  1. Not just once but constantly.I guess they figure Andrew Vaughn did it very poorly why not Sosa. Just another imagined shortcoming by the fan geniuses along with not teaching outfielders to call flyballs which kids are taught from the time they get on the diamond.
  2. Can't blame him. Maybe if the team can tread water through the injuries and keep it close to .500 and within 5 games of 1st place then if those young guns are ready you bring them up maybe to start or whatever . But like with the hitters you don't want to waste service time when it serves no real purpose. Most of them aren't ready now. I think they want them coming up in waves maybe after the trade deadline. Antonacci is basically less than a month into showing them he has a bit of power and learning a new position. Schultz , Smith & McDougal need to show they can keep it up with the good games overshadowing the bad ones which there will be in Charlotte. That can't be helped. Braden Montgomery is also only in his 2nd pro season like Hagen Smith. Maybe the 3rd wave is Cholowsky, Bonemer, Oppor while the rest are all gaining experience hovering around .500 or higher in 2028.
  3. You were watching the game when they brought in Dominquez weren't you ? Maybe you turned it off after he walked a guy but the rest of that inning went well. Struck out Witt on 3 pitches to end the game.
  4. I don't know why you bother. This place is a s%*# show. Nothing will do but perfection. People act like collisions don't happen in other organizations. Most collisions happen when 2 guys are going hard to the ball. That's called hustle, giving effort. You're arguing with people who call themselves Sox fans but act more like Cub fans dwelling on every little thing that will give them satisfaction that everything the Sox do sucks. Acting like puppies crying through the night, crying every time a reliever let's someone get on base. No posting about I hope those kids they are all right. Just another chance to berate the organization. Drunk posting like it's some badge of honor. Taking glory in football sample sizes . No sympathy or even empathy. Nothing except their own suffering matters. I sure hope the Ishbia's don't read this crap. Wouldn't surprise me if they called the whole thing off . We don't deserve an owner with money who might be willing to build a new ballpark who might have a grand vision of a White Sox resurrection in the heart of the city. Not an ounce of patience in a game that requires it especially when we all know whats going on. But sure lets all act like the front office isn't on Pork Chop Hill. Tactical futility at it's finest. We won the game but you'd be hard pressed to find many kind words in that game thread.
  5. He wasnt as bad as he's been. He made progress. He put up 3.2 innings of zeros. Was striking a lot of guys out. His command wasn't great but guys couldn't even square him enough to hit it fair.
  6. This lineup from this year is a bit different than this lineup from last year.
  7. Sosa did a very Sosa thing getting that 2nd run in.
  8. I always find it funny when people say positive regression. That seems to be a term that comes from sports. But why not just say progression or progress ? Not directing this at you .Its just one of those things .
  9. I think @West Eddy had a post with a portion of the article. It basically said he lost some deceptiveness.
  10. Was interesting to hear what Bannister had to say about it. In his quest to get better he may have accidentally made himself worse.
  11. Not a single hitter in the lineup today hitting above .250 against the LHP Trevor Rogers, 2-0 1.38 ERA . No Mune , No Hays , No Baldwin, No Teel. Since they couldn't hit the guy with the 6 ERA yesterday, maybe they hit the guy with the 1 ERA today. Stranger Things have happened. Meidroth 2B Sosa 1B Vargas DH Montgomery SS Quero C Murray 3B Benitendi LF Acuna CF Hill RF
  12. Beni's been hitting the ball hard. Just not a lot of results to show for it. The hard hit stats bear it out. Sosa is in the lineup today but so is Beni against the LH. Mune's sitting. Montgomery is in too.
  13. Seriously with the way he hit in the 2nd half he couldve had a breakout year .I was expecting something like this because he had been out a while. I was really lookong forward to seeinh him get over 500 AB's and seeing his defensive development. I thought he could be much more than a utility player capable of 25+ HRs. Sox really miss his and Teel's LH bats.
