QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 06:04 AM) Great finale for Justified last night. Boyd's circumstances set up some interesting possibilities for next season. Definitely. I still haven't watched the first two seasons -- are these Paxton and Mooney characters from back then, or are they new?

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 09:03 PM) Is that the Piven show? What channel. Justified starting.... I know it's the Piven show, not sure on the channel. BBC maybe?
  3. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 08:59 PM) s***, now I sound like an IU fan years ago Come on over the dark side, brother.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 05:10 PM) You should check out all the after shows that lolla provides then. I'm annoyed that lolla was so bad about selling out...but am still glad it's here. What do you mean, exactly? I haven't really followed it for a while. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 03:43 PM) There is just a different feeling, its probably the drugs, but there is definitely something to an outdoor concert. There's a good chance. I've never been to lolla, but if it's like what I hear, I'm assuming you could get a decent secondhand/contact high just standing around. Sorry though, I don't think you can feel the affects of molly secondhand.
  5. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 08:18 PM) IMO, this was kept quiet until they had the B1G deal signed. Quite possible. I don't think this is really that big of a deal for the B1G, but Delany isn't going to be happy.
  6. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 08:12 PM) This may be more towards the Illini fans here, but thought Groce's speech starting at around the 21:50 mark was pretty great. Also a pretty crazy look into the emotions after a Tourney loss. Again, starts around the 21:50 mark. That was pretty great stuff, thanks for sharing.
  7. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 05:15 PM) And somehow the AD didn't fire him after watching that stuff. Have fun being fired with him. The AD's definitely gone, but hell, if I were the president right now I'd be worried. He saw the video in the fall too. When the governor is pissed, you have problems.
  8. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 01:46 PM) Point is they weren't a streaming internet service with their OWN television shows. They are now. I'm still interested to see how Netflix actually works out as a content provider. Too early to tell. It seems inevitable that it will all just be delivered over the internet at some point the future. Maybe when fiber networks are more common?!
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 01:39 PM) They were DVDs. I remember handing out the subscription free trials when I worked at Media Play, which was in 1999. I guess that makes sense, now that I think about it. My family first got a DVD player in 2001, and we weren't exactly early adopters. Hopefully in a decade I'll be able to say I got my first blu ray player in 2013. They're only like $60 now, from what I've seen.
  10. It was so brutal. I wonder which lucky Chicagoland 7th grader made it.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 01:28 PM) Yeah, I signed up for Netflix back when it first came out...which, I think was like 1997 or something... Get your VHS tapes in the mail? I hope they were still offering betamax....
  12. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 08:43 AM) I'm sick of Lolla sucking all the oxygen out of the room. I'd rather go see a handful of these bands at some other venue than have to pay a s***load of money to go see them outdoors. ...but can't you go do that at all the non-Lolla shows these bands play every year? I'm with you though. I know it's just a matter of personal preference, but mine is to see bands in regular concert venues, not outdoors.
  13. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 09:37 AM) It almost sucks for him that FGCU made it further in the tournament. I wonder if UCLA would have called him instead of Alford. USC is not a good basketball school. Eh, he's only been at FGCU for two years...jumping to USC seems plenty big...
  14. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 07:06 PM) For tv, I generally don't see a quality difference in Comcast, Dish/Dtv or AT&Ts offering. For a while there Comcasts dvrs were terrible, slow, etc, but their newer ones are a loooot better. Dtv still has slightly better dvrs, but not by much anymore. There are pluses and minuses to all of them, but when it comes to cost, on contract you are looking at similar prices. Where Comcast has its advantage is that their Internet kicks ass, regardless of what people claim. I hated the DVR I had with Comcast, but I like the one I have with DirecTV now. Comcast does have great internet, but their customer service is just so terrible (and I really, really hated that DVR). I also like DirecTV's guide better.
  15. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 10:20 AM) Also, Majestic Apparel completely hooked all of us up today. I'm so lucky. That's pretty flippin' sweet. Looks like you'll be having a good year!
  16. I have a new obsession, and its name is the 4ontheFloor.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 01:58 PM) No, no, no, no. Frank's character may be boring, but the show won't be boring if one character stops being crazy. They could find a way to make Frank interesting still, I'd guess. But I would be surprised if he actually does have to quit drinking. Seems...unlikely. I don't see how Jimmy is getting off that boat. The first season he was one of my favorite characters, now he's a selfish prick. Well, he was always a selfish prick, but he used to be a likable selfish prick. Agreed with B>W though, the bodyguard is too awesome of a character to just have disappear from the show. Don't see how he would stay without Jimmy, though.
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 31, 2013 -> 05:19 PM) Saw him down and the reactions of players. Flipped channel to avoid replays. I made the mistake of looking for the replay online after I had missed it live. My my that was ugly.
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 31, 2013 -> 05:20 PM) Give ita rest? That was literally my only post on that whole situation. Plus it was a Gottlieb tweet I copied. Sorry if it was just a Gottlieb tweet; otherwise, just seemed like a cheap shot after that whole dust-up caused several pages of discussion here a few weeks ago.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 31, 2013 -> 05:13 PM) You will know why we talk about it so much after you watch it. I held out until the first week of December. I finished watching all 20 episodes and two weeks, couldn't stop watching. I've seen the first two episodes. I liked them. Just haven't found the time to sit down and watch them all...and I have way too much to do the next two weeks, so I'm worried if I start now that work won't get done

Oh no. I'm going to have to sift through all the GoT talk now to get to reach the Justified and Shameless discussion! Now that I have HBO GO I should probably remedy this problem by watching the first two seasons.
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 31, 2013 -> 03:27 PM) Jeff Meyer coaching in Atlanta. Tom Cream watching from couch. Karma. Dude give it a rest. I said it then and I'll say it again -- Crean was a moron for confronting Meyer like that after the game. Doesn't matter what provoked it. Not the time or place. But if you think it was unprovoked, or if Meyer's hands are clean in all this....
  23. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Mar 31, 2013 -> 03:26 PM) Nice win by Michigan, saving some face for the Big Ten. Indeed.
  24. QUOTE (Reddy @ Mar 31, 2013 -> 08:11 AM) Haha well yeah that's the one way to look at it. Lol The other way is that it allows them to keep producing and selling GMO foods even if a lawsuit regarding their safety is brought to the table. How well would that fare in the pharamcuetical world? Here, just read: http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/mpa.asp That'll clear up why this is no bueno. Takes away the courts power which is a slippery slope and a bad precedent. But in this instance, crops and pharmaceuticals aren't remotely analogous.... I'm not saying it's awesome or necessary that this law was inserted in there at the last second. Just that, if this is a real problem (an absurd portion of producers using the same product all of a sudden having to stop using that product), then it's something that needs to be addressed. Probably not the best way to do it, but let's see what all of the options are before going off on it.
  25. I thought the issue was that whatever this product that could be litigated over is used by some absurd portion of agribusiness. So if there were an injunction that would prevent the product's use, that would seriously screw up the nation's food supply. At least that's how I took the way the GMO supporters argued it. If that's the case, then that is a legitimate problem that needs to be considered.
