QUOTE (kev211 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 06:08 PM) They obviously write the episodes and figure out what the main plot of each season is as they go along, but I believe and still believe they had a master plan as the series went a long. Once they saw how great Emerson was they probably realized how great of a leader of the others he would be and wrote him in to be that. I doubt they just magically decided to have a leader of the others, and probably had plans for that role and decided that Michael Emerson would be perfect in it. Either way I don't really understand why people get upset if the writers make it up as they go a long, what show on TV isn't written that way? The show is still awesome weather they made up everything 2 days ago or 6 years ago. Can't wait for the Ben centric tonight, Ben's episodes are always the best. The only part I do mind is that they have huge holes that they have seemed to ignore. Dharma was built up to being something huge, and then it's ignored. Walt was built into something huge(from what I heard, I only watched Season 1, hated the show because it was so damn slow and then returned back for Season 4 and 5), and he's gone completely ignored. Maybe everything will eventually still tie in. If not, the writers failed somewhat. I know not every question will get answered. But I think the ones that hyped up, should be.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 02:48 PM) Long time Lost fan, watched and enjoyed every season. This one is terrible, sorry but it is. Introducing new characters for seemingly no reason, and completely taking one of the best bad guys on TV in Ben and basically making him a non-story. Sorry, but this season is poorly written and IMO making the show hard to watch. In the grand scheme of things, I agree. It's been pretty bad. Overall, I liked the past two episodes.

QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 10:07 AM) I've been struggling with hitting so this past Saturday I did some research and found a technique that seems to be working for me........ First, I guess low, fastball on every pitch. Typcially, if I guessed wrong on the pitch, then it will be some sort of off speed pitch which I'll be ready for. Second, if I guess wrong on the locatoion, there is a good chance it's going to be up in the zone. Whatever the current count is helps to determine if that pitch will be up or out of the zone...like a 0-2 count, you can pretty much count on it being out of the zone. As I've done this, I've become much more comfortable with hitting, and successful as well. At first, I would refrain from swinging on any pitches unless I guess right, but now I'm swinging more based the pitch history, etc. Another thing that might help is to turn on the plate coverage indicator, this will help you without a doubt. This game is very rewarding when you start ripping singles up the middle or doubles down the line, it's where you really start to feel the authenticity of the gameplay. Good tips. I shall try when I get home

