Why does Rutherford get so much guff? Why not throw Gonzalez and Basabe in there with him at least. Most people ranked both of them higher than Rutherford at least on Future Sox. Not just aiming this at you.

Not sure it's for the best . Giolito Moncada and Lopez are all free agents in 2024 . It's time to prioritize a clear window from 2020 to 2024 as the key years to try to win a title so the last couple of years before FA for Robert and Madrigal are not that important. If you worry too much about sustained success you may not reach the true goal which is winning another World Series . Chances are sustained success is going to be a mirage if you want it to last 5+ years . Let's start working on the next 5 years and leave it at that.

Not just the width DeGrom got a high strike call on a ball then McCann pretty much had to swing on the next 2 high pitches. Wegner sucks.

Could be or not . After a K saying its the real McCann and calling it the truth because he's been bad lately doesn't actually make it the truth. I'd like to have some hope here and not actually judge the guy besides knowing he's a hard worker and hoping it might be a breakthrough.

Yes it is. McCann had a heck of a 1st half and he is slumping now . I have a lot of respect for catchers. I wasn't one of those who thought he should be extended. I always knew he could revert back to being who we all thought he was but I don't discount the possibility that he might have turned a corner as a hitter. He was using the whole field very well the 1st half and his approach seemed much improved.

It might be what you think it is, it might not . Some hitters actually do become better over time especially catchers .

If anyone deserve a break its catchers. You don't know whats the truth. All you know is he wasnt good most of his career and he's slumping now. SO you fall back to playing the odds. Genius.
