Kelvin Sampson hired at Houston. I'm not sure if it will be because he's too dumb or has too big of an ego, but he will end up in trouble again. What's the loss to him, go back to coaching in the NBA? -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 1, 2014 -> 08:01 PM) Matt Carlino transferring and can play right away. Hoosiers a player or too much bad blood there? Haven't heard anything, but I can't imagine moving across the country to Bloomington as a sophomore in high school, or later to go to UCLA (and then BYU) doesn't bode well for him coming back. And honestly, I'm not worried about our guards for next year. It's the little-to-no post depth that will be the problem. -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 1, 2014 -> 02:52 PM) Its a strange and preventable concept for sure. I was thinking it would be more along the lines of what happened in trainspotting where the tape ended up in another video case and was sent out. Personally, I like Jason Segal, and this looks along the same lines as Horrible Bosses(which i enjoyed) That seems like a good comparison. This looks funny.

Justified with a real good one last night. Next week is the season finale. I have to imagine Darryl Crowe Jr. is going down.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 1, 2014 -> 11:13 PM) Bobby Knight is an absolutely horrendous analyst. Does anyone actually think he does a good job or like listening to him? The game has also badly passed him by. He still doesn't think a 3 pointer is a good shot. I don't understand how him and Lou Holtz are still paid to talk on television. -
Sean Casey looks legit coked out right now on MLB Tonight.

QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Mar 28, 2014 -> 04:48 PM) This is an incredibly stupid question, but I will ask anyway. Is there a specific channel or cable package I need, or... web site subscription I need to watch NCAA baseball games? Reason being, and relativity to the thread discussion, I'd really like to see some of these top-1o draft prospects..... Problem is I live on a small island off the coast of South Carolina and we have really terrible TV service with seemingly zero selection in regards to providers, so internet would be best. ESPN 3 probably has the most.

QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 28, 2014 -> 12:03 PM) I really don't want to face either in the division. I just really think that they will succeed because they did so well with pressure in their face. Whatever pro day is, that is not a game scenario. If he literally could not come close to hitting anyone, that's one thing, but I'm not hearing anything that would scare me. People put way too much stock in the combine and pro days, IMO. I place by far the most weight on how a kid actually played in games.

No way Bridgewater is falling out of the first solely because of a bad pro day. A lot of people round these parts want the Vikings to draft Manziel at 8 if he's there. If both Manziel and Bridgewater are there at 8, I take Bridgewater if I'm Minnesota.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 28, 2014 -> 09:00 AM) Finding an iPod I haven't touched in about five years has been fun. Listening to a lot of bands I was more into 5-8 years ago. Such as?

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 28, 2014 -> 07:53 AM) I hope Wisconsin has a fab five type effect on kids and instead of long shorts and black socks they all want to be polish with buzz cuts. Wisconsin broke the Bo Ryan Rule! Shows what I know.

QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 26, 2014 -> 09:51 AM) I think Leo role was damn good. My main gripe with the movie was the poo-pooing of what they were actually doing illegally really hurt the movie. I thought Kyle Chandler was the best role in the movie and would have preferred he play a bigger role (the boat scene was by far the best). I saw it this past weekend, and after seeing it, I think a lot of the criticisms of the movie were pretty valid. It was just a bro-heaven genre movie. The last 30 minutes when the party stopped did not redeem that. I thought DiCaprio was great in it. My main complaint with the movie was that it was about a half hour too long. The whole scene with the boat in the storm easily could have been cut. And you're right, Kyle Chandler was fantastic, as was the boat scene.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 24, 2014 -> 10:22 AM) I mean Shaw is hotter than Root, but Root has that insane intelligence quality that I enjoy. Shaw is smoking. Amy Acker (Root) is pretty darn attractive too, though. Just realized Sarah Shahi (Shaw) is married to Steve Howey, AKA Kev from Shameless.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Mar 24, 2014 -> 10:15 AM) It was filmed in Lynwood, IL, about 1/4 mile over the IN/IL border at a place called the "Lynwood Carry Out". They changed the sign, obviously. How long ago was that? I always like seeing how long it takes to go from filming to airing.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 24, 2014 -> 09:57 AM) As well he should. Get out of there while you are healthy and your stock is high. Yeah, considering he's still in the 4-12 range (mostly 5-8 from what I've seen) AFTER IU sucked to end the season and his foot issues, it's a no brainer. Get paid, kid. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 23, 2014 -> 09:22 PM) What am I missing here... EDIT: OH it looked like beer. I just assumed it was that nasty looking brown drink he usually drinks during games. Usually it's in a Dasani bottle but I'm guessing the conference made him put it in an "official beverage container" during the tournament. -
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Mar 24, 2014 -> 12:14 AM) Finally got to see that "Kenosha Carry Out" scene that I watched being filmed last month. Now I get why I didn't recognize Emmy Rossum, because she was so drugged up and ugly. It's a shame the big reflector screen was blocking me from seeing Lip. I was assuming it was Robbie this entire time. Was that actually filmed in Kenosha, or somewhere down in NWI?

Over/under on how many times "shocker" is used as a headline pun today/tomorrow?

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 23, 2014 -> 10:21 AM) This is the just of it. http://www.highschoolcubenews.com/news_art...errer_id=596370 Rick Brunson was heard telling the IHSA that if Jalen is suspended, he will take his kid out of state next year and will never play for an Illinois team. Everything was resolved at the very last second. Here is the pic in question. I admit it looks really bad but it's a mixture of technology and social media snowballing something that was nothing. That's absurd. IHSA is a joke all around. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 22, 2014 -> 07:27 PM) I'll let you explain more since you're there and were giving me all the info but that was one of the more bizarre things ever to follow. What a joke that whole thing was. Yeah, whatchu talkin bout Willis? -
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 17, 2014 -> 05:43 PM) This week, Neil deGrasse Tyson basically called anyone who believes in a God a fool. He went so far as to say people who believe in God do so because we dont want to think we might be related to monkeys who throw poop. (literally, he almost used those exact words) That is not what he said. Given your comments I went into this episode thinking he was going to just lambaste religious people left and right. This is what he actually said: "We all understand the twinge of discomfort at the thought that we share a common ancestor with the apes. No one can embarrass you like a relative. Our closest ones, the chimpanzees, frequently behave inappropriately in public. There's an understandable human need to distance ourselves from them. A central premise of traditional belief is that we were created separately from all the other animals. It's easy to see why this idea has taken hold -- it makes us feel special." I don't see how that's an over-the-top assault on religion. If it's that last line that offended you, that's a central premise of the show -- that we can feel special because we are so intertwined with life, nature and the Cosmos.