Someone teach me how to hit. I keep chasing on crap pitches. How do I learn pitch recognition.
  5. Another hyped fail prospect who caught lightning in a bottle for a year as a middle reliever and his career is over. Sounds about right. I remember hearing about how he was an ace in training. Pft. And even last year, his pitches were all over the plate in his supposed good year.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 6, 2010 -> 02:46 PM) So what do the Bears do now for the O-line? Do they try to steal someone in the draft, or do they chase another FA? Draft. It's supposed to be a somewhat deep class with good, but not studly prospects. Bears would be smart to go after Owens later on.
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 6, 2010 -> 11:30 AM) So "The Show" is definitely worth it? I went in to Best Buy last night to pick up season 5 of Entourage (on sale for $15) and was tempted, but did not pick up, The Show. Figured maybe closer to the season starting. From what you guys have played so far, definitely worth the $60? Without a doubt.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 6, 2010 -> 11:26 AM) Had nothing to do with the numbers Boldin was asking for. It had everything to do with his attitude. I know it's crazy in relation to TO, but the person that told me this would know. I find that hard to believe. If it wasn't for the numbers and the Bears already had agreed to a trade, what could he have possibly said at one meeting that would cause them to scrap a deal for a top 5 WR? Especially agreeing to then go after TO, which they didn't from the outside looking in. It doesn't make sense.
  9. Vegas for the first time for me.
  10. I think TNA should've gave him some better work. Oh well.
  11. Honestly, the Bears should've been in on Boldin. Given the needs of the Bears starting WR > Backup RB. They should've traded for him IMHO. Overall, if you're a Bears fan, you have to be happy. I just think they should've concentrated more on skilled offense.
  12. Kyle Vanden Bosch signs 4 year deal with the Lions. There's a DE off the table.
  13. Rolle to Miami or New York. Bears now have to overpay for him.
  14. Bears apparently have Rolle wrapped up from what I'm hearing and they will announce his signing in a few hours. EDIT - Not anymore. Bears are weighing whether or not to give Rolle the contract he wants or go after Atogwe.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 07:34 PM) Hm. If you add Rolle and Peppers to this defense, we might stand a chance next year. Then give the Cardinals the third they want for Boldin? Let's make it an all Bears offseason. Honestly, I thought that's what they should do. If not get Dunta Robinson. A guy on the cheap who may be a good get is Lito Sheppard. I think the Bears should honestly take a good look at him because they're corners are horrible.
  16. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 03:13 PM) Well, my PS3 isn't reading game discs...not good. Anyone know how to fix this? Sounds like the Blu Ray reader may be messed up. There are fixes on YouTube I believe, but if not, you're going to have to shell out the $150 to Sony, use your warranty or buy a new one.
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 03:13 PM) Heavy Rain was the s***. I finished it last night. It's actually crazy the many different ways the story is ending for different people. It also lets you go back and replay certain scenes to see what you could have done differently. I don't think I'll play it again, though, but on the difficulty setting I was on it took a bit over 10 hours of gameplay. I just traded it to Gamestop for $40 and picked up an oldie I'd never played (GTA IV) and NBA 2k10 to improve my collection. Not a huge fan of NBA2k10. I thought 2k9 was better. I hate the automatic post up and animations they have. Also, My Player mode is long and redundant. Honestly, it's not much fun at all. Just feels like more of a task. I love GTA IV though. Too many people give it hate because they expected it to be the most awesome game that will ever be invented. It's a great game.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 09:34 PM) VDN played him what, 27 minutes for a game last friday, right before he had to start sitting out again? So like 3 6 minute games and a 27 minute one when fans and JN were both demanding more minutes. Wasn't Friday's game an OT one?
  19. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 11:48 AM) On a side note, did anyone else think that the Washington Park Olympic stadium was never going to be torn down? I was convinced it was going to be a second... larger.... NFL stadium. I was hoping we got the Olympics and it wasn't. Then again, the plan for the stadium was cheap material and very bland so they could turn it into a much smaller venue. Either way, I would be on board. That second team would be my 2nd favorite behind the Cowboys. I'd actually go to their games. But alas, the Bears really did drop the ball on the Soldier Field stuff. I remember Daley wanted a retractable stadium that was much larger so he could host a bunch of stuff like the NCAA tourney, another football team etc. And then he one time wanted one of the McCormick places converted which I think would've worked. Either way, I don't see Chicago getting another football team.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 06:24 AM) The goal is to make yourself a better person for yourself, not to win her back over. Blake I'm gonna be honest, to me it looks like you are setting yourself up for a serious heartbreak. Its like you are pushing it off and think it wont happen if A and B and C are followed through. "The one who got away" is the one who left you, and keeps insisting on this quasi-single appearance and attitude. You are better than that. If she wants to go, let her go. Dont feel bad because you messed around with some skank, thats what happens when you first break up with someone. FTW!

If it all connects, how come Jin in the future cannot speak English when the Jin in the past can?
  22. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 4, 2010 -> 09:48 AM) Huh. After it started cycling through the Mauer and Milestones ones for a 3rd time I gave up. Good to know. Thanks. Yep, it was actually the first video I saw when I started up the game. Originally, I was like, "Wow, how did they know I was a Sox fan" until I realized it was just random. I've seen it about 3 times now. I've seen the Mauer one once, the Milestones twice. BTW, anyone got tips on hitting? I don't know how to lay off a pitch at all. Everything looks good until I swing at it to find out it was a head high fastball or a slider low and away. I'm playing Road To The Show and the only thing keeping me from dominating is me swinging at everything. I'm batting .368 with 3 HR's and 9 RBI's through 20 games with a slugging percentage of .564, but my OBP is .368 as well because I can't take a walk. I'm the #4 hitter for the vaunted Tigers' AA team, the Erie Seadogs.
  23. I think a lot of Vernon Davis developing had to do with Mike Singletary as well. I'm not saying Martz's system didn't partake in Vernon not being a beast, but I think a lot more had to do with Vernon's maturity. Regardless, Olsen was a major bust. He's not really a TE. Just a big WR. At the time though, I thought it was a good pick for the Bears because he seemed to be BPA.
  24. And people here and other places were bashing VDN for taking it easy with Noah to win a few more games. Obviously the guy is hurting enough where he couldn't make it past a few 6 minute games without feeling the ill effects.
  25. Anyone know how to download the official roster updates?
