QUOTE (onedude @ Mar 5, 2014 -> 02:40 PM) The actor that played Jean-Baptiste wanted out of the show early(didn't like the screen time he was getting or something)...but they had plans for him later in the season. The writers actually fell an episode story short because of this, so Yost had to create a quick story for Raylan to plod through to catch up to next weeks episode. Ava's and Boyd's stories were still pretty decent, and Raylans was aight. Yeah Ava's and Boyd's were solid. It was just Raylan's that kinda bored me.

No energy all game. Not like it matters, the only way were getting in anyway was winning the B1G Tournament. With the way the conference has been all year, I could see any of the 12 teams winning it. My guess is MSU, though. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 5, 2014 -> 09:26 AM) I have it on DVR. Bottle episode? What?

Justified was weird last night. Not sure why they needed to have an entire episode of Raylan running around trying to protect a random guy from Manny from Boardwalk Empire.

Brian, can you give me my yearly update on how New Trier is doing? I saw they're playing GBS in the regional final.

Could we see 42 yard extra points? -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 3, 2014 -> 09:19 PM) Damn. That is really a horrible experience. Did they pay for your hotel room? Can you stay wherever you want or was it some Motel 6? Yeah, they gave me a voucher for a specific place, it was fine.

Well played game by the Hoosiers, especially since Vonleh was out. -
QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 1, 2014 -> 02:56 PM) So I'm sitting at the gate in Vegas right now, and Delta announces there's a blown tire and they have to fly a new one in. Delayed at least 3 hours, which makes me think it will be 6 hours. Solid. That was fun. A bit after the three hours were up, they announced that the tire had come in, but another part had to be flown in, too. That part would arrive from Atlanta too late to allow the crew to violate without violating crew service rules. Therefore, the flight would be delayed until 8 am this morning. I arrive at 6:15 and find out the 8 am has been cancelled. The problem still had not been fixed. Ended up waiting standby and was lucky to get out on the 11:30. Landed in Minneapolis 23 hours after I was originally supposed too. Definitely jinxed myself there.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 27, 2014 -> 01:28 PM) What court ruling says you have a right, guaranteed by the second amendment, to carry a gun wherever you want (barring some exclusions like government buildings and airports)? If I had to guess, Jenks is coming at it from the point that unless the applicable court says you do not have a right to carry a gun in a certain place, then you do have a right to carry a gun in that place. You seem to want the opposite -- a baseline of not having a right to have generally have guns in public, unless specifically allowed.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Feb 27, 2014 -> 01:23 PM) You already have Muslim cab drivers in Minneapolis that refuse to transport people carrying booze or with service animals. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but there's been multiple times I've been carrying alcohol and had a Muslim cab driver in Minneapolis.
-
While I don't agree with him on this, I will say that Jenks made pretty clear that it comes down to how you value different Constitutional rights. He values them equally. No one save for illinilaw has really done a good job of responding to him on that main point. Like it or not, the Second Amendment exists and isn't going anywhere. Since it's admitted that there are restrictions on that right, the question really becomes what restrictions are reasonable.

I really wonder where the Raylan/Art thing is headed. You know Raylan is getting in trouble during his "vacation."

I'm flying Delta today. Haven't really had any problems with them before, let's hope that continues.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 26, 2014 -> 09:24 PM) Shopping in general is a choice. Do you have a constitutional right to be able to go into private businesses? And I'm not discounting the distinction here. I just think it's a distinction without a difference when you're talking about the logic behind it. If you're infringing on a constitutional right, you're infringing on a constitutional right. Opening a business is a choice. And it's subject to not discriminating on the basis of race, color, religion, or national origin. Aside from religion, none of those are choices.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 25, 2014 -> 09:20 PM) I was literally saying the same thing about getting it to Vonleh. Yogi just won't do it. I like what we were doing with putting Vonleh at the top and letting him drive. I did not like the second half. -
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 26, 2014 -> 08:38 PM) Because again carrying a gun is just like being gay or black. While I personally agree with this, I don't really like that line of argument. All are protected by the Constitution (well, carrying a gun and race are, hopefully sexual orientation will be soon too), so if you go down this path I feel it inevitably leads to trying to say which Constitutional rights are more important than others. I don't think any amendment should really be paramount to another, unless there's direct conflict, and that shouldn't happen.
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 26, 2014 -> 07:14 PM) As SS said, I dunno that that's true. And I guarantee that's the next step in this debate - is it constitutional to bar someone entry into a business for doing something that's constitutionally protected. But really, you're a hypocrite. You don't agree with something that someone does/is, and you're fine discriminating against them. When the "something" is what you support, it's terrible. When it's not, it's acceptable. I assume you support the no gun sign provisions in the various concealed carry laws - how is that any different from what Kansas and other states are trying to do here? You skate over this like it's not an important distinction. It was already said -- bringing a gun into a store = choice. Sexual orientation = not a choice.

QUOTE (Jake @ Feb 25, 2014 -> 09:20 AM) I'm interested in how it all can work out. Since Reagan, we've used military spending as stimulus. It will be interesting to see how much we can remove from the defense budget without putting people out of work. That's definitely a difficult question, and one I'm not sure has a good answer.
-
Surprised there hasn't been any talk of the defense budget cuts yet. I've been wanting the military budget slashed for years. Admittedly, I don't much about the proposal beyond cutting the Army to pre-WWII levels (though not quite that low, IIRC). However, I'm totally down with a smaller military, which seems like the end result here.
