  2. Americans don't have the stomach for a real libertarian's economic policy
  3. Romney still hasn't fixed that strange look he always has on his face while he stumps
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 11:37 PM) Any estimation as to when Obama will speak? Romney has not yet conceded
  5. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 11:17 PM) I actually don't know...I wonder if anyone here could shed some light on this. Personally, I think ALL drugs should be completely legalized. Enough of this black market s*** that kills more people than the drugs do. I am hesitant to do that...and while I don't think weed is a "gateway drug," I have to think that legalizing it might placate folks enough to not seek illegal drugs in as high of numbers
  6. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 10:37 PM) Shut up with the Nate Silver s***, guys, seriously. Practically everyone witha brain predicted Obama. Stop pretending this guy is smarter than everyone else that said the same exact thing. Unfortunately, a lot of people tried to claim that all of the polling was in the tank for Obama (because for some reason they'd prefer that to being accurate). Many folks believed them. This board...not really -- you guys are smart, I'd imagine the Cubs message boards were the ones thinking Romney would get 300 electoral votes. I post on a HS Baseball Recruitment message board and they thought Romney would win 55% of the electoral vote. Lots of people are standing in echo chambers and never accept facts. This election is one more step towards the acceptance of facts.
  7. FOX pundits not standing by their own decision desk
  8. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 5, 2012 -> 03:55 PM) Lee DeWyze was at the Karaokee bar I was at Friday. Not sure how I feel about that. lmao
  9. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 02:19 PM) Other writers have alluded to it, but I don't worry about relapse, I worry about the toll those drugs have taken on his body. That contract, even at 5 years in length, could turn Alfonso Soriano-esque very quickly. I have to think all that time not playing much baseball probably extends his career a bit
  10. FOX calls PA for BO
  11. Off to the relationship thread we go
  12. QUOTE (That funky motion @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 07:48 PM) I enjoy teaching my daughter and I even took her to vote with me. I'm amazed on how much her 2nd grade teacher has taught her about this election. When I was that age my grade school teachers unabashedly preached partisan politics to us. I had been thoroughly convinced that Al Gore was the anti-christ
  13. QUOTE (That funky motion @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 07:26 PM) We have a winner. My wife is driving me nuts. I enjoy teaching these things to my girlfriend. Then again, I'm going into higher ed. and politics
  14. ss2k5 is no dumb cookie
  15. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 06:48 PM) I've got only 3 in me. This whole 12 pack will probably be gone by the end of this. Nervous drinking. I picked up another Samuel Adams Winter Classics 12pk. Good stuff and I won't get bored as I drink my sorrows/happiness away
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 06:33 PM) If O wins Florida and Ohio, is it pretty much over? I wanna watch a movie or something else. It paves the way for a blowout, I'd say
  17. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 06:30 PM) Ohio Exit Poll: Obama - 50.68% Romney - 47.32% That's great news. This may indeed be an early night.
  18. 4 drinks in. My night has just begun
  19. I haven't reviewed the research as far as what makes the campaigners believe saying they're going to win does, but I assume there's something promising. So far in exit polling, it appears that the electorate has the same amount of youth vote as '08 as well as several other important indicators. 73% white is another promising one, same portion as '08. 10% latino so far this year compared to 9% last time around. Incomplete data though so far, of course.
  20. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 04:45 PM) Yeah but his campaign strategist will want another job and if Im hiring Id say that its a terrible idea to say you are going to win big. I personally believe that people are more likely to vote when they think its close and believe that there vote is the difference between a loss and a win. If I think my guy is going to win no matter what, why sit in line? If they are knowingly lying publicly, Mitt could just tell the next guy running for election that these guys were giving him good numbers secretly.
  21. There are several reports coming from VA saying that turnout resembles 2008 if not greater, at least in terms of sheer numbers. I suppose we won't know for sure until the numbers come out though.
  22. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 01:19 PM) America's voting system is a disgrace States' rights!!!!!!! QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 03:23 PM) I'm sure its an exit poll question referring to their undecided status prior to actually voting. So far those undecideds have decided 50% each way. I don't believe they can release exit polling information yet. QUOTE (IowanSoxFan @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 04:06 PM) Will be voting for Gary Johnson soon. I'm hoping he gets about 3%. That would be a death blow for Romney, methinks
  23. lol, wish I could see the hat
  24. FOX won't quit hammering how the methodology of the polls is off Like the polling firms wouldn't be aware of such basic, glaring weaknesses?
