So I totally didn't remember mentioning cockblocking...probably sounds like I'm angry. I'm not, just forgetful drunk! Plus it was his house, stuff happens.
-
HOLY MACKEREL (DID I SPEELL TH?AT RIGHT?A) HE IS. That is hi-larious, not gonna lie. I may or may not have been cockblocked tonight. It happens.

Dear Soxtalk, I'm drunk right now. But I somehow got breadsticks and a coke from Aver's without paying for it. Taking advantage of other drunk people...that's sort of a sin...but he was cockblocking me, so it's equal. Aver's is the best in Bloomington, no lie.

Our Band Could Be Your Life by Michael Azerrad It chronicles a lot of the 80s punk bands, it's a pretty interesting read.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 16, 2009 -> 02:29 AM) I actually find "shut up Weber" to be pretty damn funny, but the Eric Gordon chant had me laughing in a different way. IU has a GREAT fan base to be selling out a 17,000 seat arena with a horrible team (even with the future being bright), but to hear what sounded like on television to be the vast majority of the arena chanting that just shows lack of knowledge. Yeah, most of the building was chanting it, unfortunately. A few people in front of me (I was lucky enough to be behind the basket today) tried to get it going early in the game, but luckily no one joined in and it died quickly. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 15, 2009 -> 11:07 PM) I'm aware Indiana is going to be very good again in a few years, but the majority of the arena chanting "Eric Gordon" just makes you look stupid. Yep. That's why my friends and I didn't join in, and just looked around sort of disappointed at that point. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 15, 2009 -> 04:19 PM) Brock shouldn't have been T'd up on that play. That was a bad call, even Greg Anthony was saying refs made a mistake on that. Debatable. There was some jawing go on, and I honestly could not tell if he was celebrating or taunting. It was also hard to see what was going on with him and Pritchard near the end of the game in that loose ball. -

The IU-Illinois game was fun. Couple of notes: How hard is it to box out? Come on guys. I can't count the amount of times Davis or Tisdale flew in for the put back. I like Davis as a player; I haven't watched Illinois too much, but he seems like a pretty athletic (if slightly undersized) big, who can move around the rim. Calvin Brock's putback dunk was nasty. Too bad he ruined it with the technical. Daniel Moore played all out; I was really impressed. There was a great scene where in the middle of the 2nd half run, Moore and Crean embraced in the huddle. Whoever the fan was that yelled out "Weber eat s*** and die" is stupid. I don't really mind the Weber Sucks and Sit Down Weber chants, those come with the territory I feel, but that one was over the line. And why were people still doing Eric Gordon chants? I refused to join in. It hurt not having Dumes, you could tell. However, the Hoosiers are definitely looking better than they did earlier in the year. -
I found a shirt in a parking lot so I wore it home. Then I realized it was a Colts shirt. Ew.

I'm fine with keeping drugs separate, but food definitely needs to be merged. Food regulation can be a mess in this country -- no one talks, outdated technologies, overlapping reports. For example, take a pizza factory -- there could be five different agencies looking at those pizzas, depending if there's meat on it, etc. We need a single food agency.

QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 09:35 PM) out of curiousity and maybe someone here knows.. how do the laws protect individuals in similar situations such as being in the US on a student visa or vacationing from another country and this happens? So again, non US citizens. ' Not really sure. Any criminal act against them I think wouldn't be discounted on the fact they are not a citizen (since criminal acts are crimes against society, and society is technically the one taking the action against the defendant by bringing the case through the state), but perhaps by something else, I'm not really familiar with it. As for civil cases, I'd assume they couldn't bring one, but if they would be able to be named as defendants in a civil suit.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 11:23 PM) What's really sad is there are a ton of young people watching the show tonight, wondering who the hell Robert Plant is, and why did he just win an award. He was the one lucky enough to sing with Alison Krauss, right?

Blue Album and Pinkerton are incredible. The Blue Album is one of the top 10 albums of the 1990s, in my opinion. Red Album is ok, it's better than Maladroit and Make Believe, but not as good as the Green Album (which isn't anywhere near as good as the Blue Album or Pinkerton).

QUOTE (greasywheels121 @ Feb 4, 2009 -> 09:29 PM) Believe it or not, this season really hasn't been as painful as our record would make it; I've had a lot of fun watching this group play. But it's super sweet finally getting that first Big Ten win under Coach Crean. Most definitely. Not sure if they showed it on BTN or not (though apparently they showed me yelling "Fsck Yeah!" near the end of the game), but Crean said a few words to the crowd after the game, it was nice. -
Yes it is, but the timing is more inconvenient.

When Ohio State was in Bloomington over the weekend, I was pretty unimpressed by Mullens. He had one or two flashes of athleticism and whatnot, but most of the time he was awkward and out of position. -
That is one of the most powerful pieces I have ever read.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 31, 2009 -> 05:59 PM) Tom Crean, professional clown. Nice PJ's by the way. Wasn't today like a Coaches vs. Cancer type game or something? First game him and his staff haven't been in a spiffy suit. -
QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 31, 2009 -> 01:13 AM) what else are you supposed to do in Iceland? Watch volcanos create new islands? I'm sure Balta can correct my horrible overgeneralization, but in my defense, I learned that in a class that Balta himself probably took back in the day.

QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 03:06 AM) Yes im glad you know Pete Carrol personally and know exactly what he thinks. He maybe shouldnt have been so outspoken against Sanchez decision in the public but most coaches grow a connection to the kids they recruit especially the QB, Id think he has atleast some of what would be best for Sanchez himself in his mind too. And Sanchez isnt a grown ass man, he is a 21-22 year old kid who probably has an agent in his ear who without a doubt cares about nothing but money. -

I think I'm with Balta on this one -- there has to be some sort of service for people in his situation, which I think is the biggest issue here. And of course, if the electric company didn't tell him about the device, they are negligent.
