  1. Well, I am at least 100% sure now that Lopez' floor is unhittable closer
  2. Yeah 5 innings looks likely
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 07:15 PM) Lopez is a soft tosser Ha. Man, damn thing sure sounds heavy doesn't it?
  4. Smith and Lopez with good results but not on same page yet
  5. Part of it is due to structures. A lot of publications teams have groups that focus on prospects, groups on MLB, groups on LatAm, groups on american prep. You see when players cross over they have difficulty with grades until the new group can judge them.
  6. Really excited for game tonight.
  7. Excited for my ReyLo jersey
  8. I have not heard Michael Porter be described as unathletic before that article.
  9. Passan's article was interesting in talking about the schism on prospect community vs scout community on players like Pasche (and another who I will not mention!).
  10. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 12:51 PM) Doesn't seem to appear on any of DBacks mid season lists, but looks like a nice relief prospect. Surprising prospect list not to be able to crack, but welcome aboard Burr!
  11. I'm surprised I liked having him in pen/spot starter. Guessing we get the Dylan Covey experience soon then?
  12. QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 01:40 PM) It could really go either way depending on who you ask. Subjectively, the Braves may have a slight edge due to most of their top guys being 20 years or younger and still have a lot of growth left. I think it's hard not to admire what they have done with their players from a developmental stand point. While we have acquired 70% of our top prospects, while the Braves have homegrown most of theirs, taking a bunch of high schoolers in early rounds of Rule 4, making splash on 16/17 year olds in the LatAM market, send them to rookie ball for a year, Low A ball for another year, then skipping High A and going straight to Double A. Yet their prospects haven't looked outmatched but rather gets better at each level. It's hard not to envy how stupid good their minor league development and scouting is. Yep.
  13. I'm not sure I could accurately do it. I'm so much more familiar with our 15-30 than theirs. When I look at ours I see all the positives, for theirs I read the realistic scouting reports and negatives. Both teams have a nice mix of high impact with the types of players that also just seem to stick and be good.
  14. Lot of great detail in those write-ups. Funny not seeing Fulmer anymore, I have to say.
  15. Remembering and laughing about last year when hard knocks showed how the rams actually thought tavon Austin was good
  16. I think Bills did well today.
  17. If they actually cared about how the status and money of the NFL can push DV victims into the margins, their responses would look a lot differently. But they don't care, they just don't want to be bothered.
  18. I don't know. Domestic violence is terrible. But it seems to me the NFL is more trying to react to how public will react in each scenario than trying to actually deal with problem. Josh Brown, not a big star, 1 game. Zeke, big star, 6 games. Doesn't capture public imagination? Light suspension. Does? Heavy. See? We are the NFL and show that we understand this issue, have you heard about october where we wear pink?
  19. FYI here is biggs article which is PACKED with good info: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0811-story.html
  20. I also have to say, I read Biggs column today, and Glennons comments annoy me. All he has to say is he thinks Mitch did a good job, that he is excited to look at the tape and improve,a nd that he thinks competition makes him better and wants to do what helps the team win. Instead he is totally bought into the moping about how he may not be handed a QB job on a silver platter. You are getting paid like a starter, guy, stop whining if you don't earn it.
  21. Like, it's only a preseason game, sure sure. But trubisky was so trashed as a pick, from getting booed at bulls game, to becoming this running joke on NFL talking head twitter, that I'm going to enjoy this. Bears fans never even got the honeymoon phase of imagining a top QB draft pick would succeed. So, basically we get a week of honeymoon phase. ANd though it's true in either case, I'd much rather this then the rationalizing that it's preseason after a terrible performance.
  22. When Moncada gets into a favorable count like 2-0, where he can lock-in to a fastball if it's in the zone, it just seems like game over. I'm actually surprised the ball only want as far as it did, he seemed to get all of it (maybe it was a bit toward end of bat).
