  1. JOHN HALL MISSED THE FG!!!!!!! On a sidenote, why didn't Seattle close the roof? Their crowd is super loud as it is, but with a closed roof and dry surface you would think that would favor Seattle even more.
  2. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 14, 2006 -> 06:10 PM) Man the Redskins look so beatable in these two playoff games. I guess you could say the same about the Bears with all D and little O. I hope they squeak past Seattle today and we face f*** Carolina tomorrow. C'mon Seattle!
  3. Option #2 only if you make me an admin!
  4. QUOTE(knightni @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 11:29 PM) Michael Irvin Warren Sapp Jeremy Shockey Sean Taylor Jerome Brown Ray Lewis Kellen Winslow Santana Moss ALL pillars of the community. Of course, I could do this to FSU guys too. Any Florida school basically.
  5. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 10:00 PM) Willie Williams is currently on the Miami roster, and should be a starting LB for them next year. Some schools like DA U obviously forego any shed of academic prominence for football, and its tough to argue with why they do it. When football is your schools main money maker, a money maker that pays for alot of the other sports at your school to operate, then it would seem hard not to walk a fine line between talent/thug. I will give them credit though, Butch Davis really recruited alot of talent, and good people for the most part, they got away from the Miami thug U mantra for a while, but its obviously coming back to an extent. Well it's not like the U's requirements to get in aren't that high. IIRC, they and Louisiana schools have lower standards than anywhere else in the country.
  6. Soxtalk.com = Only place where Torii Hunter isn't deserving of a Gold Glove.
  7. Don't change the fact that he's a horrible tipper.
  8. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2282818 1 year 2 million.
  9. QUOTE(heirdog @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 01:57 PM) I don't think stolen bases are frowned upon in moneyball, they are just devalued (some might say undervalued). Its not like Damon is hurting the team by stealing bases, its just that its not as important of a stat, which I don't agree with. I always heard it was frowned upon.
  10. QUOTE(Pierzynski 12 @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) I hope you're joking. I was. I meant to say Lavar Arrington.
  11. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 12:17 PM) Damon is an upgrade and that lineup is potent on paper, but who knows what that will translate into on the field. I don't think he is going to put up numbers like he has in the past. His stolen bases have slowly declined for the last 5 or so years down from 46 in 2000 to 18 in 2005. That is normally not a good sign over that length of time. Who knows what Giambi will show up? Roids or Sosa 2005. Sheffield just turned 37, so will he play OF or DH. How productive can he be in the OF for a full season at 37? Their Pitching staff has the names, but Johnson is 42, Mussina 37, and the others (Pavano, Wang, Chacon, and Wright) would all be 5th or 6th starters on the Sox. So yes the Yanks will be there, but I worry more about the A's and Indians because they don't have all the big names, but they have some under-rated talent. Well the reason why Damon's stolen bases have gone down is because Boston believes in moneyball(one reason why they hired Francona). Stolen bases are frowned upon in moneyball so he like many others have been told to cut it out.
  12. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 12:47 AM) Have a high school kid throw a baseball at the 40 feet distance and they can repeat the amazing Jenny Finch strikeout stats. And 85 mph fastball coming in that distance would look like Bobby Jenks on crack. Now imagine Bobby Jenks throwing from that short of distance. 135MPH Heater!!!!
  13. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 10:26 AM) yeah he did post that exact same thing...but so what? which is more plausible? that some guy who runs mlbtraderumors happens to read every single rumor on soxtalk and randomly took a rumor from a guy with 11 total posts and published it on his website? OR He is andy the clown and his source is legit, or they both heard the same things from a solid source. I dont understand why everyone wants to discount this mlbtrade rumors guy just because andy the clown had a similar rumor a few days ago Bingo.
  14. Man, they like to talk alotta s***. Probably because they don't have a World Series trophy and nor will they ever have one. And they should be the last people to talk about overrated players like that one guy did about Jon Garland.
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 12:14 AM) well the Texas kicker missed a couple of FG's too that would of changed the game... and I know one for sure was from a pretty short distance. But overall the excitement was better. FSU vs PSU didn't have nearly as much talent on the field as Texas vs USC. This was for the biggest prize of them all and the game was all over the place. I mean, there was only like 4 or 5 punts between both teams throughout the whole game.
  16. QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 11:51 PM) I was saying that personally, I'll take PSU/FSU over it anyday. I'll take defensive games over offensive games anyday of the week. I think PSU/FSU was a better game, but hey, you don't have to agree. Thats fine by me. I think this years Rose Bowl got blown out of proportion because it was the championship game and USC was going for its third straight. In my opinion, there were better games this year, including the PSU/Michigan and PSU/OSU games (I mention PSU games in particular because I watched them more), or the OSU/Michigan game. Hell, I think that UT/OSU was a better game. But again, just me. Missed FG's does not mean defensive battle all the time. In fact, in that game it meant horrible kickers.
  17. Really goes against what Manny said in an ESPN article today.
  18. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) How good was the Illini D tonight? MSU came into tonight averaging 82.8 ppg on offense. That's good for 6th in the country. Here's the scoring and shooting stats for their top 3 players coming into tonight's game. Maurice Ager: 22 ppg, 48 fg%. Paul Davis: 19.9 ppg, 61.2 fg%. Shannon Brown: 17.6 ppg, 48.2 fg% Here's what they did tonight against Illinois. Maurice Ager: 9 points on 3 of 8 shooting. Paul Davis: 12 points on 3 of 9 shooting. Shannon Brown: 17 points on 6 of 16 shooting. And atleast 5 of those points came at the end with the game already decided. If the Illini keep playing d like this, a return trip to the Final Four is definitely a reality. I don't think so. I'm thinking the Illini will get the hard bracket as usual and I don't see them being able to be a Villanova or UConn(yes I watched the loss the other night) or a Duke or Texas.
  19. From that games I've seen, best game ever in terms of excitement.
  20. QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 09:38 PM) Actually it is still 2-3 days short... that is what is wrong with it. So they can't wait 2 or 3 days to get a deal done? I'm not saying if it will get done.
  21. QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 09:34 PM) At this point they would have to wait until basically the very last day of six month time period for that to work. And what exactly is wrong with that?
  22. QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 09:22 PM) In other words this guy is an idiot. And if it gets done?
  23. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 09:17 PM) Although I believe Broadway has passed this deadline by now but I will ask anyway. What is the minimum amount of time you have to wait before being able to trade your draft pick? I think one full year.
