  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 13, 2014 -> 05:55 AM) I think they already said he will be back. That just seems silly.
  2. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 11:43 PM) I feel like a lot of people had this same thought. My brother texted me immediately after Weeden was released and said he could see the Bears signing him. I've never been a fan, but we could do far worse at the backup spot. And don't feel too bad. It wasn't Schefter who tweeted it. It was Russ Lande tweeting at Schefter. Pretty much my thoughts. Having the Quarterback Whisperer as the Head Coach makes finding a backup QB a little easier, I think. Both because he'll actually get more production out of the quarterback, and because it entices the QB to come here.
  3. Barring some absolutely absurd Big East tourney run, I assume Purnell is gone after this year. Who do you think DePaul will go after/who do you think it should go after?
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 10:54 PM) Georgetown decided to get their choke job out of the way before the NCAA tourney this year. My roommate is a big Georgetown fan. I'm surprised I haven't heard maniacal depressed screaming for the past hour.
  5. Dammit, Schefter. When I saw the Browns cut Weeden I said to myself "He'll be the Bears backup this year." Come in here and see Schefter had that thought 7 hours before I even found out Weeden was cut.
  6. Been to Austin once to visit a friend, it was a lot of fun, neat city. Just kinda weird, since it's the liberal bastion of Texas, but it's still Texas. Barely ventured into Hill Country, my they were telling me about it and it was basically exactly like you described. Went to the most amazing barbecue place I've ever been to, the Salt Lick Ranch. Spectacular.
  7. Olbermann with a scathing attack on Bonds and the Giants right now.
  8. That play sums up the Bulls' night so far. Hinrich falls down on the break, then Taj misses the dunk.
  9. QUOTE (zenryan @ Mar 10, 2014 -> 09:09 PM) Little harsh? The guy was unconscious, he probably snapped back to consciousness and had no clue what happened. Yeah, that's how I took it.
  10. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 10, 2014 -> 03:19 PM) Not sure how "probably" Seems 50/50 to me. If Indiana plays like they can, Indiana should win. If Indiana plays like they usually do, Illinois should win. So yeah, 50/50.

I've surprised myself, I've really grown to like Mickey's character on Shameless this year. Noel Fisher steals every scene he's in, unless Kevin is also in it. Then they're co-winners.
  12. QUOTE (scs787 @ Mar 9, 2014 -> 10:28 PM) This. Bulls/Heat is the biggest rivalry in sports. Rivalry games are always huge. Well this is an overstatement....

QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 9, 2014 -> 09:40 PM) Bummed at the results. I see what you mean. It was a solid finale, but didn't quite deliver as much as the rest of the season had led up to.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 9, 2014 -> 06:12 PM) Christopher Kamka ‏@ckamka 29m Even if you subtracted all of Kane, Toews & Sharp's goals, the #Blackhawks would still have 15 more goals than the Sabres That's nuts. Speaking of Kane's goals, that was a pretty slick one there in the first period.
  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 9, 2014 -> 07:22 PM) I feel bad for J4L. Can't even enjoy a fun win. Go have a beer and reflect on life dude. Yeah just not loose enough. Relax bro! People can understand that winning in the regular season is different than beating the Heat in the playoffs while still enjoying a fun game.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 8, 2014 -> 07:42 PM) Hate the possible quarterfinal match up Dakich said it right during the broadcast...Indiana can beat anybody, and Indiana can lose to anybody.
  17. Indiana-Michigan could turn into a decent little rivalry, some good games the past few years.
  18. Loyola needed overtime to beat Maine West? I know nothing about this year's teams, but just in general that doesn't seem right. Maine West is awful at everything.
  19. Yeah, from what I've seen from Nola, he seems solid but not the type of guy you take at 3. I could see him at the end of the first.
  20. Didn't see this posted. Food for thought.

    Teen Sues Parents

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 7, 2014 -> 09:40 AM) Yes but those large orgs had tens of thousands of qualified workers doing 100 times the good that those Occupy kids did. s***, there were religious orgs that probably did the same amount of work. Volunteers in general are great, but Occupy was a portion of a tiny drop in a bucket. In the case of Sandy, money was incredibly important due to the vast desolation of so much infrastructure and the complete collapse of local economy. This is a good point. I think our difference here is that I'm lending some credence to his claim that larger organizations -- Red Cross, for instance -- did not do as much as the media portrayed them to. But you're right, there were probably plenty of religious organizations and nonprofits who didn't get media attention who also help out a lot.

    Teen Sues Parents

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 7, 2014 -> 09:22 AM) Raising money isnt a bunch of entitled people throwing money at an issue, far from it. These groups helped rebuild the area, fund the actual repair of resources, business and homes. They also helped bring the equipment needed to bring the area back to what it is supposed to be ecologically. Reddy's group of kids could have moved as much sand in 3 months as one truck did in an hour. It's LAUGHABLE to think that anything related to Occupy cleaned up "most" of the Sandy damage. It's completely false and crazy. Yeah, his claim about "most" was overstated, you're right. But I also don't think you're giving enough to credit to actually being there and doing something about it, not just donating money. Donating money is great! Don't get me wrong, it's more than I did. But you have to give some credit to people who actually went there and did something about it. And for OWS to do a fair amount makes sense given its location.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 6, 2014 -> 03:12 PM) Where did "the movement" get the trucks and tools to do that? Since they did "most" of the work. How much money did they raise for the rebuilding of homes and businesses? Wait, I found it. A laughable 1.4 million. I can't really comment on the veracity of either of your claims, but I don't think donating money = doing a lot of cleanup work. Make a lot of it possible? Sure. But it was pretty clear he was referring to boots on the ground. I also think it's kind of funny that he made that comment in response to statements that Occupy was full of a bunch of entitled kids, and your response is to say "they didn't donate nearly as much money as all these other groups." Throwing money at a problem is a hallmark of entitlement. Look, I wasn't a fan of Occupy. I thought nationally it came off as a bunch of whiners. But in this instance, even if his claims are only half true, he has a point.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Mar 6, 2014 -> 12:21 PM) Tuesday's episode of Person of Interest was a good background episode. Showed that Finch knew about Mr. Reese before he hired him. Yeah I liked that episode.
