  1. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 20, 2005 -> 09:15 AM) NUKE must have stolen AddisonStSox's account. He's been at the house all day. We got into the Pabst a little too early.
  2. Seldom do I wish a team to "eat s***." However, this is a rare exception. EAT s*** YOU CELL PHONE TALKING, PINK SHIRT WEARING, IGNORANT YUPPIE, RONNY WOO-WOO CHEERING, CRY BABY, CURSE BELIEVIN', GOOD FOR NOTHING, GAY PRIDE MARCHING (not that there's anything wrong with that), SHIRT OFF IN THE BLEACHERS, DRUNK LOSERS!!! Oh yes, and as always... F em' up Freddy.
  3. Loved Aaron's comments. Zambrano is a complete circus act. He epitomizes Chicago Cub baseball. Here's a guy with all the talent in the world, but acts like a fourth grader on the mound, stunting his progress and ability to mature as a baseball player. If this guy didn't walk around the mound like a bull about to charge every inning, who knows what heights he could reach with that talent. I'll be on hand and rest assured I'll do my best to give this joker a hard time. If I'm too far away from the action, I'll make sure the fans here about it. Let's hope El Duque pitches a gem and I can at least get some "He Gone!" out of it.
  4. In honor of the latest Star Wars, I felt this ground-breaking video was worth re-visiting. So, when watching Episode III, please remember this film and pay homage. Link
  5. Crazy things happen in this series. It always seem like the poorer team ends up winning the first series. Don't ask me why. I think we'll have our work cut out for us this weekend and we may be looking at avoiding a sweep.
  6. Chavez, a young, glove glove, power hitting, third basemen with an ubber contract would take at least Crede, BMac, and another mid-prospect. Although the possibilites are endless with a player like Chavez on board (i.e. no re-signing PK, moving Fields over to 1B) nothing doing. Case closed.
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 19, 2005 -> 08:54 AM) Sounds about right to me. There isn't too much there to argue. I have issue with only one selection and that is Patterson over Rowand. That's a big mistake. Other than that, I think it's perfect.
  8. QUOTE(Tadahito Iguchi @ May 18, 2005 -> 10:30 PM) Tie goes to the runner.........Is that a correct statement? Yes. ...for what it's worth, I'm an IHSA official.
  9. Speculated. That word speculated rears its ugly head once more. Don't puch much stock into this fellas. IMO, Kenny would be foolish to change up anything right now, even if it means losing either Ben of Jamie. That said, I don't think I'd be shedding any tears with the loss of Mr. Davis.
  10. Happy Happy Birthday Birthday! Hope you two have a good one. :begood
  11. QUOTE(TLAK @ May 17, 2005 -> 04:56 PM) Last time I was there I saw Bobby Douglas play quarterback. No green, this is really true. Did you hike uphill both ways in the snow to get there?
  12. How about this one: I actually go to the University of Illinois and if I were in this kid's shoes, I would have chosen Duke as well. Illinois isn't going anywhere in the next 2-5 years. We had our chance. This year was really the one shot we had in my four years at this univeristy and we couldn't get it done. Over. I was just spoiled rotten my freshman year.
  13. QUOTE(quickman @ May 17, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) I am going saturday, I may have an extra ticket. Hey Terry, if, in fact, you are in the market to get rid of an actual seat ticket, please let me know via PM.
  14. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 17, 2005 -> 09:20 AM) They play rugby in America now? Yeah, but it has nothing on Australian Rules Football, or footy, as you may call it. We also drink Fosters.
  15. Well, this begs the question: They have girls rugby?

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ May 17, 2005 -> 08:48 AM) Maybe throwing him out every God damn day could be the problem. I'm waiting for his arm to fall off. Just my opinion. Eh' I don’t know if I'm on board with that argument. No doubt, he isn't the same pitcher he was two years ago, but I don't think overuse is to blame. His current trend simply solidifies my belief that relievers are completely interchangeable; ride the hot hand and change it up often. Consistency in the bullpen is few and far between.* *Might merit its own thread in the future.
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 17, 2005 -> 08:44 AM) Nope. Never been there, probably never will. Hrumph. I would have expected different from you big guy. It's still one of the most unique baseball atmospheres in all of baseball. Don't get me wrong, that "unique" atmosphere also consists of drunken idiots, herds of yuppie peons, pissing in troughs, etc. but it really is like stepping back into a time machine for some baseball. I hope you aren't the guy that won't go there simply because the Cuddly Ones call it home.
  18. Anyone thinking about "making the pilgrimage to the Promised Land" and buying a SRO ticket for the Cross Town Series? If we have some nice weather, I think I'll be in attendance for at least 2 of the 3 ballgames. Call me old fashion, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with going to an opposing ballpark and talking some smack--we have the best team in baseball and I don't plan on letting my "fellow Chicagoans" forget that. ...perhaps I'm still young and vigorous enough to enjoy these shenanigans.
  19. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ May 17, 2005 -> 08:34 AM) 2 of the last 3, not all 3. You are corrrrrect sir.
  20. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 17, 2005 -> 07:56 AM) I remember a piece from a scout saying "I don't care if he's a criminal, he can throw the absolute s*** out of the ball", which is pretty much what the Sox brass thought when they picked up this guy. Hopefully he makes it, because he's got too much talent to waste. ^^^^^^^ Love it. I don't care what kind of guy he is, if he has any brains in that fat head of his, he'll clean his act up enough to at least get his hands on some Major League scratch. That Ty Cobb guy wasn't a saint, but that seemed to work out well for him.
  21. Looks like Addy will make this first trip to the SouthSide this season. Disturbing trend: the past 3 consecutive games the White Sox have scored 6 runs and lost the ballgame...something to keep an eye on. Go get em' boys! Still an awfully good team in my book, not a whole lot to b**** about.
  22. "Hi, I'd like to thank you all for coming. I'd just like to say this was a really crazy process and it feels very good to have this decision over with. I feel very confident with my decision and I think it is what's best for my family and I. After months and months of deliberation my family and I have decided on Duke University."
  23. QUOTE(valponick @ May 16, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) You don't have to use proper grammar to be an effective journalist. If his using of the word "gotta" is your biggest complaint then that says something in and of itself. This "oughta" be good. I can't wait to hear this one. Please, enlighten me, what does that say in and of itself?
  24. He used the word "gotta" in a printed article. This guy is such a boob. :headshake
