  1. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 02:33 PM) I wasn't trying to compare the programs. Shaka doesn't strike me as a guy that wants to lead a big time program like that. Illinois would have been a good fit because it's a 2nd tier program where you can still win consistently. UCLA your expectations are apparently more than an NC game appearance, a few final fours and a bunch of conference titles. While all this may be true, haven't there been strong whispers of NCAA violations as well as Howland generally being a jerk to players/administration?
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 24, 2013 -> 10:57 PM) Great point about Egwu. Most of Miami's big guys are 22-24 years old and Egwu battled the hell out of them and really stepped up. Good to see for the future. I was very impressed with Egwu tonight. Hustling and battling is really the only way to describe it.
  3. Let's gooo FGCU! Apparently Ft. Myers is renowned for its drugs. The two people I knew who lived there say they didn't know what "doing drugs" really meant until moving there. Don't even wanna know.
  4. Take advantage, Illini fans! One of the few days I'm pulling for the boys in orange.
  5. Temple totally deserves to win this game. We've played terribly all around. Any time we want to remember how to play basketball, I'll be ready.
  6. Congrats! That's awesome. Chalk another one up for Team Soxtalk.
  7. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 21, 2013 -> 10:53 PM) Haith needs to be fired badly. Mark Titus ‏@clubtrillion 31m I'm sure Haith's a good guy, so I do feel bad for picking on him. Hopefully he'll turn Northwestern around & put all of this behind him.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 21, 2013 -> 08:27 PM) Hilarious. Funny enough not the first time this has happened. Such a small world. Really, twice off this board? Fascinating.
  9. I don't understand why the NCAA doesn't do a 3rd place game on the day after the Final Four games. Seems like easy money.
  10. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 21, 2013 -> 08:59 AM) Wow, ND can't even win St. Joe county? Would you expect Monroe County to be pulling for Indiana on a football map?
  11. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 08:07 PM) I would still guess at least one of those guys (Goodwin, Poythress or Cauley-Stein) will go. Most guys say they're staying/will evaluate their options right after the game. Then they do real research and Cal always advises them to go pro if they're a 1st rounder (which all of those guys are). Given their history, the odds of Kentucky still having like 12 rotation players is pretty slim. I do find that current situation pretty fascinating though. It is fascinating. I think two of the three will end up leaving.
  12. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 06:04 PM) Not sure what you mean. Crean almost always plays zone on out of bounds plays, to the point he gets criticized for it. I'm guessing he was referring to a certain time when Tyler Griffey was able to take an uncontested layup at the end of a game....
  13. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 01:56 PM) Goodwin, Poythress and Cauley-Stein are all returning. They are bringing in 6 McDonald's All-Americans. And they also have Wiltjer and Harrow going to be just juniors. These kids are going to want to play right away, and the returnees are not going to want to lose PT to the new kids. I can not believe that that team will be able to coexist amongst itself Has this been confirmed?
  14. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 09:23 AM) IMO what these chicks did, while abhorrent, should never the less be protected. Generally the rule of law is that unless the speech is going to lead to immediate action it's protected. The victim might have had a case for assault if she really felt threatened by it, but that requires some level of immediacy. I can't threaten you and then 2 weeks later claim that I was assaulted. They were threats over Facebook and Twitter. People have said worse things. They're physically not anywhere near each other so that immediacy concern is gone. Arresting these girls is a bit much IMO. Perhaps the school could have suspended them. That seems more appropriate. But how could it be protected speech and still have the school suspend them for it? Seems like there's a disconnect there. EDIT: Though, I know there are limits on what you can say in school, if that's what you were going under. Might be covered by Morse v. Frederick (that "Bong Hits 4 Jesus" case out of a Alaska from a few years ago).

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 08:50 AM) Yeah one of the best episodes of Justified in the entire series. Definitely. Circling the wagons was awesome. Gutterson is a stone cold motherf***er.
  16. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 11:07 AM) All I know is a good friend of mine got all hot and bothered when she got a glimpse on Will's chest tattoo on game. The jersey covers it up and she's been dying to get a better look. She calls him her future ex-husband. That's the only time I've ever seen the tattoo. The camera caught him bending forward lining up on the FT lane. Yeah he had a tattoo on his chest last year; I think it got a little bigger this year. There might have been an interview where he said what it was, but I can't remember
  17. IU will make it to the Final Four because Cosmo thinks Will Sheehey is one of the hottest guys of March Madness.
  18. QUOTE (SnB @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 07:57 PM) Then you wouldn't be filling out multiple brackets.... The gut leads me different places with each bracket
  19. Indiana Michigan St Ohio St Kansas Indiana over Ohio St 83-70 I'm sure I'll do a few more brackets, where I'll likely have Louisville or Kansas winning it. I also didn't have any 5 seeds losing...in fact I had all 5 seeds in the sweet 16. Going against history there. When I fill out the bracket, I follow my gut modified with what I know of the matchups. Bracket came out a little weird this year, but where the gut leads, I follow!
  20. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 03:39 PM) I usually do a bracket, but over the years it's become old, and most people are usually out of it by the 2nd weekend if it's a big pool. In addition to a normal pool, I now run an auction with 5-6 people. You purchase teams and get paid off based on how far they advance in the tournament. Everyone starts with the same amount of money to spend so it's all even and you have to spend wisely. This actually sounds really neat. I'd like to try that next year.

    2013 TV Thread

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 17, 2013 -> 08:59 PM) Damn, Shameless. Saw it coming but still made me jump. Yeah, you could tell that was coming. What a f***ed up show. But man do I love it.
  22. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 17, 2013 -> 10:01 PM) Love me some Mike Muscala and not a fan of either of those higher seeds, sets up nice for either Bucknell or Davidson to be the Cinderella into the 2nd weekend. Ya I have Minny too, forgot to put that on here. I'm sure that'll be a trendy pick. Would have actually taken the Gophers even if Adams didn't go for that block over the weekend. Roseville native! They have a solid mall.
  23. Watched 21 Jump Street last night. Pretty funny. Really dug the cameo by the original duo. The one guy pulled off his disguise and I thought, "Oh wait a minute, that's Johnny Depp." That means I saw three movies in the past week (Chasing Amy, Mississippi Burning and 21 Jump Street) for the first time. That's a lot for me.
  24. Not too terrible overall, but that's a scary 8/9 matchup for Indiana.
  25. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Mar 17, 2013 -> 02:54 PM) While the articles I read didn't say it, I hope they at least have to register as sex offenders so that follows them around forever. You have 18 year old guys who had sex with their 17 year old girlfriend stuck on that list forever, it would seem that these two guys deserve to be there as well. One of the articles I read said they had to register as "juvenile sex offenders." I'm not sure if that means they have only register as sex offenders until they are 21, or if they register for the rest of their lives a sex offenders who committed their crimes as juveniles.
