  1. Reid has always made things work on offense. What I’m blown away by is in year 10 of their constant competitive tenure, their offensive and defensive line is still this good and has this many impactful players.
  2. Correct. What we know will instead happen is Tim anderson will leave in FA and leave our 76 win team. But he will not be traded prior.
  3. He’s not 16. He’s 22 and pitched 41 innings of pro ball over 3 years. I don’t really know if he’s “good” but I’d say that definitely indicates he’s a reliever. I definitely don’t care to use the intl budget for that profile. Great profile for the minor league rule 5
  4. Like the yogurt signing, love paying mlb prices for minor league relievers
  5. I forgot Sal Perez’s contract is bigger than benintendis.
  6. Can’t imagine why they canceled Sox fest with stuff like this. Such a pathetic franchise. They can only compare themselves to themselves and are so impressed by what good boys they are. Bring up that we can see the twins sign an actual premiere free agent, that the tigers can sign an actual top free agent, and that the guardians can re sign one of the best players in the game while you were too timid to send a QO to a pitcher that went on to guarantee over $200 million dollars the next two years because you were too scared he’d accept… well that would pierce their Truman show.
  7. Last years 81 wins was a huge success for hahn. His second best win total in 9 years!
  8. You guys need to embrace that in Rick hahns tenth year his teams once again settling into his 75-78 win comfort zone is objectively hilarious.
  9. wait but did cbs sports get it wrong or was he wrong about what cbs sports said @Kyyle23 ?
  10. Also got a new rep after about 3 months of one. Also don't know anyone who had seat plans last year who renewed. Looking appropriately rough. But it's really hard to have anything but antipathy toward that ownership/front office group.
  11. They really should contract the bulls.
  12. I'm pointing you to the 2nd baseman on the list named Marcus Semien who was inconsistent at 2b and written off by the sox only to become one of the better defensive infielders under ron washington. TA's numbers indicate a player who can get to anything but has lacked growth in technique. The sox failing to convert that is on them. His range may have provided the same emptiness in the outfield, while also providing only 10 HR power which is much better to eat at short.
  13. what an exhilarating list. Feels like finally there is some validation on this boards positivity toward that collection of middle infielders. And exciting to see Ryan Burrowes was included in that top 20, which, hard to see anything from those beautiful DSL box scores. Exciting now for him to be stateside.
  14. I feel like someone mentioned it was weird ramos didn't make his top 100 after being in his just missed, he acknowledged that Ramos was in his "just missed the just missed" group as a head not to that. I really feel like the reports of Ramos power plus his very positive make-up/work ethic reports means we have a real chance with him.
  15. It really is astonishing with reinsdorf teams. You always end up back on this road to irrelevance. And maybe it's predetermined. Starting to get to the point where I think I would be ok if the mlb and nba decided to contract the bulls and white sox so long as when they did it they didn't reimburse reinsdorf, just evaporated that wealth.
  16. I still don't know if it's bad though. I still look a guy like Pratto who looked completely overmatched and then turns it on in AA. Maybe this was what he needed, maybe it weeds out a few who would have made it if not for confidence. But looking back great falls did seem to be too marginal a jump from AZ and didn't prepare many for A ball.
  17. My response to this is to take a gander at who is 2nd best in DRP at 2B. I cannot imagine him being there had he stayed on the sox. Hahn's entire tenure as GM has seen terrible defense overall and very little progressive improvement in defense with the exception of Jose becoming tolerable and Moncada's journey at third. Meanwhile a bunch of guys have left that were deemed hopeless and became good to great (Semien, Narvaez). I'm sure some part of this is scouting (drafting 100 overweight corner ballplayers), but hard not to notice how an org like As, Cardinals and now cubs can so routinely ratchet up top defenses from what they have.
  18. It's really hard to see how this guy gets to the bigs before 27 when he is scaling his innings up 10 IP per year from 0 2 years ago. By 2033 he'll be a 100 ip pitcher.
  19. This is my favorite stuff from BP. Highly recommend bookmarking in the future as we discuss defensive metrics for players. I had previously thought FRAA was superior for infield, OAA for outfield. Looks like DRS was much superior for infield the last half decade. Great stuff by Judge. I think most shocking thing to me is Schoop had out of this world metrics for 2022 at 2b in OAA. This just has him 3rd, but rates Torres very highly. Pretty interesting stuff. Very unfavorable to Segura at 2b which is interesting.
  20. And it appears the blazers are selling and not buying. What a nightmare this year is.
  21. At this point I’m kinda pining for paxson to take over again.
  22. but the nice thing about arlington is you can leave early sunday, spend all day there tailgating and enjoying the additional facilities built around and for the stadium experience. If arlington was just solving traffic issues, yes. It's not. But the point is soldier field is behind the highways that segregate the city from the lake. It's in a big field. There's not much of a tailgating culture because of lack of parking lots, and there's nothing there beside the stadium. It's beautiful land. But chicago is such a big 10 city, and I think that's a big part of the ticket holders as well. I'm sure they want more of that all day fun. I'm looking forward to it, this will be an awesome process to watch.
  23. how on earth...how on earth...do the lakers still end up better with russell plus a bad pick.
  24. https://www.baseballprospectus.com/news/article/80209/prospectus-feature-introducing-range-defense-added/ Pretty interesting and probably where we’d all place TA. He can get to a lot…yet it doesn’t often lead to outs. Or often enough at least. Would love to see where Jose Valentin would have been when I have a chance to look. Really thought TA would find consistency with reps, but also feel like if he was on the cardinals he’d be the best shortstop in the league.
  25. I do think he just needs to play nice for 4 months. But...if he re-signs there that's where trouble will happen like...Oct/November for sure. I'm sure he'll just mope and not play or whatever b.s. he always does.
