  1. Everyone on the Sox should bic their heads in a show of team unity.
  2. Break the Tigers' hearts please.
  3. If there are 3 deals, you got believe they are Soriano in, Vazquez out, and a minor trade for a backup OF. I see nothing else Kenny could do logically, unless there's a bigger trade none of us can even draw up.
  4. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 12:39 PM) The dodgers have been mentioned as well in the Soriano rumors. Three prospects are off limits it seems. There are plenty more prospects to choose from as LA is stacked. From CBS sportsline rumors: Los Angeles Dodgers Updated:07/25/2006 If the Dodgers do make a move before the trade deadline, the Orange County Register says the young trio of Russell Martin, Chad Billingsley and Matt Kemp would be off limits to trade partners. Give me Broxton...
  5. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 01:25 PM) I'm really not convinced that you can say we developed Cotts or Jenks. They came from other organizations that developed them. Even Garland to an extent. Jenks was in so much trouble he got released. Sox developed him into what he is today, no doubt. He has always had the talent, but the Sox helped him put it together.
  6. Perhaps 2 weeks ago KW was interested in getting Soriano and flipping him to the NL or whatever, but with what has gone down in the past 2-3 weeks, there is no chance in hell he would not keep Soriano. KW's got to be pissed right now.
  7. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 12:12 AM) You're already "messing" with his season by moving him to another team in another league in another park. That could conceivably mess him up just as much if not more. If moving to an extreme pitchers' park and playing a new position doesn't screw him up, I don't see where he bats really affecting it. There's also a big difference between Iguchi and Soriano. For one, Soriano has some experience as a middle of the order hitter. Secondly, he's got a lot more power and is more effective as an RBI-guy, so he's a better fit down there than Iguchi is. Iguchi's whole Japanese career was middle of the order.
  8. I don't think you mess with Soriano's season right now. He's mashing to all hell, and you risk corrupting him similar to the experiment with Iguchi down in the order. If the Sox signed him to an extension, perhaps you experiment with it next season, but I see zero reasons why to mess with the way he is going now.
  9. I agree he isn't a traditional leadoff hitter, but he does a helluva a lot. I would rather see him doing all of what he does in front of our best hitters than behind them.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 11:09 PM) Why would we want Soriano at leadoff? Isn't a leadoff hitter supposed to only steal bases and bunt? I don't want a guy who can knock in runs and create offense when we're facing a tough lefty or a catcher who can throw. Don't be silly.
  11. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 10:53 PM) Trades not happening, after the game they interviewed kenny and he said hes not dealing major leaguers. And mentioned that Bmac is going to be the future for this team. Very old news.
  12. Why overspend for mediocre pitching that really isnt anything better than we have? Soriano will have twice as much impact than any pitching that we can acquire.
  13. QUOTE(Frozen_Rope @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 10:40 PM) I guess I'm just a typical Sox fan. I watched every pitch of the playoffs and World Series last year and I can't seem to get my mind around how bad our team is right now. We have a stronger lineup and with the addition of Javier Vasques, we were "supposed" to have a stronger staff. WHAT HAPPENED?! Oh well, I still have the Bears. McCarthy was a gift from god down the stretch last season, winning some crucial games. Hopefully he will be given the chance to do it again this year.
  14. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 10:10 PM) I want want want Vazquez flipped with McCarthy. That'd go a longer way to solving our problems than anything else I can think of. You have to believe that's gonna happen soon. Even if Vaz isn't traded. I mean, our coaching staff isn't that stubborn and unintelligent, is it?
  15. When was Ozzie ever a good on-the-field manager? His off-the-field spiff is getting out of hand though.
  16. Thank god. At least we aren't yet to the point we can't score off Lohse. If that happens, you know you are in deep spiff. Not that we aren't already.
  17. Maybe if we all start rooting against the Sox, they'll start winning. That's the problem. Our mojo wears off July 12th every year. We have to flip it around. Booo McCarthy Booo. You suck!
  18. Just throw at someone. Get into a brawl. There's a spark and it won't cost McCarthy.
  19. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 09:42 PM) Jose NEEDS to step up BIG time tomorrow, and pitch a CG SHO. That wont be enough
  20. I wonder how many trades can be made in less than a week. Let's find out.
