White Sox among 'most agressive' teams in pitching market
Exactly the opposite from me .Hold onto him for what ? Get injured 4 more times in the next 2 years ? Butcher balls in the OF ? Collide with Robert ? Trip over a base ? Injure himself saying Hi Mom ? If you can't dump Eloy who can you dump ? We can find reasons not to dump anyone. Just because he may hit 35 HR one year when he manages not to break himself ?

White Sox among 'most agressive' teams in pitching market
And not for the reason most think you said that. No matter what happens 1/2 the board won't like it.. The FO has terrorized us with their ineptness and the descontruction of the team. No one is sure which direction to turn.

White Sox among 'most agressive' teams in pitching market
Nah every team is sweating out the other ones. If you have free agents pending you move them for something or you keep them and gain nothing. Highest last minute bid gets whoever it is. Teams asking for the moon with multi year guys like Happ,Castillo, Montas got teams who want them. They wait, they're daring the teams to hold onto the player and run the risk injury and gain or next to nothing next year. Teams holding those guys say Ok I guess you don't want to win bad enough. Basically 100% of the board is going to be upset one way or another. Do nothing upset , do something upset. We whine about the team screwing up this window but no one wants to give them a chance to fix it. The fan base is terrified, Afraid the team is too stupid to make a smart trade. What I hear mostly is do nothing ever, 3rd place in this crap division or lower is fine for the next 10 years as long as we keep our prospects, like this is the fucking rebuild again.

White Sox among 'most agressive' teams in pitching market
Thank you Cueto might regress, Giolito has regressed.Lynn has regressed, Kopech is tiring. As of right now if we had to play the Astro's Perez is my#2 after Cease. He is going to be a free agent and the only way the Rangers keep him is if they think they can compete , not likely. Plus he's not like some expensive piece like Kimbrel. Ranges paid him $4M so less than half of that to get him plus. whoever in prospects . The great prospects in a bottom 5 system who are somehow going to win us future pennants and be better than the talent we have now. Hello Mediocrity My Old Friend !

White Sox among 'most agressive' teams in pitching market
I get the feeling you think minor leaguers are worth more than an All STar pitcher who gets guys on the freakin' astro's out with like 1 run in 14 innings. What the heck do you want to make you happy ? Is last place in 2025 a goal because that's where the Sox are headed . Tell me what he's worth and lets see if hes traded and how much TX. gets ?

White Sox among 'most agressive' teams in pitching market
There's 2 guys on the farm worth not moving Colas and Montgomery the rest are trade bait. Is there really going to wailing and gnashing of teeth over most of these prospect whose chance of becoming "dudes " in MLB are practically zilch when the whole system is near the bottom now all of a sudden these guys got worth ? ARe we saving them for the cellar dwelling teams after 2025 ?

White Sox among 'most agressive' teams in pitching market
how does a guy who has a 2.59 ERA and 3.12 FIP and 2.6 FWAR suck ???? Does Cueto suck because that's better than Cueto. Way better. Cueto for as good as he's been only has a .9 fWar

Why does no one mention Martin Perez like i do Lol . If we meet up with the Astro's Perez is the guy you need.

White Sox among 'most agressive' teams in pitching market
I don't give a damn about Vera they just drafted a shit ton of pitchers. Keep Colas and Monty sure and pitching is fine. I prefer Martin Perez since he's got the Astro's number and is a rental but maybe they want multiple years. But io also still want Happ and Wendle the lineup needs LHH badly. Getting more pitching isn't going to help this team score more runs or hit more HR's

Trade Rumors Catch-all
So JR and Hahn and company admit they fucked everything up Fire TLR and retool. Ha good luck with that. I'll take my chances they can make an impact at the trade deadline and have a vastly improved LHH lineup with Wendle, Happ and Colas and the new and improved Moncada and Grandal.

Trade Rumors Catch-all
I know you somehow think the Sox can keep making the playoffs beyond 2023 but they are barely in contention for the playoff now in a weak division and have been playing .500 for a year.. So excuse me if I think the best opportunity is to win now or in 2023. If you're happy with .500 for the next 5+ years no skin off my nose .

