  1. Down on the Farm the Sox affiliates went 0-4.
  2. Ill take that DP on the fly out to leave Guerrero in the on deck circle rather then have him up with 2 on.
  3. Monty ! Monty ! Monty ! White Sox version of the M & M Boys. For you youngsters that's what they used to call Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris.
  4. Mune ! Mune ! Mune ! 111 EV Lefty on lefty crime !
  5. Wind blowing out? That flyout was a bit adventurous between Acuna and Hays.
  6. Cubs lose .DeLauter destroyed them.
  7. The right play is if it dont think you have to come off the bag you don't especially on a low throw. Youre liable to have the runner fly right by you or break your hand, wrist or arm as it reaches among the legs flying by. I just dont see any of it being Munes fault (or even partially his fault for thinking he could have salvaged that throw). Make a good throw and the inning's over.
  8. Wonder if we see him this weekend, TOR had some TBA's coming into the series. Boston put out some pretty damning stuff about his arm. Theres also the reports out there that Gio was part of a coup that failed in the MLBPA. Don't have any idea if he'd be welcome by the players or management. Hard to know who's feathers were ruffled, if any were. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/12/mlbpa-subcommittee-vote-new-members-paul-skenes-tarik-skubal.html
  9. Um you do realize that the throw was wide and pulled him off the base. He couldve just come off the base to field it and the run scores anyway. he did what any 1st baseman does in that situation, he tried to stretch enough to keep his foot on the bag but he couldnt .Vargas will probably be saying it's his fault after the game.
  10. It's been a long time since a guy named Peters did good things for the Sox and Gary Peters was a pretty good hitting picher.
  11. That was a good win. The unheralded guys came thru with small ball.
  12. Except he didn't really do all that well in the WBC.
  13. Are you talking about Pereira sticking his spikes in the wall ? Most guys in his position, fighting for keeping their dreams alive , do not equate effort with the score or the schedule. How hard you try is actually the key in many things.
  14. My problem with bullying is that even though it's on a very small scale on a message board its indicative of group think on a much larger scale in society. The more you ignore it the bigger problem it becomes. People get caught up in the frenzy of being on the popular side knowing the security of their power position. I'm a fly buzzing around their head. Those on the popular side equate it to being right and those who speak up are major annoyances and outcasts . Im like the White Sox fighting that uphill battle. JR is the power that controls the purse strings but, as I said, I see nobility in their efforts towards moving forward.I don't see a need to trample on the hopes of fans who think the Sox could resign Murakami or any hopeful thought . Basically both sides are on the same side aligned against the owner , a man preparing his team for a sale and being ultraconservative with the pursestrings, moreso than any other time in his ownership. Our differences are how we deal with it. Not only that , but its doing a lot of damage to the franchise. It's dark times among fans and here I am reminding them that better times are not that far away. No one wants to hear it. It's always about the " here and now" . I understand what I'm up against, human nature, sports fandom in general, power structures . Ultimately that kind of thinking leads to mass atrocities committed against those who arent them. My feelings aren't tied to how to JR runs the Sox. I just try to appreciate the little things and peoples efforts to be forward thinking in spite of the huge obstacle of the Big Boss. If that sounds like I'm cheering in support of participation trophies and the effort being more important than the outcome it's because that's just how the situation is right now. I do root for the underdogs. It'll change if the sale to the Ishbia's goes through. I'm powerless to change it so I take pleasure in the positives I see in the eye of the hurricane. But its still a hurricane, powerful and destructive, yet temporary. I applaud those here who start game threads and do under appreciated stuff like el rockin, who unfortunately seems gone forever. Bama Doc who shows great dedication in keeping us informed in the minor league game threads. And many others who tirelessly show us game highlights from tweets or give us historical Sox info. You are the backbone of Soxtalk. Thank you Jason who has kept this place going from the beginning .
  15. You're a blitzkreig poster who loves throwing gasoline on a fire because it fans the flames of discontent. Everyone knows your act. Its popular among discontented fans wallowing in their own misery and you have the nerve to tell fair people who see some hope that theyre the ones crying about you. Sorry I wouldnt waste tears on you. True grief is for real tragedies not a baseball team struggling to make some inroads while fighting against an owner playing it safe in the final years of his life. We know what's going on and I see a lot of nobility in it by those involved fighting an uphill battle . It's such a shame you choose to kick a team while its down. You feel empowered by the fact the there's plenty here just like you and so few willing to fight back. It's typical bully psychology . The sad part is youre actually supposed to like the White Sox but you actually dont. You like them when they win . You only like them when they make you feel good about yourself aligning yourself with a winner. Typical fair weather fan always on the popular side of any argument.
  16. Acuna burning up the basepaths !!
  17. Not a terrible 5 innings for Martin.
  18. Marsee & Edwards seem like decent hitters. You can see why the hopes are high for the Marlins.
  19. The point is why do we have to keep it in mind? You were reminding us dont get too happy that the Sox are beating a bad pitcher. He was responding to what you actually said. Nothing good can happen without trying to spin it into something not to cheer about.
  20. Nice to see something positive. The Peter's & Pereira show is getting some runway. Quero is a team.player , gave up 2 AB's to advance runners.
  21. Yeah maybe took kids are at home with babysitter and he took the wife to the game. No shame in bringing a ball home. Personally I have never come close to a ball in the stands.
  22. It was 1 pitch he was trying to protect on. Every hitter looks stupid many time every year, Judge, Ohtani , all of them.
  23. I think the Sox tried to get cute keeping Paez. I feel like they let go of a few arms that were more conducive to winning. You cant hide an inexperienced pitcher when your BP could get more use than you counted on. Unless Paez hits his stride and they may not keep him long.
