the O's don't make a game of it against our pen I suspect he'll be taken out of LF before much longer.
  15. This is why actual baseball knowledge helps a manager instead of just thinking about how he fell down in 1 game or his defense in general. Gotta weigh the good and the bad. The more you know... You're handling people not robots. People skills count too.
  16. LOL It didn't originate here. and it sure looks like he did not enjoy something and it also was unclear if that was pain or just a typical reaction to ice dousing. Throw in the Beni not playing. Seems like just normal speculation to me. It's not like we haven't had our players hurt and other players from multiple organization hurt during celebrations.
  17. Look at the guys faces in front of Beni after he yelled f***. They seemed concerned .Highly doubtful Beni got pissed because of a little cold water after a win. Could be he's just reacting to the coldness but I think he got hit with the jug either in the head , neck, or back or several places. . That thing could weigh 40 lbs and Vaughn was starting to let it fall to empty it when it hit him. Maybe he is just a little gimpy already and this was just the "Icing" or "backbreaker" that led to time off.
  18. The other thread about Haseley being called up has a video that looks like Beni got smacked in the head and/or back by the big water filled Gatorade cooler that Vaughn was yielding to dump on Colas and looking quite angry / hurt.
  19. Andrew did look either hurt or pissed off and looks like he's saying FUUUCK ! Might've hit Beni in the head.
  20. Beni doesn't seem like the kind of guy that disregards his body in a celebration. Maybe Eloy collided with him in the celebration .
  21. Might be out of necessity . However he did hit .500 last year against the Orioles both at home and on the road going 13/26. Orioles might be the only team he did this against since he was so bad against most any team on the road. In the ultra small 4 game sample at home this year he is 2/6 with 3 walks .333 BA .556 OBP. He also had a .908 OPS at home last year. The starting pitcher is RH so there's that too. Hoping for his 1st HR of the year and maybe a walk or another hit also and that his defense isn't too costly.
  22. Sox 3 for 12 with RISP Orioles 1 for 14 and hit and ran into 4 DP.
