QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) Would that actually be scarier than Ramirez and Ortiz back to back? I dunno. No way! I think Ortiz is much more scary.

This is crazy! :headshake

QUOTE(TimoandAaron @ Nov 24, 2005 -> 11:14 PM) I hate the new NHL. They f***ed up the game with a penalty every 30 seconds. There is no more flow, and no more hitting. If you are a true die haed NHL fan, you would agree with me that it is a lot more boring to watch. I dont care about how many goals are scored. I would rather see a hard fought 1-1 tie, or 1-0 win rather than a 9-1 beatdown. the two line pass is the only rule i felt that they needed to change, othere than that, the NHL was fine. The PM have calm down a lot since the start. I do miss the hitting but that is starting to pick up also. The speed is great though and stickhandling. I am not a Hawks fan,I am a Rangers Fan! They are a lot more fun to watch!

It could also be KW flying under the radar. If a Pierre trade does not work out.it will be Anderson so he says we are going with the kid. He said the same thing at the trade deadline about staying with what we have, then we found out about the KG deal.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 08:40 PM) Holy s***... these two guys on the ice at the same time is one incredible show. I'll take Ovechkin over Crosby. They are fun to watch and so is the new NHL!!!!

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 07:41 AM) Jalen Rose for Stephon Marbury? Isiah just doesnt get it, does he? He is trading for the same model, only 10 years older. I honestly do not understand what Isiah is trying to do in New York, and I really dont think Isiah understands what he is trying to do either. Hit the nail on the head!

I have a hard time believing Gload would be our starting 1st baseman, when they were reluctant to call him up this year. -
I saw them at the park. I dont know if they still keep the gift shop open in the off season. They did have it open for WS merch, while they were on the road.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) I'm glad they let him take it. Me too! I wonder if some other owners would do the same.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) well its a nice statement and all but he said something a few weeks ago about how now its time to get paid. I don't begrudge him either way but you must keep in mind Ozzies-double talk here I agree and I was not happy when he said it. Maybe he was joking!

per rotoworld Rangers signed catcher-infielder Jamie Burke to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training. Burke should get himself a World Series ring after going 0-for-1 in six days with the White Sox in May. He spent far more of 2004 on the club's roster and hit .333/.386/.408 in 120 AB. The Rangers don't figure to carry the 34-year-old as a bench player, but he's a rather handy guy to have stashed away in Triple-A. Nov. 3 - 4:19 pm et They must like our old catchers.

QUOTE(SnB @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 09:58 PM) it seemed like during the first roadtrip of the season, they did a few of the seats around the scout seats and then figured to wait for the end of the season for the rest. I thought the club level were done also.

QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) In the minors it's much better IMO because the guys there don't have 5 million dollar contracts and a gigantic ego to go along with it. They are trying to make a name for themselves and its more exciting to me. You should like collage hockey then. Faster and better hitting! -
Manny wants a trade again....to the ChiSOx

Mets in Manny chase New hope of landing Sox slugger BY ADAM RUBIN DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER Manny Ramirez reportedly wants out of Boston, and that should come as welcome news to the Mets, who have pursued the slugger for at least a year. Ramirez's agent, Greg Genske, has said Ramirez would want no part of the Mets if he were traded. But that won't stop the Mets from pursuing Ramirez, according to someone familiar with the team's thinking. Given Ramirez's oft-changing stances, it seems plausible Ramirez could be convinced by Omar Minaya and Pedro Martinez to join the Mets if the teams could strike a deal. Ramirez, who has three years and $57 million left on his contract, has threatened not to report to spring training if he remains with the Red Sox. Gene Mato, a representative for Ramirez, informed the team on Friday, The Boston Globe reported. "Manny, his representatives and the Red Sox have open lines of communication and will throughout the offseason," Red Sox GM Theo Epstein told the newspaper. "I think we all want whatever is in the club's best interest and Manny's best interest. Those conversations are private and completely confidential. For anyone to reveal the nature of those talks would be ridiculous. We have no comment." Ramirez, with 10 years of major-league service and five as a Red Sox player, can veto any trade. The Mets and Red Sox worked on a three-team deal at the July 31 trading deadline that would have shipped Mike Cameron, Aaron Heilman and Aubrey Huff to the Red Sox, landed Ramirez, Danys Baez and Julio Lugo in Flushing and shipped both teams' top prospects to the Devil Rays. Before Game 4 of the World Series, Red Sox slugger David Ortiz told Boston reporters he did not know what Ramirez intended to do. But Ortiz said the Red Sox would have to add a comparable threat at the plate in order to make a trade work. "If you let a guy like that go, you've got to get a guy like this," Ortiz said, referring to Braves MVP candidate Andruw Jones, who also was in Houston last week. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 06:26 PM) It appeared on tv, and it might not have come through properly, that the crowd wasn't sure about the rendition they heard today. They came across like they didn't know what to do, maybe they didn't know the words. Could not hear a thing!

I think the huge bump in season tickets will make a difference. I'm sure they will do some kind of promo like get season tickets and you will get playoff tickets .

Before the parade ,they had all the speakers that were mounted on the light poles, blasting music. Then the rally starts, not a sound. If you were'nt in the very front, you heard nothing!!!! :banghead -

I have a die hard Cubs fan as a customer.I talk baseball with him and hates the Sox a much as I hate the Cubs. He called me and he sounded like he was going to kill himself. He said congrats and said even if the Cubs win it,it will never be the same because we beat them to it!
