if people plan on this team contending by 2020...I don't think it's a great idea to trade Abreu. He's shown zero signs of even remotely slowing down. Unless it's an overwhelming offer...no thanks. He's by far the most productive player this team has. Moncada will be there soon. Eloy will be as well. Other than that...what are you hanging your hat on?

I'd love to have Girardi manage this team...but I don't think he'll be available when the Sox finally make a move from Ricky. McEwing....I don't know...he might not be around either. I think if the Sox don't pick him he'll move on. I think the thing with Vizquel is the a. overall knowledge of the game as a player/coach b. the relationship with the Latino players the Sox seem to have an abundance of. Other than that...who knows. I have know idea how he'd handle a pitching staff either.

Did anybody really see this coming with Fry? He's been phenomenal so far...just nasty. Rondon has been a nice surprise too...but agree with Hogan above that Avilan has been a major disappointment. I'm begging for a miracle that Soria heats up once the weather does and has a stretch the next month and a half that makes him look at least moderately attractive for some team.

Madrigal is head and shoulders over any prep hitter in this draft. I was fortunate enough to get to see Dustin Pedroia's entire ASU career out here where he started every game since his freshman year...sang his praises at draft time to mostly getting crapped on that he was too small, too slow, etc... That said...I haven't gotten to see Madrigal as much...but have followed him since his frosh season and I honestly think his bat is ever bit as good as Pedroia's was (and he was a career .387 hitter). The ONLY hesitation I have about Madrigal is we already have Moncada at 2B...so it comes down to do you play Madrigal at SS just to have his bat? I think his bat is that good that I take that chance...

Madrigal is the best pure hitter I've seen come out of college in quite some time. Yeah...I'd play him at SS. Not sure how well that'll work out...but from a hitting perspective...there's none better. I've been high on this kid for the past 3 years.

I really wasn't aware of that...but tell ya what...that's not good on his shoulder. If he shoots left handed (which I assume)...if he's shooting birds...or even targets/skeet with a .12 gauge shotgun...that's tends to pound your shoulder pretty good. I had a saiga12 a few years back...that after I put about 36 shells thru it...left a massive bruise on my shoulder. Thing hurt for over a week lol. Course i'm not sure what he's shooting...but I'd figure either .12 gauge or 308...both will pound you.

well...he's been hitting the ball more than anybody else on this team right now. I'd say he has plenty of value. I'd think a LH hitter that's drilled over 109 dingers the last 3 seasons between AA and AAA and is proving it so far at this level probably has some value. But yeah...he needs to sustain it.
