  1. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 07:34 PM) Anderson looks terrible much of the time at the plate. So did Crede when he first came up. Anderson needs big league at bats, and now is the perfect time to give him the playing time. Until I read this post, I had forgotten the years of Crede hate I had. He really struggled at the plate at the beginning of his career, but his defense earned him a lot of extra chances. Even in 2005, his average really wasn't too good and the rest of his numbers weren't eyepopping but since we were winning games it wasn't questioned much. He was a key offensive player in the ALCS and WS though. Nonetheless, once can draw some parallels between BA and Crede although it is of note that BA was not the caliber of run producer that Joe was in the minors. Also, I thought perhaps we didn't bring Owens up since Paulie would be back relatively soon and we didn't want to waste one of his options. That's just a guess on my part though, I don't know how many options he has or anything like that.

    Tattoo ideas

Well I'm sure he watched sports but his main passion was motorcycles, he made custom choppers and harleys for a shop in Florida. He was always a good athlete but recreational drug use slowed a lot of things down in his life. The hell of it was he had just gotten clean before he died in a car accident. He was a big fan of Sublime (a band), but I'm not sure how that could be incorporated into a tat. One thing that I'm not sure how to work into a tattoo but always thought was cool was when he was interviewed as a high school football player and they asked him his future aspiration : "Ride forever." He also had many tats, but so many that I'm not too familiar with any of them they just kind of all blended together for me lol.

    Tattoo ideas

I'm thinking of getting a tattoo in honor of my deceased brother. My deceased brother was an avid motorcyclist, so I have thought of incorporating that into the tat but I'm not sure. My other brother had an angel riding a motorcycle put on his right shoulder, but I'm not sure that I want something that large. Any ideas?

  5. QUOTE (JFields27 @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 09:00 PM) yeah whats your point? not be an ass but just cuz i said i didnt know he was that old doesnt mean i dont know when his book came out .. sorry i didnt keep up with his age I don't think his comment was intended to be in the tone you're making it out to be. I think he meant it just as an FYI, not trying to make you look bad.
  6. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 31, 2008 -> 10:18 PM) Shields "stuff" is quite mediocre. A solid fastball and a really good change-up. We should have dropped 7 or 8 on his ass. That's what every team he shuts down says after the game.

    Richar?

    Whats the scoop on Danny?
  8. QUOTE (watchtower41 @ May 19, 2008 -> 03:23 PM) I live 4 blocks away from Wrigley Field. Most would say I am confused, but obviously a very nice and lively place to live in town. It certainly makes for some interesting looks when I walk to the Addison Red Line stop everyday completely decked out for Sox games, but believe it or not the only time any Cubbie fan has actually talked "s***" to me was before Game 1 of the WS. The drunken idioit blurred that Clemens would rock our ass that night, nobody ever claimed the Cubs faitful to have any psychic ability... Wasn't there something about Clemens's dying mother making some kind of predictions before the world series?
  9. QUOTE (farmteam @ May 5, 2008 -> 09:49 PM) Yeah, I've always liked Ryan Reynolds, even if I do mix up him and Dane Cook half the time (I spent all of Good Luck Chuck thinking it was Reynolds). I'm glad I'm not the only one to do that.
  10. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 08:41 PM) oh this is going to get interesting. I refrain from comment I thought this might be a good talking point.
  11. My first class of my school day is Spanish. When we say the pledge of allegiance at the beginning of the school day, our teacher requires us to recite it in spanish over the english for a grade. Despite it being for a grade, I feel kind of funny doing that so I just say it in English. Do you think it's wrong to not say the pledge in English? Or to say it in Spanish right over the top of the English pledge?
  12. What am I missing here? Doesn't he always bat third?
  13. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 04:50 PM) LOL "look at frickin Michaels out there" -DJ 3/31/08 Oh man I logged on just to quote DJ there, you beat me to it.
  14. For Love of the Game anyone?
  15. For some reason, Sox players generally never grab the spotlight with non-sox fans. A notable exception of course would be Frank Thomas, who I think was liked by a lot of a non-sox fans. I think if Buehrle played for the Yanks, he'd be a well-liked and extremely well known baseball figure.
  16. If the pink hockey puck thing is in there, or any other foreign object, I try to annihilate it with my stream. Otherwise I just let 'er rip and look forward so no one suspects me of looking at their...stuff.

    Tattoos

I always planned to never get any tats, but my brother died a few months ago and I think I'm going to get one to commemorate him. He had his fair share of tats, and my other brother already got a really awesome one. On his arm is a biker with wings (like an angel, but not so girly) on his Harley (my deceased brother had a lifelong passion for motorcycles) and theres a backdrop of sky and road that the rider would presumably be riding into. I'll try to get a picture sometime. I may get a duplicate of that, I'm not sure.
  18. If you like this, you should really check out the adventures of Tek Jansen.

    Dog Suggestions?

It's a little too big, but I have a boxer and love it. Mine is quite playful, but great around kids once he was no longer a puppy. Given proper exercise (like what you plan on doing) will keep rough-housing in check. They are very loving and very loyal to their masters, albeit a bit stubborn at times. They can seem kind of ugly at first, but they really are adorable dogs. You would have to decide if one suits your lifestyle, but if you get one you will certainly fall in love.
  20. So I've been downloading movies off the internet, and recently I've came across a string of full length movies that are being played in fast motion. I'm led to believe that this is a common practice, but I don't know how to get the actual watchable video out of it. Any suggestions?
  21. My license plate is NO HIT 2. My number, and then of course what I'm always throwing. I remember that NO HITTA is also available. Hopefully that applies to the Sox in 08
  22. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Nov 29, 2007 -> 05:53 PM) Yep...Rowand would be great for the Sox...but not for over $10 mil a year. Sorry A-Row, but hustle and one awesome year at the plate doesn't make you an elite player. Unfortunately, I think when the Aaron Rowands of the world get $10+ million per, it isnt a talent evaluation error. It's just the new price for that caliber of player.
  23. People around here call it bags.
  24. In a perfect world, he'd be our bench coach.
