  1. Emphatic YES!!!!! The dude is wound tighter than a drum. If anybody got a chance to see him up close and personal in ST...he looked that way then too. He has ZERO confidence right now.
  2. QUOTE (BearSox @ May 24, 2009 -> 02:38 PM) I'm not even so sure how much of the game he actually calls (I think most of it comes from the dugout). If that's the case somebody should be held accountable for Bobby just pumping fastball after fastball up there in the 9th...
  3. you can mix in the hammer anytime you want AJ...
  4. Probably the nicest bunt i've ever seen out of this team by BA...damn.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2009 -> 12:45 PM) I wonder if Fields will be on a plane going west or going east after today's game. They'll probably give him a reprise and take him west. He HAS to be on a short leash though. My god he's awful right now...
  6. I know it'd be rushing him...but there's no way on earth Gordon Beckham could have nearly as many poor at bats as Josh Fields. I'm so sick of this guy...
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 23, 2009 -> 02:35 AM) And Mike Leake with a sick performance against UCLA last night (9 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 0 BB 12 SO). 2nd consecutive CG shutout. 2nd consecutive 12K game. Now 14-1 on the year. The dude just wins.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 21, 2009 -> 11:07 PM) We have beyond a shadow of a doubt the worst 3rd base situation in baseball. Might even be worse than the blackhole that is CF. That's why I say just stick Nix over there for a week or so and see what happens. Josh is absolutely clueless right now...and he looks wound tighter than a drum. Bet....meh. Go with Nix already.
  9. The kid just flat out WINS. At times you don't see how he's always so dominant...but he has consistently done for 3 years at ASU in a pretty tough conference. He's actually a pretty good hitter too and finds the field for Murphy when he's not pitching sometimes. But I think Murphy is saving him now that Spence went down. I'd take him on my team ANY day. Reminds me a bit of Bronson Arroyo.
  10. Let's get this thing on tract and string a few together. I'm at the point where I'll absolutely puke if I see Fields slotted in the 2-hole anymore also. Sit his ass and give Nix some PT.
  11. Is this the game with the incredible Jerry Dybzinski baserunning brain fart?
  12. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ May 18, 2009 -> 01:06 PM) Why are you jinxing him? Why? Edit: He has been crazy lucky/clutch with that bad K:BB ratio. seriously...
  13. QUOTE (T R U @ May 14, 2009 -> 09:11 PM) We shoulda got Willy Taveras.. You mean the leadoff guy with the .322 avg....382 OBP and 10 stolen bases?...that Willy Traveras?
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 12, 2009 -> 02:16 PM) If, hypothetically, Anderson fails when he gets benched behind Wise for the next 2/3 of the season, and D2: the Mighty Danks performs well at AA, any chance we'd see him at the end of this year/early next year in the real show? Or is he just too raw still? I personally think he's still too raw...talented...but raw. He's still the future in CF. Loved watching him play in the fall league...probably my fav to watch. He took it very personal too when he had a crap game out too. Nice humble kid so he seemed...

  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 13, 2009 -> 07:49 PM) I have a feeling we might see Jon G back on this team within the next few months... I kinda doubt it...but he shoulda been here anyway...
  17. Maybe this was a subtle message to Walker as well...
  18. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 12, 2009 -> 10:54 PM) Do you honestly believe that Walker is in the cage everyday teaching Lillibridge a long, loopy uppercut swing? You don't think he's telling him to focus on a quick, level swing and keeping the ball out of the air? Walker's inability to get through to a young hitter with a terrible approach is disappointing but I'm not about to dump the blame on him for the failures of a seemingly untalented hitter who really hasn't done anything exceptional at the plate since high A ball 3 years ago. Personally, I'm s***-canning Walker because I believe a new voice could be needed to get through to some of these young hitters. I'm sure Walker has a fine philosophy on hitting but I'm not convinced he's much of a teacher. I'm not saying Lillibridge isn't at fault too...because obviously when you get to this level you were coachable at some point...he didn't get here on raw talent alone. So it is probably a little of both. For 3 years in a row people have been calling for Walkers head. He obviously just can't get through to anybody...
  19. Maybe if we had a hitting coach who actually preached to him to line-drive stroke instead of a puny Buck-O-five pounder with a big loopy uppercut hitting fly balls might have helped.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2009 -> 08:27 PM) If he goes 0-5 again, can we lock this? Yes...as should the people who picked Josh Fields as a breakout player this year be called out. Just kidding but....GHEESH!!! He needs to sit his ass for a while. And I still can't even look at the guy without seeing Jack from Will and Grace.
