  1. Hoosiers got my hopes up for a second there. I still think we'll steal one at home at some point this season.
  2. I didn't know you got snow days in college. Whee.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 27, 2009 -> 04:07 PM) And for logistics, do you mean shipping, as in DH Robinson stuff? I honestly have never heard of that program and I went to a very business program focused school. It's pretty common. A lot of schools have Operations or Supply Chain Management programs, and logistics falls into that category.
  4. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 05:22 PM) Cool - you were drunk in two languages! Yes apparently, I was was. What a night. Here's a tip: If you get to your friend's place and you find out they have no beer but plenty of vodka, it's going to be an interesting night.
  5. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jan 23, 2009 -> 09:55 AM) the gin blossoms...yeah you can make fun of me if you want Hell yes! Saw them live last summer, they were great, had a lot of energy and played well.
  6. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 05:14 PM) The rest of the cast looks like hoosiers, three pointers and slow. Sadly, I'm not sure if that's a reference to the movie or this year's team.
  7. IT took me roundly four clicklys nto get into thi thead! Someone told me tonight that apparently advik( (or aspirin) ius bad for you after you drink and can kill you? I thought it was good becauwse it things your blood faster. Can some clean tis up po favo?
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 21, 2009 -> 09:38 PM) Nobody in the Big 10 is THAT bad (at least not this year, Crean will get the ship righted there pretty fast). But yeah, who had Northwestern at Michigan State AND Virginia Tech at Wake Forest tonight? Wow. I still think we'll steal one game this season, I just don't know which one. We had a big lead on Michigan, and played Penn St decently close. Not like going 1-15 in the Big Ten is desirable but hey, everyone knows Crean gets a free pass this year.
  9. My biggest concern this election more than anything -- Iraq, Gay Marriage, alternative energy -- was education. More than anything else, education is really a building block in a person's life. I was lucky enough to go to a good public school, but many aren't, I really think we need to completely restructure education in this country, and stop using band-aids.
  10. I didn't realize it was possible for the Thread of the Year award to be won three days into 2009.
  11. If there are such a thing as moral victories, IU got one today. We actually played pretty well for once, and it was on the road in the Big Ten, even if it was a young Iowa team. Crean gets a blank check this year, so it's not a big deal.

  13. Of all the bands I mentioned, I'm the most iffy on THS. I like their music a lot, but the vocals are eh, though a few songs I really like.
  14. I've had Waitress in the Sky in my head most of the day. Often, I've found that you guys can give some pretty good band recommendations. I listened to The Hold Steady because of LMB and DukeNukeEm always talking about them, I got some Motion City Soundtrack because Gage said they were pretty good, and I just started listening to the Replacements (literally only just -- I've listened to a couple albums once so far, but not Let It Be yet, that's next) because Kid said they were really good, and the same goes for the Pixies. In short: You guys give good music listening tips. Good job.
  15. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Dec 19, 2008 -> 03:54 PM) Semisonic, right? Vastly underated band. Which is suprising given how much Closing Time seemed to polarize the entire 90's generation Yeah, and Closing Time is the first track on it. I don't think that's even my favorite on the album, there's some good ones there. Minneapolis has put out some damn good bands, IMO.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 19, 2008 -> 10:25 AM) Thats like saying its been widely speculated that there is a lochness monster so when they actually confirmed it was there it wasnt a bigger deal than the speculation. The kid came out and confirmed it, and confirmed the coach knew about it. It's not like saying that at all. The Loch Ness Monster is an extraordinary, highly improbable creature. Marijuana on a college campus? Very, very possible, and very, very likely. It was pretty much accepted on campus last year that drugs were a huge culture on the team, which is why this doesn't surprise me. What does surprise me (well, not really) is Gordon distancing from it, since that's not exactly what I remember going on.
  17. Yeah, not really surprising on the IU weed thing, it was pretty much assumed last year.
  18. Feeling Strange Fine is a good little album.
  19. True...sort of. I already went on vacation this month. The person below me has eaten steak within the last 48 hours.
  20. False. The person below me has been to a college basketball game this season.
  21. Hey, IU won tonight over a non-super small school! After the first 15 minutes or so, they actually played decently, for IU anyways.
  22. The Red Lion Inn (on Clark) is believed to be haunted. I've also heard the Cuba Rd ones, those are freaky.
  23. I'm not sure exactly how to describe today's game. I mean, 88-50 is pretty much the type of score I expected, so it's not really bad, I guess? I dunno. I have a feeling the whole season will feel like this.
  24. Ugh. I'm just glad this season is over. Bring on next season, preferably without Bill Lynch.
