What would you have rather seen from this draft?
Yes it's better than fine . It's mighty fine ! 2 high upside pitchers, one college, one High School , one lefty, one righty . Both considered among the best Meyer , Lacy, Hancock, Detmers, Abel, Crochet ,Kelley those might be the best pitchers to be drafted. 7 names and we got 2 of them. Sure some will fail and others not listed here will step up, but going into the draft those 7 stood out most. Kelley should eventually pitch in the halfway to St. Patrick's Day game.

FS: Garrett Crochet has more similarities to Chris Sale than ‘hard-throwing lefty’

Will There Be a 2020 Season?
Can't imagine not playing at least a week and a half worth of games. Can't get to game speed/competitive juices flowing without practice games. It just doesn't work intra-squad.

You make choices....and you live with them
I lived to see the Bears win a Super Bowl and lose a Super Bowl. I saw all 6 Bulls championships. I saw all 3 Blackhawks Stanley Cups . I saw a White Sox and a Cubs World Series win. I played more organized basketball than any other sport but now the NBA bores me . it's like nothing but 3 point attempts and foul shots. Hockey is a fast paced hard hitting game where players block hard rubber pucks coming at them make fancy passes to rival anything I see in basketball and the speed and grace of the game is often mesmerizing I think football is a great game but why anyone would play it is beyond me because it's the one sport that has a very high risk of severe injury. The athleticism is amazing. Need more kids trying baseball instead of football , In my mind basketball just isn't a team sport anymore. It has the least amount of players who can play it at one time so the reliance of the highly skilled is way too high. Bye bye Bulls.

Pandemic Realignment: Sox in the Cactus League West
Thank you and good luck to you both .

Would you trade Robert for Franco?
This for sure. We are heavily invested in our team and players as most diehards are. Robert is our minds has been a White Sox since he accepted the offer. He could turn out to be the GOAT. Keep the Panther GOAT.

Pandemic Realignment: Sox in the Cactus League West
I was out of work for 4 months and on Workers Comp until the Post Office finally offered me a job doing custodial work at the beginning of the pandemic. I was a letter carrier for 30 years until I had a 2nd herniated disc in my back . I also have COPD and RA so lung and immune system problems so naturally I get hired back to be a janitor cleaning toilets and sticking my face in other peoples garbage and being among the public despite being high risk for catching it and you can also throw in being over 60 years old yet I still don't qualify according to my health plan to get tested. Fun times. Have to have symptoms which I don't luckily. Don't understand the policy of waiting til you're sick to get tested since you can have it for a week or 2 and spread it without exhibiting symptoms . Doesn't seem to be the brightest way to stop the spread. Baseball would be a welcome enjoyment.

Your All Time White Sox team
Johnny Mostil, great fielder, real high OBP. 5 really strong years in the 1920's, 6 if you count 1921with only 378 plate appearances . Legend has it that he once caught a foul ball while playing CF in a ST game I think. An interesting character, had life difficulties.

OOTP 21 Sim of 2020
Ha what's up with this sim? 5 games with the Yanks White Sox outscored 76-14. Yankees average a little over 15 runs per game. So much for my 2nd half surge prediction . The Sox must have the worst team ERA in the whole sim maybe by a lot too. If it wasn't a sim this year would be a total disaster.

There’s No News
I have news ! I am using my Official 2005 World Series White Sox shot glasses a little more without baseball.

2005 World Series game replay
The extensions loom even larger now that this could be a lost season. A lost year of developing and learning isn't good for a team dependent on youth. But then again it's not good at all for anyone.

Field of Dreams Game Cancelled
Actually that sounds about right. If there is some kind of vaccine. It won't even be before 2021 most likely with all the steps they have to go through. Hopefully something helpful, some way of dealing with it becomes the norm before then that can save lives.

RIP Ed Farmer
I'd like to think Eddie loved baseball so much , he couldn't live without it. RIP true Chicagoan !

T-Mobile Free MLB.TV
MLB TV is apparently going to sit on the money I sent them until we find out how much of the season is played. I mean I payed for a whole season . Anyone think we will have a refund or have the full price prorated ?

What would it take to get Noah Syndergaard?
Apparently all we have to do is mention a pitcher as a White Sox now and he needs TJ surgery.

OOTP 21 Sim of 2020
So 24 of 35 picks on catchers and 2nd basemen and trading your top HR hitter while playing Russian roulette with the bullpen. LOL that's some weird GMing . How does a GM even do that with draft picks ? That's just loco. What's up with this sim? Anyway keep up the good work . I'm enjoying it.

Kopech Service Time
I'm just going to guess that any missed time will still count as service time. Therefore Kopech will be eligible whenever his original service time date was. This seems to make the most sense in light of the circumstances.

FS: What's Driving Mercedes' Power?
I wouldn't exactly say darn close to meaningless. If Mercedes had a poor spring it's likely he doesn't have a shot for the 26th man .He's definitely put himself in the running. You could say the same thing about Collins who is perhaps having the finest spring of anyone. A bad spring by him and it just reinforces the many doubters he has that he's a bust. Positive results in spring among the youngsters actually means something. If Kopech sucks we would all be discouraged. Analytically we try to say it means nothing but we all know deep down we are encouraged by good results.

FS: What's Driving Mercedes' Power?
As of now perhaps but still a long way to go to Opening Day. It's also hard to keep him because it's also hard to say what the Sox do with of Collins , If he was more versatile he'd be right up with vying for the 26th man but it is an uphill battle for him .

FS: What's Driving Mercedes' Power?
SInce Yearnin' and Squirmin" have been lagging ,I'm going to keep bumping this until Yermin gets sent down . Yermin hasn't been getting many AB's lately but despite that he took over the ST team HR lead with 2 HR's in his last 3 AB's going back to March 8 against the Padres and March 9 vs. the Reds. With Encarnacion out with his hip problem, I expect to see more of Mercedes who has the same amount of AB's as Palka, Collins could use some more time too .Maybe at 1st base and DH Mendick, Engel and Delmonico are 1,2,3 in AB's despite Delmonico slowing down significantly from his hot start. Could be they are giving him AB's because they know they might have to cut him and trying to get him picked up by another team.

Are the Sox really not going to platoon Mazara in right field?
Examining his spray charts for every year of his career vs. LHP shows me he has been steadily improving his HR rate against them . We can expect to see a few down the LF line. LCF , center, and less to his pull side as he has learned to go with the pitch also over the years and not pull it as much as he did his rookie season. He could still benefit greatly by getting the ball in the air more. His wRC+ on ground balls against all pitchers was a paltry 36 while on fly balls it was 200 and line drives was 290.
