QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 26, 2013 -> 01:47 PM) Bonus points for anyone who understands what #aces means. Play all of them Saturday. I'll confess my inferiority. What's aces mean? -
QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 25, 2013 -> 10:08 AM) I really hope you poop your pants. Maybe you'll both get your wish!
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 24, 2013 -> 04:02 PM) I'm having so much fun teaching these idiots trying to buy my house about negotiating, contracts, and real estate law... This has made my day, in the middle of a really s***ty week overall. Care to elaborate?

Maurice Creek to transfer. He has his undergrad degree and can play right away. Heard he wants to be closer to home (Maryland) as he starts his family.

Duke hit on the reason for no war crimes -- we won. Well, we didn't "win" Vietnam but it's not like there was going to be a faction strong enough to impose sanctions on the U.S. I still don't think dropping the bomb on Hiroshima was a patently wrong decision.

Uh, was it just me, or did he just say, "just inside and a little high" on a pitch that landed before the plate?

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 18, 2013 -> 11:36 AM) We can stay in my place til about Memorial Day...so that means we have to get an offer accepted like yesterday if we are going to get something closed by then... We put in an offer in on something just now...it is a home we saw the first day we went out looking...neither of us particularly care for the style of the home, but it is in a great neighborhood, has a great yard, a great pool, etc...we'd have to knock a bunch of walls down and open it up quite a bit, but if we got it for the right price, it would be doable. And I think if we did open it up a lot and do some nice things with the decor, it would be worth quite a bit more...it is a lot of house on a big lot in a great area with a pool...those homes usually do well in our market. Sounds like a great opportunity.

What the f*** is going on in the world.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 18, 2013 -> 09:44 AM) Link You've gotta be s***ting me. All those places within a half mile?
-
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 09:09 PM) Here exact words were "farmteam grew up there and look how he ended up, we're not doing that with our kids" Well if she doesn't want her kids moving to Minneapolis, she has a point.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 09:06 PM) This is what I constantly tell people. I dont even know who is against marijuana anymore. No one pretty much. Even my otherwise traditional suburban mom thinks it should be legal.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 06:01 PM) Right? If there was any city/state that needed the inflated 40 percent taxes on a product its illinois and Chicago. Definitely. Like Badger said, it's finally on the road to legalization. From the stone age to the stoned age, eh?

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 02:36 PM) Its so weird because my father took the train downtown for 30 years and it just started to get that way in the last 10-15. Not only businesses but condos and townhouses. One of my favorite areas to put on my future radar is Elmhurst, I love that downtown area and the housing surrounding it. Of course my Oak Park based wife still thinks thats the boonies. It's funny. Western suburbs are so unfamiliar to me. I lived 20-30 minutes north of downtown for 18 years (plus the summers until I was 22) and know the northern suburbs like the back of my hand. But the western suburbs? Nooo idea. ...I hope that didn't make me sound like a spoiled New Trier kid. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 12:32 PM) For whatever reason she's against northern suburbs. Hey now, don't hate!
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 16, 2013 -> 09:43 AM) Well, my house is under contract...there is no turning back now... Still waiting on the offer to the senile old lady whose house we are trying to buy...hoping to hear today...can't believe my fate lies in her hands... Oh man, those are some pretty chapped, wrinkly and calloused hands to be in if she's a senile old lady.

Official Recruiting Thread II

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 12:23 PM) Where is he going? MAC bound? Well, he's from Louisville and was originally committed to Bradley before Jim Les was fired a few years ago. Maybe back to the MVC? He could still play a lot or even start in a power conference if he wants, though. Maybe not an elite team, but a good one. Like the caliber of this year's Minnesota team. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 04:07 PM) Anthony Johnson leaving Purdue Isn't that the 2nd or 3rd transfer?
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 14, 2013 -> 12:06 PM) You mean a team had a rainout in april and moved the game to august? They moved a game from a time when people are still in school to the middle of the summer when it's actually a great time to go to a game? Never! I think technically it was a snow-out. Jebus I'm ready for this weather to be over.

This is neat. Explanation and time-lapse video of how they change from ice to hardwood at the United Center. -
Agreed on Shameless seeming like a series finale. Once the bodyguard showed up to give Fiona the money, Jimmy had to be dead. I don't mind though, his character had gotten really annoying this season. I'm not worried about losing characters. They'll have a way to keep them involved, no doubt. I really, really liked the ending between Mickey and Ian.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 08:10 AM) And the Islanders would make the playoffs! -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 7, 2013 -> 12:46 PM) He's such a douchebag. Seconded. -
Russ, I'd like to lodge a complaint. A van that loudly declared it belongs to your company was driving waaaaay too slow in the far left lane on 35W on my way to the gym this morning. I expect this matter to be dealt with quickly and severely!

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 5, 2013 -> 04:27 PM) I know McGary has said he's coming back, but I just saw he's the #2 scorer and #1 rebounder left in the final four. Is that correct? He's probably playing himself into a top 10 pick. I know last summer some places had him as a top 5-10 pick this year. Then he got off to a slow start and disappeared from draft boards. Given how deep next year's class is, maybe he will come out. But I think he'd be better served sticking around a year to prove he can do for a whole year what he's done in the tournament. As for whether your starts are correct...I'm assuming that he's the #2 scorer and #1 rebounder for the tournament (and not the season) that's left. That's plausible.
