  1. Whaaaaaaaaat ? A rally with doubles from Leury and Josh. Holy moly !
  2. Against RHP he's shown improvement. He's keep getting better as a hitter. Nothing comes all at once usually
  3. The ultra slow slider middle got him. Have to look off speed with him and fastballs up.
  4. I think we see Cortes trying to get Vaughn to chase this AB . Anything middle I think Andrew does some damage.
  5. Damn it I hate when random thoughts come true. I was thinking earlier that I hope Lemahieu didn't come up with the bases loaded and hit a grannie and like Trevor Story his ex Rockie team mate did with Boston yesterday.
  6. Sunk cost. Whether he gets replaced or not by either Sanchez or Sosa it's only going to cost the prorated minimum MLB contract beyond the Harrison deal. I'd keep my eyes on injuries to any 2nd baseman in MLB and look to trade Harrison for a lottery ticket, cash or PTBNL.
  7. PFTHC Par for the course with TLR and Moncada needing a diaper change.
  8. I dig the mixed metaphor, " on a whim" mixed with "a moments notice" = on a whims notice !
  9. Sosa might be the one guy in the minors who can truly help this team. Right now he is destroying AA but it's his 2nd year there. He's still just 22 and can play all infield positions. Even if you don't want to try him in the OF who better than Ozzie, a fellow Venezuelan, to guide him ? It's an important position to get a top prospect ready and if successful would be a huge feather in Ozzie's cap.
  10. That's why I never wanted him to manage the Sox again because of what he did earlier when he quit. But he knows it's highly improbable that he will ever manage and get a big league paycheck without doing something to prove himself worthy of it. If he truly wants another shot at MLB he should do whatever it takes to get there. A stint as a AAA manager would give him the only chance he might ever get.
  11. I said a long time ago that I wouldn't want Ozzie managing the White Sox again but Sosa is a top prospect now even though it's a small sample size but an impressive one especially at Birmingham. I know it's a long shot that he can go through Charlotte and still maintain how he's doing at Birmingham and then in Chicago but what if he could ? It is all rushed that's for sure but if people aren't going to get fired then some drastic player moves are necessary. Harrison isn't any kind of answer. You can always try Yolbert Sanchez 1st and give Sosa and Ozzie together a chance , over the next 2 or 3 months ,to get Sosa ready if Sanchez isn't an immediate answer. Ozzie wants to manage again and his path back to that could be managing and Charlotte and taking care of a fellow country and imparting his MLB wisdom and fielding expertise . Also there should be more Latin managers and coaches when so many of the players are Spanish speaking.
  12. You think he's raking it in with the gig he has now? The dude wants to manage again and it's one step away from MLB. He would jump at the chance.
  13. Very odd thought I just had. Why not ask Ozzie Guillen to manage the Knights and promote Sosa to Charlotte. Both are Venezuelan and it could help Sosa adjust to Charlotte quicker since he's had some trouble with adjusting to a new level. Also if Sheets and Vaughn can play OF why not Sosa ? Would love to see Sosa and Sanchez together on the Knights to put some pressure on Harrison and have 2 viable players to replace him.
  14. It would be a very bold move especially since Yolbert has earned a shot too. It's still so early but if the Sox hitting woes continue I'd promote Sosa to AAA to play along side Yolbert and see how that works out for a month or 2. One can play SS and the other 2nd base. Heck can Sosa play OF ? If Sheets and Vaughn can why not Sosa ? Might cause quite the stir. Another Sosa in the Sox OF. That gives Harrison time to establish a true level of suck and gives Sosa time to see if his problems adjusting to a new level continue and see if Yolbert continues his fine level of play. There's a lot of 27-30 yr old filler/organizational guys at AAA who can be replaced. Remillard, Rivera, Jones, Payton, Mercedes, Mendick . Plenty to choose from. Never thought I'd be saying this but since Sosa is Venezuelan and so is Ozzie Guillen ask Oz if he would manage the Knights. He's also an ex infielder so that would be helpful too.
  15. Some seasons are better than others and disappointment is par of the course with Reinsdorf in charge. We got one World Series win in our lifetimes and plenty of Sox fans lived and died without one. That feeling you're talking about should be a minor one in the grand scheme of things. Perspective.
  16. There is always hope. The 1st 38 games do not a season make. Despite the off season suckfest as a fan you have to take pleasure in individual performances and realize that the end result is usually not winning the World Series no matter how good you are. That's really all you can do as a Sox fan. We can discuss it all endlessly of course and I know in my head who I blame but we watch baseball and the Sox because we love them both. Winning is a lot more fun than losing but am I enraged or depressed over them ? Hell no just another season to enjoy along with what is almost always the same end result.
  17. Surprised how no ones mentioned how Anderson almost willed the Sox to that win with the 2 stolen bases 2 hits,2 RBI, 2 walks. It was like he was saying if I can take walks even though I'm hitting .340 so can you and he desperately wanted to fire up the team with the 2 stolen bases. That McGuire bunt hit with 2 strikes was also a big key. BP with 4 scoreless innings.
  18. Nice to see Robert move off the plate a few inches after his 1st AB and then started hitting again. Look for it if you can watch a replay of the game. I think Beckham pointed it out but I could see it if you look at where his back foot was that 1st AB then after.
