  1. Everywhere I Go by the Nelson Brothers??
  2. QUOTE(Soxy @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 05:53 PM) Edit to add: Who the heck voted for Oscar Mayer? That's like voting for Pabst Blue Ribbon in a beer poll?!?!? What you trying to say? Pabst Blue is the s***, especially with Oscar Meyer weiners.
  3. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 02:44 PM) In related news, Coca-Cola also announced the return of shards of f***ing broken glass in streets, on sidewalks, and on playgrounds across America. And parents everywhere rejoiced.... Stupid stupid stupid idea. So liquor should be taken out of glass bottles and be put in plastic then, right?
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 04:38 PM) Dark blue and black do not go together dude. Green and black, and green and green go together. Not to mention its a shout to the lineage of old comiskey. Black and dark blue do not go together? I disagree strongly. Black goes with anything. It's the universal color. I shall photoshop a pic of the Cell with dark blue seats and you shall see.
  5. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 03:46 PM) Guys I think its pretty clear Ozzie and Kenny plan on having Contreras around. I don't think Kenny was bs'ing when he said he'd have to get a guy that could pencil into the rotation this year and the next few years and would have to be a good starter. Unless he gest that he isn't making a deal. He went on to say nothing like that is on the table and its unrealistic to expect anything. What we see is what we have. Only possibility is if our lefty relievers don't impress (the ones fighting for the final spot) and Kenny goes out and fortifies it with a trade during spring training. I've been wrong before, but I feel very strongly about this and all these Contreras talks are flat out BULLs***. Maybe the other teams want em, but none of them have what Kenny wants. That's what I've been thinking.
  6. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 04:35 PM) Green ones look better with the black piping and the green walls. Dark blue does not match either of those. Dark blue does match black piping. Hell, even pink matches black piping. As far as the wall goes, the wall could've been left black and dark blue like in 2003 or changed to a complete dark blue color.
  7. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 03:44 PM) Petco wasnt nearly as badly designed as the first version of US CEllular, hence all of the changes that have taken place. You can compare ballparks all day if you would like, the original US Cellular mold wasnt copied for several reasons. I didn't say the renovations were bad, just the seats. Yes, the original US Cellular as a whole wasn't eyecandy to many, but with the renovations given, the blue seats fit nicely IMO. Darker ones would've been better though.
  8. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 04:08 PM) Hell no Im not tired of it. I love wrestling, that will just make me watch more. He better not start getting in the ring though My thoughts exactly.
  9. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 03:16 PM) Come on, the green seats make it feel more like a ballpark. DO you remember when the damn OF walls were blue? The place looked like a steel mill. It looks better with more ballpark friendly colors and tones. With more brick, green, black, the place looks sharper. Petco doen't feel like a true ballpark? I honestly don't like the green seats, but so many damn people complained about them for years. I think the ballpark would've looked great with just a darker shade of blue seats.
  10. Who is this Javier Lopez guy? I've never heard of him. Anyway, I don't like Munoz much(but I say he's the guy who wins). I hope Reynoso, Malone or Lopez win, though I know jack about Lopez.
  11. QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 08:09 PM) Very solid analysis, but this is news to me: Jose Contreras' reward for going 15-7 and being one of the AL's best pitchers down the stretch last season was a move back to the bottom of the rotation. At least his matchups should be favorable (take note, Commissioner players and other daily-transactions leaguers). Isn't Count our #2 going into the season? No one really knows. I'm sure Ozzie doesn't know either.
  12. Harrington is a guy who thinks like a 3, but has the body of a 4. He loves facing the basket, and lately has fallen in love with taking 3's. I personally think he's very overrated. I mean he's a nice player, but he won't help out the Bulls much at all. The Bulls need a true low post presence with a back to the basket game. Harrington isn't that. In fact, I find his and Deng's game repetitive.
  13. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 02:22 PM) Excellent. 4 star, 25th corner in the Nation per Rivals. 4.38 40 Also things look good for Vonate, keep your fingers crossed. Screw the Illini, he needs to go straight to the Bears.
  14. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) I think Contreras pitched well in the beginning of the season. He didn't pick up wins, but he had some bad luck. I agree with this as well. He had the worst luck of all of our starters, especially in the beginning of the year. Like the 3rd game of the season against CLE when Shingo blew the lead.
  15. QUOTE(G&T @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 01:04 PM) Something interesting (kinda) that I heard about Contreras yesterday was that Don Cooper, on with North, met some Cubans during the off season who claimed to have proof that JC was actually close to 50 years old and that he is older than El Duque. I didn't see this posted anywhere else and I wouldn't mention it except that it came from Coop. I guess it's really not all that surprising. If he's that old and throws his fastball that hard, then damn, I wonder what his fastball was like when he was 28.
  16. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) I'm gonna not say anything more about this, but he's not going to be going up against crappy Big 12 secondaries anymore. Neither will Leinart go against crappy overall Pac-10 defenses period. And nor will he have superstar type WR's to throw to. And since when is Kansas and OSU's secondaries crappy?
  17. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 03:58 PM) Comerica took a little over 2 years to build. It didnt happen over an off-season. I agree that the seats are taking a little longer than you would think to replace, but the Sox are doing so many little things at the same time, I think they are just spacing out the work. Ford Field. And even with Comerica, they built 1/4th of the stadium in an offseason. That's still alot.
  18. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 03:19 PM) What's the weather like in those areas? It'd be easy to build a stadium in a place where the weather is dependable year-round. We also had our offseason cut short by something called the playoffs. Well Detroit has s***ty weather from what I've heard.
  19. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 03:40 PM) No Josh, he is throwing Thome rose bouquets, :headshake Is that not true?
  20. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 12:00 PM) ill bet cutler goes ahead of young, i dont think young will drop to second round, or even out of the top 10. but really young was a late first round pick before the rose bowl, and now people say he should go #1 overall, which is ridiculous. im guessin lienart goes to teh saints, cutler to the titans and young will go to the lions at 9 Young was projected top 10 before the Rose Bowl. Mel Kiper has repeatedly said that and he's the best when it comes to drafts(one of the only things ESPN does well). And Young won't make it past the Jets at 4 if he's there. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 12:06 PM) Jay Cutler is the next Tim Couch.....star QB from a traditional lightweight SEC football school who turns out to be an NFL bust, but becomes a top 10 pick (although Couch was #1 of course) because he padded his stats as the only player on his team. This is how I feel about Cutler as well. I do think he will be a bit better than Couch(as he'll be able to stay in the NFL), but he won't be much. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 02:26 PM) I think Mike Vick (who I think is overrated, unless of course, you're into Madden 06) shows that you need to be able to pass, and the running aspect isn't terribly important. Let's see if he's actually figured out how to pass. Vick has won games in the NFL with his legs, has he not? Vick gets a lot of hate for not being able to pass as well as he should, but as long as he can run, none of that junk matters unless you're a fantasy football guru. And as someone said before, Vick's numbers blow out Steve Young's numbers in the same point of their careers so far.
  21. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 11:09 PM) Rotoworld likes the Indian's side of the trade... I like the deal for them as well. Crisp is a great offensive CF, but he sucks defensively at CF. His arm is a noodle. The Indians got Marte, a backup catcher, a decent RP when healthy and a OF who gets on-base at a great clip while giving up a decent OF, a nice RP, a bad backup C and a another bad RP.
