Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
CaliSoxFanViaSWside replied to CentralChamps21's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Right ? He made a series of decisions that just trashed his value and is trying to recover his value or still thinks he's more valuable than he is. He didn't get vaxxed, then got Covid. He rejected the $100M offer from the Mets either before or close to the time he got Covid. Then had a bad 2021 and refused the QO. Add that all up and the possibility he still isn't vaxxed, has a draft pick attached to him and you get why he is still available. -
Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud

If he sucked with the Sox the crow eating would be reversed. If they still don't get him I don't think anyone will be shoving sweet crow down anyone's throat. (OK maybe it will happen to a degree). People differed on his worth in the FA market from the beginning or if he was even as perfect a fit as others thought .Debating it is fun. Some will be right and others wrong. Nothing to feel superior about either way. Optimism vs. pessimism. Giving the owner and front office the benefit of the doubt as opposed to not doing that is all it boils down to. -
Notorious Cub fan Bill Murray played Frank Cross a selfish, obnoxious and cynical TV executive in the 1988 movie "Scrooged" , a modern adaptation of the Dicken's classic "A Christmas Carol."
-
You of all people should know that Comiskey is to Reinsdorf as Jacob Marley was to Scrooge ! If you want I can explain why Bill Murray plays Reinsdorf too
-
Right the Comiskey ghost is akin to the Jacob Marley ghost who is the 1st ghost to visit Ebeneezer and just as misery and greedy.
-
Jerry Reinsdorf has a Press Conference and says he was visited by the ghost of Charles Comiskey and the Ghosts of St. Patrick's Days Past, Present, and Future . Signs Conforto, trades for Manea and Montas. Sox win the World Series. Bill Murray plays Reinsdorf in the movie version. And Tiny Tim Anderson, the World Series MVP, says God bless us, everyone !

Man, you're so right. What was I thinking?"

Outside of his arm, I have no idea how he fares defensively. -

He could be right in his prime now especially if he's 100% healthy. If he had more bat to ball skills Adolfo would be something special. He has Eloy type power. -

I can't find it on my computer here in California. Must need the ESPN app or something. -
People like us do it to all players. We all have different ways of using data. For example the most popular thing I see regarding Sheets is that his AB's were cherry picked. Yet I have never once seen a person who said that show me ,with data, that cherry picking AB's existed. Now if they wanted to say he's LH and most pitchers are RH therefore he has the same advantage as Vaughn does against LHP only on a more frequent basis I can accept that.

Or it could mean it's his 1st appearance of the spring ? Looking for a silver lining.
-
Adolis Garcia ends the inning by sliding by the 2nd base bag on an attempted steal. Needed a bigger base.
-
Lynn out Garvin ALston, Jr. 2019 37th rd pick toiled at Kanny last year. 6.60 ERA 1.74 WHIP.
-
Garver another bomb against Lynn.
-
Romy bomb to CF
-
1,2,3 2nd for Lynn.
-
walk, wild pitch. rangers radio broadcast on texasrangers.com . Just slide the slider all the way to the right to get the live game .
-
And a double to Brad Miller. Batting practice against Lynn now.

This is all opinion based on nothing but their "profiles" ? At least Gavin got in some super productive PA's last year where he didn't strike out a ton (22.4%) and supposedly doesn't walk much (8.9%) Also .556 Slg % against RH's . So a RH guy like Burger on a mostly RHH team who is the same age as Sheets, with an extensive injury background fits in better because we have him longer so we can figure out if the Sox can send Moncada back to 2nd base . Positional versatility is not being able to play just 3rd base. 1st base and DH don't count because any big guy should be able to play 1st and DH. A dime a dozen really ? I'll keep that in mind since a LH power bat with a decent K rate and walk rate is so easy to find. Maybe you can scan some MLB rosters and find a few for me who did what Gavin did in his MLB rookie season. I know he's got skeptics but he did every thing he could short of getting a bunch of AB's to prove he should get plenty of AB's on a team starved for LH balance and power. Vaughn is the RH bat who needs the playing time not Burger to move Moncada to 2nd base. What's your next suggestion, Kimbrel replacing Hendriks as closer and Liam being the setup guy ?
