  1. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 25, 2016 -> 11:40 PM) iPhone 8 rumors already swirling. My contract is up but I'm gonna wait out for the 8 rather than get the 7. Anything specifically? I've been considering getting an iPhone, but want to make it worth it. It's either that or the Pixel for me.
  2. I had a Surface Pro 3 and it was probably the best machine I ever owned. I used the main dock which had sliding ends to plug in. Apparently, now they sell a USB Hub style docking station that I'm not a fan of. Anyway, the machine was a beast. I'd write notes in OneNote, use Miracast to send it to any one of our Flatscreens in the conference room, configure switches and routers and at home. It was by far the best tablet I ever owned, and laptop I ever owned. But hey, some say cucumbers taste better pickled. As far as the FireTV, I have a few of the sticks with Kodi on them. Easy to install. I want to try a FireTV though which gives better performance, or perhaps a nVidia Shield.
  3. With any deal, you have to aim for near ready guys who have been nothing more than September call-ups. Anyone who is already up will severely limit the other pieces you get. The White Sox need quantity as much as quality. 3 good near-ready players > 1 great player and mediocre/bad prospects. So if you're aiming for Urias, you're not going to get Bellinger & De Leon to go with him. If you're aiming for Mookie Betts (just an example), you're not getting Moncada and Devers to go with. A 1 for 1 deal does the Sox no favors. They need a minimum of 3 good players in any trade.
  4. You aint getting De Leon, Bellinger and Puig for Eaton. You'd be lucky to get one of Bellinger or De Leon.
  5. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 12, 2016 -> 02:31 AM) No doubt that Verlander had an amazing year last season, his best in a while, but he will be 34 before the seasons starts and still makes $28M a year for through age 36 season, plus a $22M vesting option for age 37 season. Obviously not saying he's a salary dump, but I feel like the Dodgers can hold on to their top pieces if they wanted Verlander. The worst part would be it's one less suitor to drive up prices for Sale and Q for the Red Sox/Yankees/Astros/Rangers, etc. I think the Dodgers are better off with Sale. They are so hell bent on getting a big name pitcher without paying the full cost of one though. That's why they went after Greinke at the deadline. Money be damned to Friedman, he cares about his prospects a little too much though.
  6. It's their only move right now to be honest. What else are they going to do?
  7. It really bothered me the moment it happened when Roberts decided it was more important to get Chapman out of the game, to the point that he would gladly walk inferior hitters. At that point, he lost sight of the task at hand which was getting out of that inning unscathed. After seeing him for a year, pulling guys with no hitters, I'm sorry, but to me it's been obvious he is worse than Mattingly.
  8. I'm ok with Lawrie, but I'm ok with all the pieces individually. As a whole though, they don't fit. So in some respects, I think you're going to have to take steps back to vastly improve another position. Or as others say, plug a hole by creating maybe another one.
  9. QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Oct 3, 2016 -> 02:11 PM) No, Urias is under control for 6 years I believe, a lot more team friendly situation even compared to Q. If I'm being honest with myself, I'd ask what is my biggest need right now if I'm the Dodgers. They probably need a 2 or a 3 right now, which they have the cash to go sign without losing a top prospect. They just need Urias to fill in as the 4th and 5th starter next season and soon enough he'll grow into that 2/3 they're missing. And if I'm rebuilding the Sox, I'd definitely take Urias for Q straight up. Dodgers have an abundance of starters and are going to want to keep the cheaper ones except in ace situations (Kershaw, Sale). Only way the Sox get Urias is dealing Sale.
  10. As someone who follows the Dodgers, you have to realize certain ships have sailed. I know many people were advocating keeping Sale and Q thru this past season instead of trading them last offseason, but you have to realize, the prospects who you want have values that rise and fall. That's why if there's someone out there you want, you have to pounce. From the Dodgers, you are not getting Urias in a trade that doesn't equal Sale. They simply won't do it. He's under team control for a long time and is major league ready and already has showed success. De Leon, who I actually like better than Urias, can be had. For Q, you'd hope for a De Leon/Verdugo or De Leon/Puig swap. Again, for Q, you are not getting Urias. It simply will not happen. As far as Puig, you're not getting him for the same price you could have had him for at the trade deadline unless he does something drastically stupid in the playoffs. The Sox have the players to get him, but I don't think they're going to want to pay the price. Just trying to be realistic and temper expectations.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 25, 2016 -> 07:27 PM) I feel like barfing. We've lost an extraordinary talent well before his prime to what looks like a freak accident. RIP to him and his two buddies. I do too. He was a shining light in America's past time. He was a great player with electric stuff, an electric personality and a great story. RIP to him, his friends and may his family and friends and now future baby find peace.
  12. I thought the matches were good. The endings were horrific though. And Cesaro and Sheamus fought I believe last night in Chicago. So technically, they're going to have an 9th match.
