  1. I think so ,imagine if he breaks out then he's great trade bait, His name was thrown around at the deadline but the Rangers hung onto him. If they were seriously thinking to non tender him they probably bite on something that was offered.
  2. Houston got their version of Tatis Jr from the Dodgers , Yordan Alvarez for a crappy reliever.
  3. Don't think he'll be non tendered. He's remarkably consistent for a kid in age 21-24 seasons. Great power. He's the kind of guy who you wait for a break out season. His OPS has crept up little by little every year. You just don't see guys non tendered with the kind of power he has. Next year he could hit 40. I'd take a shot on him if he was cheap and if non tendered I'd be 1st in line for him.
  4. Woo saw the location and that 2nd pitch on game day and thought HR !
  5. Lynn learned don't throw a hot free swinger anything good once you get ahead of him.
  6. Oh Leury needed patience there. Lynn wasn't locating his 4 seamer at all.
  7. By confidence I'm not talking about what he says at all. I am talking about what is done or in this case not done. If they want to compete in 2020 then he should have been brought up be it June 1st ,July 1st, or August1 1st. My main point is you don't go into battle without one of your serious weapons. I realize it's only a handful of games but if he struggles at 1st like Moncada and Eloy then it becomes however long it takes him to adjust . I was just hoping he could get adjusted this year but he may be a guy who doesn't struggle much. I'm certainly hoping for that now. I'd put Madrigal in the same boat though he is not the weapon Robert is but still possibly better than anyone currently in the mix. I look forward to the off season but just don't think the Sox have their hearts or wallet into doing what's necessary to compete next year. This constant need to look at the distant future such as they did when KW gave his reasons for missing out on Machado seems like the exact same thing when anyone talks about 2026. They haven't shown me anything to think they can have sustained success but I'd gladly take a 3-5 year window that has a reasonable chance at a World Championship opening next year.
  8. OK Ptatc you're always in good standing.
  9. They might be silly I agree with that but he's had one bad month and 5 good ones. To say because of that one bad month he is more in line with his career stats is just not true. For all of Agust he is hitting as well if not better than the 1st half.
  10. I don't wish they lock him up but he did start the post All Star games in a big slump. However he rebounded very nicely from that In the last 30 games he is at .278/.323/.467/.790 including 2 grand slams. In the last 7 games he is at .304/.333/.696/1.029 . In August he is at .333/.380/.591/.971
  11. That seems easy enough. They are worried about Reinsdorf's risk aversion to signing guys especially starting pitchers to long term/expensive deals and his owner protection clauses that top FA don't want to deal with.
  12. Ah ok so I'm back to me and Parkman lol. But I do now have Fegan on my side.
  13. Maybe he would be more positive when he see signs that the Sox are doing things to make sustained success a reality . The rebuild is almost over and those things should've started 3 years ago.
  14. Oh gotcha . I was starting to feel alone here thinking I was the only one who still wanted them( Robert and Madrigal along with Yermin Collins Mendick) up asap. I know it's still against what a lot of knowledgeable posters here think but in my own defense I think I am just as knowledgeable and it's nice to see my opinion backed up by Fegan when some of the guys who want them (Robert and Madrigal) kept down are very arrogant in their views like it's the only smart thing to do. I do know Parkman also believes they should be up too.
  15. Wait so you are saying Fegan doesn't actually believe what he writes now and is just a shill for hits? That would severely tarnish his rep as a very knowledgeable if not the most knowledgeable Sox writer out there. Do you say this because the opinion in the article goes against your own personal opinion ?
  16. But how successful and impactful will the players they do sign be ?
  17. Nice to see this addressed by Fegan even if I can't read it, Just by what it says in the title is exactly what I've been getting at. The Sox aren't saying 2020 is a contending year and probably don't have a lot of confidence then that they will sign impactful Free Agents otherwise calling Robert and Madrigal up wouldve made a lot of sense. Whereas here many are expecting the Sox to contend but still want them kept down. If I am wrong about the contend of the article based on the title I'm sure someone will tell me.
