Nick Johnson probably wouldnt cost that much and could split with Konerko at 1B/DH. I believe he is an OBP machine without looking it up.

i like torres, but would rather him not pitch what is sadly probably the most important game left in the season. at least from the fans perspective. hopefully he does well. Go Sox!