  13. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Sep 11, 2016 -> 08:40 PM) Well, it's September, so far Royal Rumble --> Styles debuts to massive roar. Then goes on to feud with Jericho in some great matches, leading to a solid Wrestlemania match. Jericho, oddly, goes over. Then goes on to fight Reigns for the title in some brilliant matches. Defeats Cena 2 times in 1on1 action and has great overall matches. Now defeats Ambrose to become World Heavyweight Champion. This gurantees he's to headline a few more PPV's before the year is over. Namely Survivor Series. What an incredible year! Hopefully he gets to headline Wrestlemania. Guy deserves it. He could put on a 5 star match with a crash test dummy. He's that good.
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 11, 2016 -> 07:07 PM) The supposed fourth string running back behind much more discussed deondre Washington. I hate fantasy. And it's funny because most people stated it's dumb not to prioritize taking RBs. Just like every year - 3-5 RBs will come out of nowhere to do some damage. It's simply not worth it to take a RB so high when you don't know who's going to be the ones who fall off.
  15. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 11, 2016 -> 03:44 PM) Still should've played Forte, but Yeldon wasn't too bad thanks to that TD. I was totally right about Diggs though. Should've started him over Hurns. I kinda figured Forte would do damn good. He's just so versatile so when running isn't working, he can still be used unlike most RBs. I ended up starting Yeldon and Ware (KC) and did pretty well so far in my draft kings.
  16. I have a full time PPR ESPN league. Then my main FF league decided to just do Draft Kings this year. ESPN Lineup: QB - Cam Newton RB - Ezekiel Elliot RB - Matt Forte WR - AJ Green WR - Emanuel Sanders TE - Travis Kelce FLEX - Latavius Murray DEF - Seahawks K - Stephen Gostkowski Bench: Allen Hurns Jameis Winston Jordan Matthews Antonio Gates Jay Ajayi Alfred Morris Steve Smith Sr Draft Kings Week 1: QB Jameis Winston RB LeSean McCoy RB D. Williams WR Antonio Brown WR Julio Jones Q WR Tajae Sharpe TE C. Gillmore FLEX Dennis Pitta Q DST Titans
  17. If you wanna compete, you can make 1 or 2 dumpster dive moves. The White Sox would be depending on much more than that which is a recipe for disaster. IMO, Abreu, Eaton, Frazier and Anderson are the only good everyday players we have. Anderson has the best chance at being a dynamic player (think Kris Bryant or Anthony Rizzo as examples of dynamic players). Frazier has great power. Abreu is a good overall player but they need a lot more. Dumpster diving is not the way to accomplish filling out that many roster spots. I simply don't see how they fix this squad until they deal everyone away or decide to have a 200 mil payroll.

Been over a year at my current job and I can't stand management. Most importantly I can't stand my bosses boss who I have to meet with on a daily basis. Over the past month, I've become so agitated that I've started looking. My family is even fine with me taking a paycut. They see how much I'm hating this job. I'm pretty sure my boss is going to be pissed (he's the type who thinks about HR rules later and says or acts first) as he wanted me to train the replacement guy for last guy who left (also after a year). Wondering how I should deal with him. I know he's going to ask me where I'm going and probe until he gets an answer. I just want advice on how I can shut him down politely because I have a feeling he's going to get these hard feelings I have for this job out of me and I'll just rant. I'm a very even keeled job and have liked every job I've ever had, but this one, I can't fake.
  19. Always felt The Wire was so far overrated it wasn't even funny. Sopranos overall is great, but that ending was horrific. How is Oz not even in here? I picked Entourage out of nostalgia, but I'd go: Oz Game of Thrones The Sopranos
  20. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 4, 2016 -> 10:07 PM) As always Yep. This loss seems no different than any other loss they've had the past 4 years.
  21. QUOTE (TRU @ Sep 2, 2016 -> 08:52 AM) Matthew Stafford You can get him in the late rounds and from week 10 on last season he was about the 4th best QB in terms of fantasy. This season, he has a very favorable QB schedule and plays 13 of his 16 games inside a dome where he plays better. They are also likely to be one of the top passing teams in the league. Except he has no Calvin Johnson. Stafford throws a deep ball, but not very accurately. Calvin made up for a ton of that.
  22. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 25, 2016 -> 05:27 PM) Illinois football just got 2 pretty big recruits today. Could be getting another kid from Texas tomorrow. Who were they?
  23. Sorry man. Hope all works out well. Kyyle's a decent dude.
  24. I'm so sorry man. My condolences to you and your family. I know it's tough. Just remember it's okay to cry, it's okay to hug someone, it's okay to feel sadness, anger, and more sadness.
  25. My thoughts are with Knightkni and his family. God bless.
