  1. It was definitely about defensive positioning. On Clemens 1st hit they had Leury deep in the hole at 2nd but Mendick was not to his left of 2nd base. He was more on the SS side of 2nd base. The hit went right past Lynn's left side which in most cases is gobbled up by the 2nd baseman or in a shift the SS playing there. After the hit went through ,Lynn made a motion with his hand toward that hole like "why the hell wasn't someone there ?"
  2. Isn't he at least 4 yrs older than most of the guys there ?
  3. Top 4 in the lineup had 9 hits. Pollock 2, Vaughn 2 + a BB, Robert 2 and Abreu 3 + a BB. Burger's X-Rays from the HBP/swing were negative . Leury 3 hits. Reese McGuire with a real nice sac bunt on a tough pitch that turned into 2 runs + a double. Mendick with an RBI hit.
  4. Jose 2, 2 run bombs. Lots of hitting. Sox win 9-5 !
  5. I was just thinking if the Sox might've been the only team in MLB who didn't have guy who had hit 2 HR's in a game or back to back HR's this season. ANyone know if prior to ABreu's 2nd HR if the Sox had either ?
  6. Mendick with the RBI hit and the sense not to get thrown out at 2nd base !
  7. Lance should probably be done but he'll probably be out there in the 5th.
  8. Plus after he saw the hit went through he made a little gesture with his hand in that direction.
  9. I have no doubt at all it was about positioning on the Clemens hit. I see it a lot with Sox hitters if you hit it just to the left of the pitcher there's usually the 2nd baseman right there to gobble it up. They had a shift on for Clemens but Mendick wasn't on the left side of 2nd base.
  10. Say hi to Eloy Tim. You'll be back with the Sox before he is.
  11. 6 of one 1/2 dozen of the other , no matter what bum TLR brings in he's still making the wrong choice. There aren't any right choices among these pitchers unless it works. Graveman doesn't like to be used as often but the shuttle bums have no choice unless they want to tell the manager how much their arms hurt being used so much.
  12. Sure the RH Lambert with the 9 ERA in the minors and 21 hits in 12.2 IP to face the LHH MLB Rangers that inning. Just because you called it doesn't mean anyone else at that moment thought Lambert was the go to option. And if Lambert was brought in then and got blown up you have nothing to crow about. Just because he didn't give up a run in 2.2 IP in that game doesn't mean he won't get lit up if he can manage to stick around in a RP roll for the Sox. He'll be back on the Charlotte/Chicago/Charlotte shuttle soon enough like the rest of them. Ruiz was good for a month and a half and plenty here think he should be down in Charlotte too and he's been here all year unlike the rest of the bums . Seriously who shouldn't be in Charlotte among the uninjured RP ? Graveman, Lopez and maybe Foster, that's it.
  13. Not that all this wondering information will prevent anyone from screaming about TLR's usage of the BP today. I saw all this going on 3 days ago yet the resident Soxtalk geniuses didn't like hearing it. No idea why a fresh arm or 2, no matter how bad they are, wasn't brought up. Typical Sox mess. Pitching staff in shambles.
  14. Also MLB free game of the day for those of you with the MLB app on your smart TV and masochists.
  15. You and everyone else but not really considering it seems like they want to cripple the whole pitching staff.
  16. For whatever reason Yoan is losing his tools . You talked about speed. Apparently he has lost that tool. In 2017 when he was 22 his sprint speed was 28.9 ft/second which was better than 91.5 % of baseball. IN 2022 his sprint speed is now 27.0 ft/sec down from last years 27.7 which it was a since 2019. Now he's better than only 46.8 % of baseball. It's still a relatively small sample for this year but he can't hit or even get on base very well either. Send him to some kind of medical specialist like the best and give Yoan full set of exams for a month. Run him through the gamut to test his physical and mental state . It's worth that time to see if there is any hope for him to recover and rediscover his potential. They have too much money invested in him to let the "experts" on the Sox turn him around. Those Sox "experts" are better at making players worse , not better.
  17. Then just "Sell the team". Three syllable chants are always easy to do. Everyone knows who owns the team so you don't need to say Jerry. Sell the team ! Sell the team !! Sell the team !!!
  18. Yup Sox have to win. Nobody's left to pitch. They don't win this inning they don't stand a chance. They didnt stand a chance with what Ruiz gave up but somehow they are in a position to tie it.
