  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) Ozzie started using his pitchers way too long the first week after the ASB, when he left Garcia in the game until the 9th inning against the Tigers in a game that he had thrown a ton of pitches and had nothing left. Since then, he's been very hesistant to trust the bullpen. Yes I know, I was merely talking about his handling of the team overall. That's where he is slumping. The "I gotta get outta here" comments and the Marte situation are just small examples of how Ozzie has seemed to have lost control...
  2. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) Maybe it has a little bit to do with individual performances. But I guess Mark, Jon and Freddy pitching like s*** in the second half is Ozzie's fault. Same thing with Pods getting hurt, Hermy's back problems, Marte's flakiness, etc. Damn you Ozzie! Nah, I think it's his inability to handle the pen, inability to pull the starters, using Marte period, playing multiple bench players in the last game of every series, etc.
  3. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 09:29 PM) Even with that, the Sox were still winning, and they only lost because of their defense. Was it Ozzie's fault that their defense couldnt field tonight? They only lost because they gave up more runs than they scored. Due largely to leaving in a lame duck on the mound...
  4. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 09:29 PM) WTF? I was bashing Ozzie... I am in no way an Ozzie supporter. I was with you...Adding on persay
  5. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 09:23 PM) You realized he makes poor managerial move after poor managerial move too? Have you Ozzie supporters not seen how quickly and how hard this team has gone to s***s? Ozzie, right now, is absolutely clueless on how to right the ship. Clueless...Ozzie givith...Ozzie takith away....
  6. We've lost about 10 games in our lead over the Tribe in about a month...
  7. Power Rankings are mostly about how you are playing at the time. Yes the Indians are a better team than us right now. They should be ahead us...
  8. Santana's blisters will flair up again during warm-ups on Saturday forcing Gardenhire to go with Terry Mulholland. Ozzie will see this, take El Duque out after the first inning siting a minor injury, and replace him with BMac...I prayed to God, and this is what he told me.
  9. Number one, I'm very much happy to see Marte gone. God did I dispise him. With Jenks now looking f***ing awesome, Marte's more than expendable. In no way did I have the slightest bit of confidence in him. Apparently Ozzie/KW don't have any either. This may weaken our team overall, but if our chances in the playoffs come down to our 5th reliever, I believe we're f***ed anyway. BMac-Jenks-Cotts-Politte-Hermanson is more than enough...Good riddance Damaso.
  10. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Sep 12, 2005 -> 02:57 PM) I like this idea...although, isn't crede a free agent? So sign and trade, ok. This would bring something we really need, on base guys...Overbay, .385 in '04, .366 in '05....Mueller .365 in '04, .373 in '05... And I'm not saying I don't want Kong back...but OBP guys are missing from this team....and no matter what, I'd like to see Mueller here...Crede's glove is not enough to make up for what we need on this team, and he is the obvious choice to go. Oh, and I already have a Lyle Overbay bobblehead (Brewer game this year). I believe Crede is arbitration eligible...
  11. How about we stick with the guys that have gotten us here rather than f***ing around? There should be no more than 1 bench player in the starting lineup at one time until we get this rapped up. If we see Ozzie trot out Timo along with Widger and Blum in the 3rd game of the remaining series', I'm gonna flip out...
  12. It's going to be a tough call on who to get as DH for next season. Frank is the sentimental choice, but not the best choice. This free agent crop pretty much sucks. PK will be at the top of the offensive list. If we are going to add bats next year to solidify the offense, we HAVE to keep PK. PK at DH and a trade for Overbay would be ideal, as far as I'm concerned. Whether Pauly would be willing to do that is the issue. I don't think he would be willing... Other move I would absolutely love to see is Bill Mueller signed to replace Crede. Send Crede over with others for Overbay perhaps. Mueller would be a very nice addition. Other than that, I've always loved Brian Giles who's a free agent, but we are stacked in the OF. The rest of the FA crop is pretty poor...
  13. Make that 105 K's for Aaron compared to 24 BB....

  15. Hawk is getting worse as time rolls on...Pretty soon we will all enjoy DJ's commentating more.
  16. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 19, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) Shutup about the umps screwing us every day shutup about griffey not having a place here shutup about everett being clutch ...if anyone had to say it, i figured it should be me. Aaaaameennn.....
  17. Also, keep in mind that the Carl Everett that steps up to the plate 90% of the time (~when a righty in on the mound) he's not the .266 hitter he is overall. He's a .245 hitter. From the 3 hole, that's ridiculous...
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 10:11 AM) No. Not really. He has 2 less HRs than Everett. He also has +30 points on his OPS and +30 on his BA. This does not solve all of our problems. Neither does a 35 year old pitcher with a partially torn rotator cuff and a team that would want a s*** load of talent for the two. Ibanez and Guardado would be great pickups they however would not cure all problems for this club and would cost more than should be given up for them. 43 pts higher on OBP, 29 pts higher on BA, and 32 pts on OPS is quite the upgrade. Add in the fact he hits from the left side, and actually effectively (unlike Carl who's abismal from the left side) and you've got yourself a hell of an upgrade. Sure, these 2 won't cure all of our problems, but they do address our 2 most glaring "fixable" holes. Hopefully the price is down somewhat from before the deadline. Ibanez and Guardado would be perfect...May the price be fair...
  19. Ibanez and Guardado...problems fixed.
  20. If Pauly said he lost sight of the ball and didn't know where it went, then I believe him. It just looked like he was standing at home plate thinking the ball went foul. If he lost track of it, then I don't blame him. Just looked like he was loafing. Guess not.
  21. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 12:21 PM) Ground? As has been said numerous times, it was the umpire's mistake. Paulie made the right decision. He did nothing wrong because he was SAFE. You're trying to be a perfectionist. Would u still be argung if he had been called safe, which should have happened? People with attitudes like yours are the reason no one expects much from the Sox.......... Nothing wrong? He stood in the box waiting for the ball to land fair or foul. Wasn't Juan chastised by Ozzie recently because a ball Juan thought was going foul actually went fair? Could be wrong, actually. I am arguing nothing but the fact he stood watching the ball landing fair or foul. Nothing more.
  22. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) And you my friend, are stuck in little league mode. He may have waited a bit to take off, but it was NOT a stand up double. Not even close. Carl, for instance, barely made it to 3rd on the play. He reacted, then made a nice baserunning play, and the ump blew it. Thats it, stop ragging on one play that pretty much didnt matter in the first place. If the ump didnt blow the call, your opinion would mean jack s*** because he would be standing on 2nd base. He is a professional baseball player, he made the right decision and an agressive one at that. How am I in little league mode? You even admit he even waited before running. That's what I am saying. He lost a good amount of ground, and the play COULD have been completely different.
  23. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) I get what ur saying, but he got to the right place at the right time in any case, made the right decision, and was safe. His speed at the start has no relevance, because the play would have looked the same regardless, mainly becuase of his speed in general. Paulie was safe, the ump blew the call, bottom line. If the ump would have called him safe, would this topic exist? And would u be arguing? Surely not. Pauly didn't start running till the ball just landed fair. Slow or not, that cost Pauly substantial ground.
