  3. QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 05:02 PM) Back to the Future is my favorite movie of all time, but that was hilarious. Saw this and it was absolutely hilarious. Also my favorite movie/trilogy of all time.
  4. QUOTE(valponick @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 03:32 PM) That other guy you're talking about is me. I never said you cheated, you just took advantage of the way the league was set up. Most leagues stop free agency at some point int the league, usually right around when the playoffs are starting. The last match of the league (2 weeks long) was you and another team who were both on fire and it was set to be a good matchup. When you started adding and dropping 5-7 pitchers per day to inflate your stats is when it became bush league. Free agency is part of fantasy baseball but it is best for a league to at the very least have a maximum allowed number of transactions per week to avoid things like this. What it ended up coming down to was whoever logged on first and picked up all of the free agent pitchers who were throwing the next day. I should also add that the Hornswogglers didn't start doing it until you did. Well next time log on to your computer faster because honestly, there's a bunch of people who do that on Yahoo and I've been on the "bad" side of that. Plus all the rules are set once the league is set. You really can't complain about something you didn't think of and someone else did. I'm not trying to start a fight or anything, but I'm just saying the facts.

  6. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 10:40 AM) That doesn't make much sense, since Thome is an excellent defensive 1B (which people seem to be forgetting). When PK gets a rare day off, Thome would be the smart choice at 1B. Mack can DH or play whatever other position has someone with a day off, where there isn't a better backup. Makes perfect sense since Thome is older and is recovering from two injuries, one of which has been there forever. I don't see Ozzie putting him out in the field unless some unforseeable circumstance were to occur.
  7. What exactly happened? I mean, there really isn't a way to "cheat" on yahoo fantasy baseball unless you changed the java script and gave yourself all the best players.
  8. NVM, I was in league 5 last year. I don't remember what place I finished in, but it was probably towards the top
  9. As someone said earlier, if PK is on the bench, it's prolly because Mack is taking his spot.
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 04:35 PM) I used to live in the 127th and Pulaski area.. never failed.. I always got caught at those damn tracks going west on 127th towards Cicero. Going to Crestwood's mall, eh?
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 05:18 PM) I'm not 100% sure about this, so does anyone know the real story with him and his writing partner? I've heard a few different stories, but what I kind of gathered was his writing partner (he's on the "Who knows black people" type skit) made a significant contribution to the show (maybe not quite 50/50, but pretty high) and they had a falling out and Chapelle kind of realized it would be hard to match the first 2 seasons without him. This could just be from the crazy rumor mill that resulted after he walked out, not sure. Supposedly, Chappelle said he would be open to doing the rest of season three provided he could keep the dvd revenues and have more control over overall enviornment surrounding the making of the show.
  12. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 04:37 PM) Before we got Thome, Gload served a purpose on the bench as a left bat, backup 1B, etc. But now that we have that left bat as our DH, and he can play 1B, and Borch (Sw) will likely be around for the 4th OF spot, I think Gload has seen the end of his days here. They might offer him a minor league contract, if he'll take it, and he can play AAA. If Thome gets hurt, he'd be handy to have around. If he won't take the AAA contract, they'll release or trade him. Unless PK is really sucking(which is possible) up until Interleague starts, Thome won't have a start at 1B.
  13. QUOTE(Drew @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 04:21 PM) True, but Ozuna is more versatile in the field than Harris, as WH didn't want to learn how to play shortstop. Ozuna can play at least two, probably three infield positions and outfield. Harris is strictly 2B-OF. The addition of Jim Thome does a lot for the bench as well, when you think of the options that open up in NL parks with a Konerko/Thome platoon. And I'd like to throw my log on the fire to replace Ross Gload. The guy is pretty much useless and hasn't contributed much if anything in the past couple of seasons. Well Gload has only been here for 2 seasons. He was a pretty nice bench player his first year and last year he was marred by injuries.
  14. I think people overlook the fact that we lost speed off the bench in Willie Harris. Whatever though, I just hope Ozuna doesn't get hurt.
  15. I want to work at Best Buy.
  16. I think LenDale will be the next Duece McCallister.
  17. Personally, I don't think this deal goes through. It might have been brought up, but I doubt it. KW is not crazy enough(not saying that in neither a negative or positive way) to trade his ACE pitcher from down the stretch last year and a very affordable Jermaine Dye who was one of only few RF's to hit over 30HR's last year for Abreu(who's very good) and Floyd.
  18. 2-3 will be in cohoots. There's money to be made in the US and they'll go the same route as Livan Hernandez. Just leave their hotel room. I think this will be the first and last time you see the Cuban team in the WBC for that reason alone. Just my personal opinion.
  19. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 02:43 PM) No question this was the best game of the season, Crede's walkoff did more than win a single game, it lifted a huge weight off the whole team's shoulders. If the Indians would have taken that game I believe they would have been within 1.5 games of overtaking us. Believe in magic, not magic numbers never held so true. I'd also like to nominate Timo's pinch hit against the Halos on Memorial Day as a top 5 game. There was no way possible that we were going to win that game... no way. Timo. Group 4, who knew? I'm suprised I'm the only one who puts Crede's game #2, though it stretched our lead back out to 2.5 for the time being. AJ's walkoff was significant to me for several reasons: that's when fans started getting behind this team strongly(as in showing up at the ballpark). The place was packed and fans actually stayed all the way til the end. What Sox game, prior to that has that happened? That HR is when the season started feeling really special.
  20. Pete Munro could be a diamond in the rough for them.
  21. McCarthy is a better prospect than Gavin Floyd, yet they want him thrown in just to get Gavin. Um, no.