  14. Sounds like a Crochet path. Crochet didnt truly bloom unti he added the cutter.
  15. LFG dudes ! Can't win without runs !
  16. They got this, they dont know what youre talking about. They're gonna stick to the plan. Make him throw strikes , punish the mistakes. Play defense, push the envelop.
  17. It's possible 5 guys come up this year at various points Antonacci, Montgomery, Schultz, Smith and McDougal. You could probably throw Bergolla in that group too. He might be the most ready to do exactly as he does in the minors .How valuable that is , is the question. Defense, Baserunning, decent batting average amd OBP .Perhaps a better version of Meidroth just missing any sort of power.
  18. I dont know what it is. I'm not going to.pretend I've researched the reasons why Bannister feels the way he does or try to explain it out of my ass. I will never overestimate my lack of ability to talk about the techical or the mechanics of hitting and pitching. My expertise about baseball if I have any, is that it requires patience and a certain detachment separate from your fandom to keep things in perspective and analyze situations. Of course my general attitude about the Sox is that I want them to succeed and I tend to focus on the small steps they are taking in a very bad situation and that there is real progress being made. That doesnt mean I think everything they do works but I dont dwell on it or let the past color my observations . Too many fans see patterns of destruction but all teams make mistakes with personnel and the amount of personnel decisions that go bad is directly related to how much you invest in them. The smaller the amount the more likely they are to not have much impact. This is why theres so much dumpster diving . JR isnt willing to invest in the future of the team anymore unless he can see a net positive like with Murakami likely to bring in a certain amount of revenue . But we havent heard anything like what Houston did before they signed Imai with the Astros building the relationship with Japanese Industrial Firm Daikin Comfort Technologies first . This helpef facilitate the Astros deeper entry into the Japanese market, assisting in the scouting and signing of Imai. It appears the Sox or JR never had the foresight to do that before signing Murakami. Hopefully having a real owner who's focus is not solely domestic based leading to hiring inexperienced front office personnel who know little about building international relationships will change once the Ishbia's take over. Make no doubt about it this is big business and we've seen enough of Jerry treating the Sox like a real estate holding for tax benefits. Maybe we all need to be brought up to speed. This is how the big boys do it.
  19. Sometimes you have to be smug even if smugnesd shouldnt apply for small sample size. This isn't football where every win and loss counts a lot more. However there is a lot of smugness going around by the same people who accuse me of tooting my own horn because while tooting my horn, its not so much about that , it's that in order for me to be right others have to be wrong and pointing that out is what really get's their goat. I had really good timing yesterday when I said I didnt really care how they use Taylor I just want to see more zeros by Sox pitchers so what happened next is 9 innings of zeros for the sweep. Also about 2 days before they released Paez I said I thought they got too cute trying to keep a pitcher who obviously didnt belong on the MLB team. They easily couldve kept Pallette because he was more ready having worked his way up through the system but they never gave him a chance or a trial run at the end of the 2025 season and Cleveland grabbed him in the Rule 5 . Looks like the Guardians have used him as an opener a couple of times .Again small sample size but the results have been good whereas the small sample size with Paez on the road was enough to say that keeping him over more polished arms was a mistake.
  20. Despite all the talk in the off season about trading him which I found rather ridiculous, no matter how yoy feel about it the White Sox have to be the team that tries him as a starter. 1st he's a very talented but young arm with the ceiling of being a special arm. Why trade that away ? If there's only a slight possibility of him becoming an elite starter or elite reliever why would you trade that awsy before he had a chance to develop into that ? I respect Bannister probably more than a lot of people here but even with his reservations about future concerns for his health if he starts, how his arm holds up as a SP is not written in stone. Just look what happened with Crochet. So few thought he'd never hold up as a starting pitcher but he not only held up he excelled . Obviously Bannister didnt have the same concerns about Crochet as he may for Taylor but the future is not written. The concerns are only based on some probabilities that could apply but are not guaranteed to be predictive.
  21. 1st time since 2020 that they swept a team this early, (3rd series of the year).
  22. Probably from that play that Murray made. He hit 1st base hard and awkwardly.
