  1. Asterisks are my contributions to Josh PRs list.
  2. Yep when we played the Yankees and he was in RF made some great plays.
  3. Tolleson ? Nordhagen?, I think he was an OF though.
  4. It is hard to believe. A week or 2 ago I was thinking the only thing better would be if he started hitting a few more homers and poof !, he started hitting more HR's. Not only that but his dramatic turnaround is giving people hope that Engel could someday turn it around.
  5. I need an interpreter , What's it supposed to mean. Did 80's Day replace Mullet Day ? When is that day ? Is it supposed to be the day Santiago is on the 25 again ?
  6. Eloy has now hit a miles worth of HR's for the Sox. Sharing random useless thought here. A few months ago I remember joking about the Jetsons when someone called Eloy. Elroy. Now I want to call Eloy, Eloy Jettisson because he jettisons baseballs into the stands.
  7. Men have PMS too. Perpetually Mad Syndrome.
  8. Ross Detwiler pitched 5 innings and held the Twins to 2 runs in his 1st start for the Sox, James McCann and Eloy Jimenez both hit 2 run Homers. Jose Abreu had 2 hits and an RBI. Colome picked up his 17th save. Anderson and Moncada were out with injuries. Timmy for 4-6 weeks.
  9. Yes you are a fan as am I and have been here for 15 years, We are just different kinds of fans. I don't have blind faith. I have needled posters such as Fathom for getting on guys like Madrigal and Rutherford. I also have told him he is very knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. I have got on Moan4Yoan about him ragging on the front office constantly but I have also told him he knows his stuff and it's good he reminds us of the many many mistakes that the FO has made. I call out posters for being overly arrogant and in your case overly and perhaps unrealistically optimistic. I am sorry if you feel I am picking on you. Everyone posts negative comments ,even you . We all wish the best for this team and have many differing opinions on how best to become a winning team. There is no malice in my posts.
  10. Me ? Mr Negative ? You don't know me at all. I tell the truth and love prospects. I deal in reality. What I just said to you was not negative it was the truth. I call a spade a spade. I don't look at things through rose colored glasses except for prospects because they are young and deserve the benefit of the doubt though I know most won't make it. What I don't do is automatically pencil prospects into a ML career for 10 years let alone predict massive success for them. I want them to succeed , hope they , succeed , wish they all have long careers but I don't use my hopes and wishes to make arguments I can't substantiate.
  11. Something no one will remember you said in 10 years or whatever it takes to prove you right or wrong.
  12. Most of us don't really care when it was made, only that it was made. If he didn't want to be DFA'd near the time of his charity event he could've hit better. He got paid handsomely enough that he can afford to sponsor a charity event and it's probably a nice little tax write off that guys making $9M/year do. He couldn't recruit Machado and while that failure ultimately falls on the FO he also couldn't hit. Good luck wherever you end up. Mr. Alonso.
  13. Can you ever admit you were wrong ? Your post said at the time he was acquired he was struggling. Then you move the goal posts and say the previous 3 years.
  14. I didn't even notice that he must have been promoted since Collins was called up. I like it. Despite many calling him a non prospect because of his catching abilities and age (26) he always could hit.
  15. This is something I don't think about very often but you are right. When the divisions were realigned in 1994 the Sox were geographically surrounded by teams not really known for large payrolls.. Detroit yes, the rest not so much. The Sox have not taken advantage of that Since 94 the Indians have won the division 8 times, Twins 6 , Tigers 4 , White Sox 3, Royals once. Twins, Indians Tigers and Royals have each won the WC once, White Sox 0. Every team has made the playoffs in consecutive years except the White Sox. On the positive side since 94 the Central has won 2 World Series by the Sox and Royals. I guess the Sox not are really known to spend much money either acting more like a mid market team than a big market team. Maybe that's what we are since we share the city but not winning very often really means we just gave away the city to the Cubs.
  16. You think very highly of yourself if you think you speak for everyone.
  17. Why does this amaze you ? The starting pitching sucks, Fans realize that the only way to win is to out hit the opponent . He might suck but he probably won't be Alonso bad at hitting and may actually hit a few out in the process.
  18. No interactions with players but my dad and me and my brothers were surprised one day to see we were in the program in an ad for family day in 1972 maybe.I think Norm Cash of the Tigers told me once to fuck off or something, maybe that dissuaded me from trying again.
  19. I think so. He'll get a litle bigger and stronger. If he makes it to the big leagues I can see him hitting 20-25 after a few years when he's around 28.
  20. Ok a little late . No one picked up the slack. Looked like an exciting game. Hit Sale around a little bit lead 6-3 , Blow it in the 8th, Abreu hits 2 run HR in 9th and Sox hang on. McCann 2 hits one of them a solo jack. Looks like Jimenez had a rough go with Sale. Moncada left the game early after HBP to the knee area. Andrew Vaughn as in Gone signs. All in all not a bad day.
  21. This is spot on especially the part about removing the luck along with a superstar having a down half a season and still would be our best player. The worst thing about loving Giolito or Moncada or Eloy and Anderson is that they have no sustained success and we cannot yet expect them to do well because any young player can get hot and then revert back to being bad. That is always the worry until they get a few good years in a row under their belts. It is the same thing with counting on Robert and Madrigal. All these players have so very little time actually being good and in the case of prospects not even good at the highest level. It's great to have hope and believe it's all working but there is nothing wrong with having as close to a sure thing as you can get. Taylor Street couldn't have said Hahn was killing it 6 months ago. He shouldn't be claiming victory based on a few months of sample size. Not to mention all the other bad GM'ing things bmags brought up in Hahn's reign.
  22. SO Fry a lefty intentional walks Bradly a lefty. Oivay . Oh well at least Robert, Madrigal ,and Rutherford all had pretty good nights.