I would imagine that his little sign of frustration is mostly forgotten now. Colas hasn't let it slow him down that's for sure.

7/27 Games
I've been saying that about the NPB and that was 3 years ago when he was 20. If Colas truly did throw a bit of a hissy fit in a tweet close to a month ago it's understandable. He probably was thinking he's close to MLB ready , they barely use him any Spring training games, then they stick him in A ball. I'm not saying that was the wrong call, after all ,he had a lot of inactivity to shake off. Then the wrist thing and the rust kept his stats good+ but not great But if what we are seeing now is the real deal after getting some hitting advice on how to turn on the inner half pitches while still being able to go the opposite way too, hee could be a huge asset going forward and quicker than most thought originally based on him starting in W-S.

Farm System Optimism
Robert played in the DSL.

Well I wasn't against trading him in a Sosa or Reynold's deal but that seems unlikely. Hahn won't give him up for Happ (fingers crossed). A few days ago I was on the hype train for him being on the Sox early next year after 6 games in AA with the 1.417 OPS . Then he went 0/4 and the next game 4/5 with 2 more HR's to somehow raise that 1.417 OPS to 1.470. Now I'm the engineer on the hype train thinking he should be called up Set.12 if they can find a way to grab Happ and Wendle and Robert's issue isn't long term and if Colas can continue to rake in AA and get some AB's in AAA.

Trade Rumors Catch-all
Oh I know he's hardly played any RF and none this year but having also played some CF think he'd be fine in RF for a month. My plan was to move him back to LF anyway after Colas is brought up Sept 12.

That would be cool if Jazz can come back this year too.

He also has a gun for an arm. He's really a prototypical high quality offensive and defensive player with 5 tools . Maybe not the speed to make him above average in CF but it does seem like his OF instincts are good. He was in CF in the Future game and made a nice diving catch coming in and going to his left. Also went 1 for 2 with both AB's off LH pitchers and considered Future Stars because they were selected to play in that game. I haven't looked that up and would have to check the box score or find some video to confirm who the pitchers were.

I agree Moncada has rebounded but I need a longer sample size but regardless he still has to be in the lineup everyday. I'd like to see Moncada and Grandal rebound to the point they both can match or exceed the HR total of Jake Burger (8). While some may consider that being rushed. I don't really think of it that way. Colas wasn't your typical player in A ball. He was 23 yrs old and got a cup of coffee in Japan's MLB. Some consider that around AA+ or AAA and that was when he was 20. Once he shook off the rust and got over a wrist injury he took off.

Trade Rumors Catch-all
My plan is totally a long shot but here it is. Happ and Joey Wendle, Happ can play RF and Wendle strong side of a platoon with Harrison. If Colas continues to mash after a AAA promotion bring him up for the stretch run starting Sept 12 and put him in RF and Happ back in LF. Some how snag Martin Perez for the starting rotation and Matt Moore LHRP. Now instead of Leury, SHeets, McGuire and bad Moncada/Grandal as our LHH we get Happ, Wendle, Colas, and good Moncada/Grandal. Much better hitting against RHP , better defense, lineup balance and power . I have no idea how you get Happ and Perez. Definitely would lose some guys from the system but surely not Colas or Motgomery. I don't know how to resolve the Eloy/Vaughn/ Abreu Conundrum. If the Cubs would take Vaughn then I want more than Happ from them and Eloy becomes the DH. If Robert has something seriously wrong with him I don't do any of this.

When I use the term Sox Gonna Sox it usually means something stupid and negative and I don't think bringing up Colas fits in the Sox Gonna Sox stupid and negative category. As I outlined above if they somehow manage to get Happ and Wendle and Moncada and Grandal rebound, adding Colas transforms the Sox into a much better team against RHP. It's a longshot but if those things happen, my hopes get raised considerably.

Yes he would , everything in MLB is built around the east coast teams and TV Networks are all based in NY or Connecticut. ESPN and MLB Network salivate over all things Yankees and Red Sox. Rightfully so with the Yankees with their history of winning and Judge's 38 HR's so far which is 5 more than the top 3 Sox HR hitters . Our 4th and 5th HR hitters are guys who will hardly play down the stretch run if the Sox make some trades (Burger 8, Sheet's 7)
